Gatesville reaches epic total of 1000 nations

In a historic moment throughout the history of Nationstates, Gatesville announced today that it was finally able to break the 1000 nation point. This is a first for any user-created region in NationStates history.

Gatesville has been in existence for nearly 10 months now, and has been growing steadily since. The goal of the region is to provide balance in the present UN. Angered by the UN's trend of consistently passing liberal resolutions that deprived the nation of the right to govern within its own borders, Gates the God (founder) and Rose-Colored Glasses (Original Delegate) founded the Gatesville as an organized opposition. Since, it has grown as many dedicated nations joined the region, eager to help fight these resolutions.

Since it's founding, Gatesville has been plagued by opposition in the form of nations that do not fully understand our cause. They see the region as nothing but an organization bent on subverting the UN to capitalistic views. Gatesville's cause is to prevent anyone from infringing on national sovereignty, even the capitalists in the world. Gatesville doesn't want to form a capatilist UN, but rather one that defends national sovereignty. To do this, they have struggled to gather enough votes and support to reject resolutions that would infringe on national-sovereignty.

The celebrations of nations throughout Gatesville could be heard throughout the world, as echoes of impending change shook the political atmosphere of the UN.

Thank you to all those who helped me recruit. We have finally made it to a thousand nations and achieved one of our regional goals.

I would like to invite everyone who wants a closer look at Gatesville to come check out our offsite forum antiun.cjb.net

You know as well as we do that you hate the "liberal beast" not because of sovereignty but because of liberalism. But good job anyway, you have some dedicated recruiters.

Grenval, thank you. This is exactly the kind of of misinformation that has cause Gatesville so much trouble in the past. We do not oppose liberalism; we oppose anyone who would deprive a nation of the right to govern within its own borders. Given that it is currently liberals who control the UN, we often label our adversary the "Liberal UN". However, this isn't an accurate title; it's just simpler than the "Nation-Sovereignty depriving UN" or some other name.

Then if you could please change your recruitment telegrams to use something other than the "liberal beast"...

I don't understand, how do you keep track of 1000 nations?
In fact, what planet would be big enough to fit in all the nations that exist?
Tilus
10-01-2005, 02:04
Well, any planet... just so long as the nations are small enough.

We have great organization in Gatesville. There is a well planned out buerocracy, with jobs for everyone to do. We have a good offsite forum, and many dedicated nations, doing everything they can to protect national sovereignty.

Gatesville is part of the U.N.? Gatesville is pro-capitalism? It'd be nice to see Gatesville pull some serious Capitalist weight in the U.N. and get rid of all this "legalize hemp/prostitution/religion/agriculture" crap. I want to see industry! I want to see technology! I want to see order that is so orderly you could mistake it for a Japanese or German company. I want to see honor and respect, yet complete ruthlessness! Come on Gatesville nations, change the U.N. to please m..us!

I think I'm missing your point here. Obviously those aren't 1,000 UN members, which for international influence is very important, but what is the number of UN members in Gatesville?

Our delegate has 273 endorsements out of approximately 360 U.N. nations. 27% of all Gatesville nations have endorsed our delegate, compared to an average of a 9% rate for the Pacific regions. We are projecting our delegate to have 500 endorsements in a month or so. As you know very well yourself Mikitivity there are several ways to play the U.N. card.

To be honest, I've actually always enjoyed talking to nations from your region. :) 27% is a significant percentage for a large region.

Congrats and I look forward to seeing more Gatesville nations active in the UN (and hopefully the UN forum).

Your nation is deeply respected within the region of Gatesville Mikitivity and your dedication to U.N. affairs is appreciated.
Update our delegate now has 308 endorsements, more then the RR and The Pacific delegates.
