Will my government style I chose in the beginning affect anything?

Because, when I made my nation, chose the wrong government-style. Will this affect anything? Is there anyway to change it?

If you read the FAQs, it will tell you. It says that your choice of government has no true value. It's purely cosmetic. Your nation's government is written on your country's page, its the government the UN has given your country. The one you choose is just a title. :)

I don't think he was talking about your country's title (i.e. Republic, Rogue Nation, Free Land...). «Government style» is either sensible, liberal, conservative, oppressive, psychotic, evil, libertarian, sensible, anarchic, compassionnate or corrupt. I made some tests and it do influence your nation pragmatically, but I can't tell the effect of every of them. Anyone knows?

They influence your nations beginning categories, but as far as I know you can change your nation as much as you like.

The type of government style that you choose affects the government that you are given, as well as the questions you are asked. For example, if you choose Compassionate, I would assume it would lean away from "Corrupt Dictatorship", and government types similar to that.

You can change it through the issues that you receive. If you were looking to make your government more harsh than what you picked, just choose the options that take away freedoms and rights from your people; and if you were trying to make your government more sincere, then obviously, you would choose to give your citizens more rights and freedoms.

the governement is judged not by the ideals it holds, but by the decsions it makes, you can change the title at any time, but it has no effect on the game, exept with regard to other players, I, for example, tend to be a little less forgiving of "holy empires" than other nations.
