What is the best way to recruit nations for your region?

In the past I have tried to start my own region, but ended up abandoning them because the population never reached over 5 or 6. So I ask all the successful delegates and founders out there, how do you get people to join?

Join an existing region instead. We have too many regions as is.

What he said. Unless you can think of something that hasn't been done already, or has some kind of neat 'quirk' to it, you're going to have a tough time convincing people to leave where they are.

As a founder of two regions and Head Recruiter for another, I can tell you this:

It is nearly impossible to get active members in modern NS as well as regular members, so it doesn't really matter how many people you have. In about 80 members I got in one region, only 4 were active. A whole whopping four nations were chatting every day.

The best way to get members though (I usually just try and fill it up as fast as I can and hope I get some active people who won't die out) is to send telegrams to newly-formed nations in The Pacific, The South Pacific, The North Pacific, The West Pacific, and The East Pacific.

It's hard work, and it takes days to get over 100 members, but if you are determined, and especially if you get some help, you will be able to do it.

I agree with this, whenever I make a new puppet, I usually move to the first region that telegrams it :)

OK, I just started out yesterday, so I'm still trying to get my bearings. What is a puppet, and how do you make one?

A puppet is just another nation. Simple as it sounds, you just create it as you did your other nation.

Main nations are usually the nation you spend most time with, puppets are just something you use randomly for information or just to have stashed somewhere in case you would need it someday.

Telegram like crazy. That's the most effective way to bring in new nations to any region.

Also, during recruiting, make sure you keep your regional HQ active since many players look at those messages to decide if they like your region. Therefore try and engage any members you may have in your region in the effort and ask them to keep the regional HQ busy. This has a few positive effects.

1. You region appears active.
2. Your region actually IS active, because you have engaged your members.
3. Everyone in your region feels part of the recruitment effort.
4. You don't feel like you are doing it all yourself.

Best of luck!!!!

Just send off messages to random people "Pepsi and Coke are the same thing! Wake up, people!"

Thanks ... the way people talked, it sounded like you could create other nations within the same profile.
