State Religions

Has anybody else seen this? You know, national religions enforced by law? What do you think about it? Does it have its own group against it yet, or is it just the one or two nations I noticed that are doing it?

Our state religion is Catholicism. Every other religion is banned.

Religion needs to be practised.
Practising religion takes time.
Time should be spent industriously and not frolicking around inside churches, contemplating a higher lifeform that is scientifically not proven to exist.
The Principality feels that too much time is wasted on 'religion' and it is therefore banned.

Catholicism is the dominant religion in my nation. Its just because I'm one. We don't ban any other religion, just as long its not cult-like or anything of that sort.
Christus Victor

Christus Victor ia a Catholic empire, all citizens must belong. As I replied once to question about atheists, a vocal and troublesome atheist would be invited to leave the country, and if persistent would be escorted by police to the nearest border crossing. The same would apply to any non-Catholic religion trying to proselytize.
In my other nations:
New Avignon, West New Avignon (a protectorate of New Avignon), and Micketania are predominantly Catholic.
Micketania has complete religious freedom. New Avignon is a "Catholic Republic" but the legal status of the Catholic Church is undefined; at this time New Avignon and West New Avignon have other recognized religious minorities but no legal guarantees of religious freedom. This may change with the new constitution.
Tribes of Zion is entirely Rastafarian, required by law to belong to the (Rastafarian) Church of Tribes of Zion but not enforced against anyone.
Dragistan, Anarcho-Libertaria and Waffen-SS Ostland have no dominant religion.
Dragistan has total religious freedom. Waffen-SS Ostland taxes churches and religious institutions, and is generally hostile to organized religion other than
a belief in the greater destiny of the Aryan race. Anarcho-Libertaria has no official stance toward religion except that religions hostile to white Indo-European culture are banned.(eg. Louis Farrakhan would not be welcome)

There is no dominant religion in the Empire. the few religious groups in our nation can only practise their rites behind doors. You are free to wear whatever you wish in public, but there are strict rules in schools, hospitals etc. No clothing or items that refer to a religion.
A jew can wear a black suit(davidstars are forbidden) but he will remove whatever he wears on his head when he enters a school, policestation, hospital, governmental building, whatever(same goes for Muslims and others)
Vollmerian Emperors have always been proud atheists, they refuse to support religion in any way.

The largest faith in the Republic is, interestingly enough, Judaism. Christianity makes a strong contention, primarily in the form of the Wesleyan and Orthodox faiths, with Catholicism a distinct minority. Islam is virtually unknown, as well as other "alternative" faiths such as wicca, bhuddism, or falun gong.
There is no state-sanctioned faith. The state laws governing religions are fairly loose, stating that religious groups may engage in any of their practices they wish, provided such practices do not directly infringe on the rights of another and do not conflict with the laws of the land.

In my other nations, I've only seen one issue specifying a religion and that was Catholicism and the options were compulsory Catholicism or no religion or something like that, but does anyone know if later on down the line, there is oppurtunity for accepting/mandating different religions?

There is an issue regarding taxation of churches and religious institutions, of which one option is making the "Church of (nation)" the official religion.
Callisdrun

Callisdrun has no state religion, but about 65% of the people practice a religion similar to Norse Paganism.
The Kingdom Of Endenia bans all forms of religion in the Kingdom as it feels that the time and money spent on practicing religion can be put to better use in the reconstruction of the Kingdom after its devastating Civil War, any attempts at practicing religion in both public or private will be dealt with swiftly and severly, all religious leaders have either been deported or exercuted. Only the worship of our Emperor Kendrick XI is allowed.
All inhabitants of Tobal worship the Great God Fendar. Members of other religions aren't actually banned from the country, but missionaries would probably be killed by mobs before the authorities even arrived...
Further Maths

As the title Supreme Catholic Theocracy implies, Further Maths is a Catholic country, and quite a poor one at that.
Therefore, rather than exiling all non-Catholics, they're just taxed more heavily.
It's win win!
