Puppet States are secondary nations created by 1 person, For example, my main nation is Euroslavia. I also have other nations, which are called 'puppets', such as Rostary, Crepes, Falling Fast (which died yesterday due to inactivity :-/), and a few others. Certain people on here have more than 40-50 nations on here, it's quite scary.

Just to add on, with a puppet, it is important to remember, never have two nations in the UN. Also, if you are into roleplaying, do not use puppets to influence the outcome of events. It is poor etiquette to attempt to controll a situation in that manor.

Oh! You reminded me of one more thing Tiborita. :)
If you do get into the roleplaying aspect of the game, it would be interesting to have 2 of your nations at odds with each other, or even a war in between each other, even though it may get boring RP'ing with yourself. Having two nations at the far end of each spectrum is definitely very fun. I know from experience *cough*Carpathian States*cough*.

The preceding posts have already given the defitintion of a puppet state as described in the NS rules, which deals mostly with the UN and region crashing. Puppets or clones are also used by unscroupolus RPers who combine their puppets populations in RP with them, so as to have ridicously inflated militaries.
There is another definition however. In RL terms a "puppet state" is a country that is, through various means, subject to a larger country's will. Basically another country is pulling that country's strings (like getting them to go to war with the bigger country's enemy).
