It gets personal...
Anyone have any personal enemies in NS Gameplay? Either regions or single people.
I've always had Blue Moon (region) as a personal enemy of mine.

I'd have to say defenders in general are getting there for me, not because of a bias for invasions on my part, just because they're so...haughty. Yeah, that'll do.

Yeah, but thats not personal, thats just ideological. I'm talking more individually than that.

Oh, well, in that case, there's not any yet. But I think I'll have some soon.

I would very much prefer that conflicts in NationStates NOT get personal. This is just a game. Am I clear?

I know, but anytime there's human interaction, there's a chance that some things are going to get personal. I don't think it's something you can legislate against. It's going to happen whether you say something or not.

The other nation that I really had a grudge against is long gone, and that was only because they were using ethnic slurs against me during a political debate.
I'm not sure if they were DEATed or just stopped playing, but their not around anymore

True, but letting conflicts get personal leads to a greater chance of the rules being broken, somewhere. If a conflict doesn't get personal, then judgement is less likely to be impaired and it's less likely to cross the line into rulebreaking.
Yeah, It's going to happen whether we say something or not. But, rulebreaking is going to happen whether there are Mods to enforce the rules or not. The difference is that saying something, and having Mods mitigate the problems encountered.
Address the root problem... and any derivative problems become easier to deal with. You can't do anything perfectly, ever. But, you can try. :)

Oooh yeah, ALL the time ;)
Can't say I have any 'personal' enemies... at least none that are still on the game. For awhile, Sheol seemed to have it in for me, but then he finally overstepped the rules and [violet] warned him to knock off his behavior. He didn't, so....

I have some enemies on NS, but I'd prefer not to list them as to aggrevate the situation even in the slightest...
However, I do let things get personal on here - just as I do in RL - only because I do get, as we all do, people who question my character and my integrity based on a fictional character I role-play with or my particular opinions in the forums... when somebody makes it personal, I ger personal; that's the only situation in which that occurs for me.
I defend everyone's right to free speech, however, in the case of slanderous attacks, I step up to the plate, bring out the facts, and prove - in the end - that I (for the most part) am the better person.

I used to really hate some people in the game... but for the most part, they've left, and I don't really care anymore.
On the other hand, I've made some really great personal friendships through NS that've spilled over into RL. You know who you are http://community.the-underdogs.org/smiley/misc/shiftyeyes.gif

i have some enemies but most of them have left.
It's interesting that 2 nations i didnt like much just because i knew the person in real life and really didnt like him. They died due to inactivity though so thats cool.
The region EVIL kicked out one of my nations cause i was anti-UN so im not sure if i like them much
Lots of others i cant be bothered to name
I'm just not very popular :D

Didn't you (as a player) agree with me though when I said that the only way that invasions "accomplished" anything was if you took some glory out of it, or if it was for more personal reasons?

Although he's perma-DEAT now.... XD

Only number 3? Frankly I'm disappointed. Who were 1 and 2?

Actually, the people who I dislike most are no longer here, and that's why I dislike them. They were my friends, and I thought I could trust them...shows what happens when I trust someone.

Not really, it's just that several of my friends who I got into NationStates decided it wasn't for them whilst I slowly slipped into the abyss.
Interestingly enough, the only people I talk to via IM these days are the ones who are still playing. You may draw what conclusions you will from that.

Auto and My rivalry kinda went beyond IC waaay too often, until we both grew up. Lol
Marathon and I went at it more than once, but he got modbombed so...sucks to be him.
Wazzu was the latest one, but then I lost the internet for 3 months, so it kinda died.
Internet fights are stupid anyhow, but I just get fired up some times.

Unfortunately, most of my "enemies" - with the exception of one - has gone the way of the dinosaur.
I do think I'm on many more people's lists of Enemies on NS than I have listed on my personal list.
