Why do all the NS calculators insist that I don't have a defence budget, this despite having answered the last 2 issues on the topic pro-defence?
I checked the NS XML feed or something like that, and it too said that I didn't have a defence budget. Why is this? I really need a defence budget for my RPing.

I do it an odd way, I have my avarage wage and times it by my population. It probably gives me less than I should get, but it is fast and easy for me.

Everytime there is an Issue where you can choose anything to do with military, choose it. Thats what i do, and 40% of my budget goest to my military.

Thats what I did, twice now. If the mods have some way of checking it that would be great.

My assumption is that before you voted against military spending and are currently digging yourself out of a hole. Similar to how I can do things that "raise taxes" but still have a 0% tax rate.

Negative defense budgets! Gotta love it.

I did, but how many more issues will it take in order for me to get a defence budget?
And on the subject, who don't I have a healthcare budget? I've ALWAYS voted pro-healthcare.

From the looks of your nation file, I'd say you've got a ways to go. Seems you soundly kicked around your military for awhile. Your health is also low, but not nearly as bad as your military.

By way of comparison, you spend about 24 times more money on Education than Health. Current XML gives you 1% on Health.

The thing to remember is that issues of have unexpected results. Some issues will alter stats without expressly mentioning it (heath and enviro are usually ones that get hit or boosted like this). It's kinda of a guessing game, but usually with some thought and extrapolation, you can guess what the effects might be.

I soundly kicked round my military since my nation was founded. Thanks MGH.
