Hi
I'd like to join a region. My nation is delia smiths gurus, we have 82 million people today. we're an Iron Fist Consumerist, a member of the UN and a good economy. I'd like to join a region which would have some interesting stuff for me to do, and chances of getting into the cabinet or something. I'm not to bothered about doing to much roleplay, and wouldn't mind some region crashing, I have a couple of puppet nations, and would be greatly interested in perhaps some spying or whatever. If you'd like me in your region, please post here. I'll decide by the end of the week

OOC: We’re much more into the role playing side of things, not the “crash a region and take control of the delegate” style of play. Any and all kind of tech levels are fine, but many of us are modern tech.
Greetings,
Maybe you should join a fine region that has suffered from dying nations and is mainly about role-playing and/or discussing topics seriously. The setting is the African Continent and that is also the name of the region.
Because of the emphasis on role-playing, the region has been made compatible with the region of the Middle East to allow interregional role-playing in a real life setting, a relatively new concept in Nationstates.
The African Continent has a regional forum (http://s3.invisionfree.com/nationstates) it shares with the Middle East.
There's a very active UN component in the region, that much like the real-life UN tries to promote peace and stability. On top of that an economic cooperation organisation (the African Economic Community) was created of which the first chapters are yet to be composed.
There are some storylines one can join into now some of the participants have disappeared:
* African Economic Community (by Che Brisio), still in its first stages. Nations that sign the Caputa-Kigali and Antananarivo-Castroton treaties can join and participate in further developing the charters all can choose to adhere to.
* The former nation of Greater Sudan ceased to exist, leaving a UN observation mission send to check for atrocities between the Sudanese and the Black African minority in the south. Malagassia and Ruanda-Urundi are still part of the UN mission; possibility to inherit this conflict.
* A severe rebellion in the south of the former nation of Sporadia, where the muslim Bal Bal tribe seeks to seccede from the homeland and install sharia law. Talks were organised by the UN but failed. A UN peacekeeping mission was prepared (Malagassia, Ruanda-Urundi) and was about to leave with a frustratingly non-interventionist mandate; possibility to take the place of the nation in turmoil.
* Conflict between isolationist and white supremacist former nation of Suidafrika and breakaway republic of Noordafrika where black africans want to install a modern democracy.
None of these storylines need to be taken over when one chooses the location of a former nation involved.
There's ample room on the regional map, so if you think you are ready for diplomacy, intrigue and interregional gameplay, come and check out African Continent.

Delia Smiths Gurus forgot to mention to everyone his esteemed history. He was already part of a perfectly good region, known as Valkyria. He was considered to be a friend in this region, and his advice was appreciated and respected. Then, one day, evidence was brought forward by several nations that Delia Smiths Gurus had contacted them and was plotting to take over the region he had been so warmly welcomed into by subversive means. The founder, a benevolent fellow, made a long post in the regional forum offering DSG reconciliation. DSG didn't even bother to reply to this plea, and continued to seek new supporters for his so called "rebellion". Even after being ejected from Valkyria for his treasoness and shameless behavior, he continued to plot against the founder and his government with nations he was unaware were informants. He is also known for UN multying and puppet wankery. DSG is not to be trusted. Thank you for your attention.
As the founder of Sector 7G, I must second the suggestions of one of two posters. Genica represents Sector 7G, which would welcome you with open arms, and has cabinet positions available. If you are lookig for a larger region, then I also support Hagge's post. WWSETI is a larger, and also very well run, region. As our ally, I support your decision to join them. The most important thing is to take all of these posts only as suggestions, and follow your heart and mind.
Join Isadora! We are a small region but are looking for new aspiring members, much like yourself. In our region you could become a minister, UN Delegate, or Part of the parliament. Please join us today.

I'll throw my two cents in as well then. Join The NEw Age Soldiers. We combine a healthy mix of an active military, with a diverse political culture.
The government comprises of 5 nations, and we have a regional population of around 50 at present. IF you are interested in invasions, or a junior governmental position then why not telegram Sinns Right Hand in the region.
Thanks.

Have you considered defending? The Rejected Realms' program is always looking for volunteers.

Lancre is a region for relaxed gamers. We work hard at the game, but don't go crazy. Well, some of us are already crazy. We also tend to have sporting events from time to time.

I tell you what, defending and invading, though there are some obvious basics that are different, both involve much the same things. Moving to a region...endorsing people, getting a lot of critisism from the opposite side.
Sure is a good life though. It doesnt metter which side of the political fence you live on.
Depending on your circumstances you can even interchange.
Dear Delia Smiths Gurus,
Taking this from a largely impersonal level, of course I'd like you to join my own region as most other regions I'm sure would like you to join them, but the truth is, and this is from experience, you'll be happiest if you travel around to a few region you like spend a week or so in each and you can do this as long as you like and then pick which one you like best. Eventually you'll find a region you really like and one you'd like to stay in. Thats what happened to me and now I'm head of the region on most accounts. So, better to wait it out in order to make a good decision. Just my 2 cents.

You could join my region, http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=376689 by clicking on that link. While I set it up to be socialist, anyone is welcome. Also, PM me if you need information.
I personally like The West Pacific. I am the Prime Minister of that feeder region, and its a great region.
