Is it acceptable for a nation to RP present-tech AND future-tech in different threads, not mixing them?

For example, being at war with F-16s and AK-47s in one thread then fighting with HF-42XA Warhammmer space fighters and Gauss Pulse Laser Rifles in a different, but seperate, thread?

it is the decision of the RPers you hang out with,
just ask them before you start it
If you are in teh EP then there is no problem with tech levels, so long as you OOC state it.
