So... how about that defense budget?

Trostia

Administration: $0.00 0%
Social Welfare: $0.00 0%
Healthcare: $1,140,381,274,500.78 1%
Education: $5,701,906,372,503.88 5%
Religion & Spirituality: $0.00 0%
Defence: $69,563,257,744,547.36 61%
Law & Order: $3,421,143,823,502.33 3%
Commerce: $33,071,056,960,522.51 29%
Public Transport: $2,280,762,549,001.55 2%
The Environment: $0.00 0%
Social Equality: $0.00 0%

That's right, 69.5 trillion dollars! That's about... hmm... 69.5 times as much as the entire (real) world's combined military budgets a decade or so ago.

Put into perspective, with Trostia's population of 3.707 billion that amounts to $18,765.37 per every man woman and child in the nation, spent on the military. (In comparison, the maximum per-capita defense spendings in the real world are around $900 to $1400 or so.)

This is a total NS greenhorn speaking here: Where did you get that budget?

Sweet merciful... That's more money than all of humanity makes in a year (which is about fifty tril, according to the CIA World Factbook).

Your 3.7 billion people probably have the choice between raiding cafeterias on military bases and starving, too.

You tax at 100%, and thirdgeek actually says your consumption (private sector) is negative. Your people have no money, and I literally mean no money, of their own because you tax every last cent.

How do you expect people to buy food?

Oh, I can hear it coming..."Well, my people have their own little gardens where they grow their food..." well, then how the hell do people buy seed and fertilizer?

I don't see a red cent going to fund food rations in Social Welfare, either. Maybe you could try to argue that it fits under healthcare, but that 1% of gdp has to cover both agricultural concerns and healthcare.

That military budget is a giant waste and a disgrace to your nation, imho.

That's a big defense budget! Clonetopia only has a budget of $19.8 trillion!

As for how people get food - what about army rations?

Not with my agricultural sector! Food is abundant, plentiful, and FREE once you get your citizen's barcode.

Well, bear in mind it's just Thirdgeek's derived values. I don't actually RP having such a huge military budget (or population). I stick more with the game rankings, which merely place my per-capita spending to be higher than most nations.

But you're right, apparently Trostia is still a communist state and are given everything to them by the authorities. However there is still the concept of privatization, so I can only say it's some sort of Stalinist/fascist grouping of corporate and government ruling elites.

I don't see a red cent going to fund food rations in Social Welfare, either. Maybe you could try to argue that it fits under healthcare, but that 1% of gdp has to cover both agricultural concerns and healthcare.

So, we classify them under the military budget. Makes sense, what with it being an obviously militaristic state. The military budget itself is probably subdivided into things like, "keeping the masses from starving" as well as probably hefty handouts to military families. The military machine is what drives the industries (by game rankings, again, many of my industries dwarf most other nations) which employ everyone in a sorta totalitarian slave society regulated by the media and governed by the military.

Or something.

That military budget is a giant waste and a disgrace to your nation, imho.

It comes in handy.

Hasn't anyone thought of the fact that with a large military budget, you could take over another nation easily and take their wealth o_O

(Not saying you could on NS but if you were to RP)
