Anyone got a link to what the ratings hierarchy is? My political freedoms went from very good to excellent, but I have no idea if that's good or bad. :confused:

Depends what your trying to do with your nation.
Excellent is 'higher' than very good, so your political freedoms went up. So if your trying to do that then yeah it's good.
If your trying to opress your nation, then your going the wrong way.

I think a bigger it depends might matter, because looking at just the category (up or down) is a very "the ends justify the means" approach. While common, there are some obvious quick paths to higher / lower categories that I won't touch in the daily issues.
(I say this, and I realize I must clean the baby burrowing owl bits out of my teeth, huh?) ;)
