Is my Region Cheap?

I've been thinking alot latly about my nations region, Orbital Colony 1337. I've been thinking that maby its a bit cheap, since its hard to reach and take over. I play at a tech level that takes place about in the year 2050, so much of the technology is the same, but more advanced. I would create a new region, but my country has a history of hundreds of years of isolation, giving it its own unique government and views on life. Without this, my nation just dosn't work. (Trust me, it all makes sense if you read the history, which I can't post here because it would take years to read) So, here's my dilemma.
I can
A.)Move my country to the ground, thus destroying my culture and compleatly changing everything.
B.)Stay on the colony, but play in the far future.
or
C.)Fight like hell to convince everyone it's not cheap.

I plan to follow the third option, with this reasoning.
>Although it's hard to get up to, it also takes a while to get down. (We're building a space elevator, it will work, it was designed by NASA. They havn't built one because they don't have a large enough object in geo-sync orbit to attach it.)
>All supplies short of food and wood must be imported.
>You could very easily destroy an entire country simply by hitting the station with enough missiles. (Blow a big enough hole in it and all the air goes WHOOSH!)

There are other reasons, but, since I am trying to tell them to you, I have forgotten them. I'll write them down as I remember and post back here.

What do you guys think? Cheap? Why? Thank you for helping me.
