Hey...obviously I'm new here...and surely some of you might think "Why the hell is he posting a thread for this"....but then again...My English is good, but still as it isn't my native language it sometimes is difficult determining if I'm chosing the right "thing".

Okay...cutting to the chase: Why is my government corrupt??!....I didn't choose it to be...and I sure as hell don't want it to be corrupt..... :headbang:

This is my second nation, because the first one I have to bleed out due to some of my choices....making it a very religious nation...where I chose for spirituality.....there's a distinct difference between the two...Do I have to let this one die because my government is corrupt?!...

He my nation is more corrupt then you.Everyday like a thousand people is beeing killed in fighting with guerilla bandits, because they rule some cities and cant tolerate other people who are in "their"city.I dont mind but thats because my entire police force is wiped out.My army is already in a pitch battle with some of these guerilla gangs.

The Government of La Habana is classed as 'corrupt', but i dispute this claim. I would call my government a Communist Dictatorship rather than a Corrupt Dictatorship. there is nothing wrong with a dictatorship per se, its the type of dictatorship which is important.

Yes. You can start out with the most religious nation in NS, and, by answering issues in a certain way, you can make it the most non-religious nation in NS.

Same goes for corruption.

Corruption is associated with high Political Freedoms. Answering certain issues in a way which increase your political freedoms, such as permitting political advertising and not banning stupid people from voting, will make your government corrupt.

Ironically, what the game calls a "Corrupt Dictatorship" is the exact opposite of a nation with high Political Freedoms.

"Political freedom" is hard to define. It helps if you think of it as having no connection with civil liberties. But in the game, it's how much participation you let everyone have in the political system. That means voters, corporations... you name it. If you ban any person or group from doing something linked with choosing your country's leaders, your Political Freedoms will go down.

Naturally, allowing private companies to fund candidates will increase your corruption. But forbidding them from doing so limits their freedom to support whichever candidate they choose.

(Not a noob, but a puppet.)

I think you're confusing him. First, you needed to give him the link: http://alces.sel.uaf.edu/gregg/ns/nsmap.html

This is the NS Political Map. It shows all the different UN categories in the game, and how they are related with each other. As you can see, OmniCura, it shows that what the game calls a "Corrupt Dictatorship" is a government that is authoritarian on political and economic issues, and centrist on civil rights. I have no idea why "Corrupt Dictatorship" was chosen for the name of such a government, but never mind. If you wish to change your UN classification, you can simply give your citizens more political freedoms (in which case you'd be Democratic Socialist, according to the map), and/or relax your government's grip on the economy (Father Knows Best State). You can do this, as has been mentioned, by addressing your issues (and don't dismiss them; this can have an effect on your UN classification, as well). If you want to speed up this process, go to your settings and change the number of issues you are givern to "Two per day". This will give you more issues in a shorter amount of time, making your government change faster.

To end, I must add that even though the UN says your government is corrupt, that doesn't mean it really is. Plenty of good nations are Corrupt Dictatorships, including my main one at the moment!
