I've got a better question for you, what percentage of NS nations are puppets?
The Most Glorious Hack
06-08-2004, 13:29
30-50%
imported_YourWorstEnemy

I think that the easiest reasonable estimate is 68%.

World pop = 106461
UN mebership = 33710
Difference = 72751

It's not completely accurate, but I think it's fair to say that most players have one UN nation.

TMGH got an answer in while I was figuring. Hack's answer would contain more authority and actual knowledge than mine. But I still contend that 99% of the players are 13 years old!

Eh, not as much as one might think. UN's an okay measuring stick, but A) consider multis, and B) there are many, many players not in the UN.

Besides the one I'm using to post here, I have 10 other nations. I think I'll create the next addition to my group in September.
Sarzonia
06-08-2004, 15:27
I have one. I used to have two, but I let it die from lack of activity.

I'm trying to make my puppet my future tech nation, but Sarzonia's becoming a bit of a hybrid modern-future tech country (ie, a country that's "modern" but with a developing space fleet).
Der Angst

sixteen, not counting three or four dead ones.

with 3- 6 of the nine nations I answer issues with usually staying in the top 1000 for industry UN rankings :D
Draconis Nightcrawlis

I have a measly 7 puppets. I let 3 die of inactivity though.

I currently have 31 nations.

30-50%

That means that between 32 thousand and 53 thousand people play NationStates....*boggles*

i've been sortof halfway thinking about making one or two
but don't you have to log in seperately to update
your issues for each one?

if this was the only thing i did on the net i could see it
but nothing could be further from the case
and i just don't quite see it as being worth the bother

Do you really want to know?

A while back, someone coined the term "Resipuppet". There's a reason that my puppetry actually has a name.

How many are still alive? Three (not including this one).

And that's plenty for me. :)

GET A FREAKIN' LIFE!!!!!

It's part of the game; I have a very interesting life outside of NS, but since NS is the only game I really play on the computer, it does become a bit consuming. I like to have tabs on things within the NS universe, thus, puppets serve me well.

 That's a lot of puppets!

I know, but they're all in use. :D So, watch your back!

1, my space nation and I'm open about it, Captain JamesT Kirk is the nation
P4lladia
08-08-2004, 04:45
P4lladia is my main nation but I hate it's name. Curse whoever had the ex-nation of Palladia!

The Palladian Technate is a puppet that I want to replace P4lladia with as my main nation. It and P4lladia are the same thing. I might start posting under this name soon, but I worry that it might give you all an aneurysm.

Shertaeth is my biggest puppet, and is an "autonomous star system". The only capitalist nation I own.

New Pallas is a small "autonomous star system". It's a baby Palladia.

Ninjao is stupid and I'm trying to screw it up as bad as possible.

Its a nation that isn't considered your main nation.
Moontian
08-08-2004, 13:12
A puppet is a person's secondary nation, used to build up numbers of nations, population, production capacity, etc. Only one of a person's nations may be in the UN, but a person can have as many nations as they like in NS.

I personally use my puppets as colonies, and effectively a part of the Moontian Empire; helping to create a united defence force, with massive production capacity and manpower.

The real question is: Why do they want so many? One is enough IMO.

I only have 1 puppet
I used to have 4 but i let 2 of them die off because i couldnt be bothered to look after them.
I would have more but the problem is that you have to start them off really small so no-one really takes any notice of you when you rp

So I shouldn't even bother to RP? Since I'm new? Then how do I get better if people will not pay attention, what the hell!?!?!

Luckily, I have a password program that keeps everything in a neat little list and automatically enters everything I need to know, so, I never leave a puppet behind.

Some puppets are just sleeper agents, more than 2/3 of mine are anyways, and the rest take part in the region very thoroughly role-playing their part.

But, like I said - without that password program - I'd be freaking lost!

Well, I've been involved in The North Pacific during its period of tribulations, so I now have 8 puppets, one of which is a UN nation and one is an ambassadorial nation while the rest are scattered around in other Pacifics, keeping an eye on things. :p

Actually, I'm a Mozilla fan - haven't tried Firefox, yet... I might download it tonight now that everyone's talking about it, but anyway, I use that for my main nation password, and then, I use Norton's Password program for the rest.

Can someone point me in the direction of these wonderful puppet-logger-ins?Well, you can get Firefox here (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/). Opera (http://www.opera.com/) also has a password manager.
You can get a trial version of the Norton Password Manager here (http://www.symantec.com/passwordmanager/).

Right now, I have only three puppets, but I hope to cover the entire world of Midgard, of which I’ve written many stories about. And Midgard is BIG.
