Okay, I'm new at this and I want to learn to properly shape the (virtual) nation I've created. I have some questions and good advice would be appreciated and passed on to others.

1. There are things about my nation that I'd like to make adjustments to. Is there any way to contact & suggest to the moderators the kind of ISSUES I'd like to have my nation make decisions about? :headbang:

2. Is there an ongoing document on what rules the U.N. has passed, that my rogue nation would have to adopt if my nation wanted to join that body? :headbang:

3. If my nation becomes a U.N. member, can it leave the U.N. at a later date?

4. Other than what is printed as game material, what are the advantages and disadvantages of U.N. membership? (if any)

5. Has anyone taken to sniping from a book repository from playing this game? :sniper: (just wanted to have a fifth question)

Some answers

Once you have a population of 500 million you can submit new issue ideas, but there's a huge backlog, AFAIK.

2. Is there an ongoing document on what rules the U.N. has passed, that my rogue nation would have to adopt if my nation wanted to join that body?

Your nation takes on the U.N. resolutions as they come into force, it's not retrospective.

3. If my nation becomes a U.N. member, can it leave the U.N. at a later date?

Yep, you can join, leave, join and leave to your heart's content

4. Other than what is printed as game material, what are the advantages and disadvantages of U.N. membership? (if any)

Beyond the printed effects, no not really.

5. Has anyone taken to sniping from a book repository from playing this game? :sniper: (just wanted to have a fifth question)

It's my brand-new hobby. No Presidents have come through the street below in an open-top Ford Lincoln, but I'm hoping there'll be one soon

Regarding 2 things in your appreciated response:

1. I've already submitted about five suggestions for ISSUES. I don't expect the ones I've submitted to show up soon, but I saw no restriction regarding population and the ability to suggest issues. Would you please continue your comments on this matter.

2. Is growing your population a function of making isuue decisions? Or is there some way I can go about actively trying to increase my nation's population?

Trust me, the 500mil restriction is there. Check this sticky out in the Got Issuses? forum http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=325112

The 500mil+ limit is there so they aren't swamped with millions of dumb suggestions from poeple who don't know what the game is about. 500mil nations "know a good issue when it comes along"

Is growing your population a function of making isuue decisions? Or is there some way I can go about actively trying to increase my nation's population?

It increases at a steady rate, and unless you have the much-desired population bug where it grows at double rate, population in an indication of how long you've been playing the game

Thanks again.
However, looking back at my first question on the thread, you accidentally side-stepped what I wanted to know:
Is there a way to contact the NationState staff, to request that certain types of issues be fast-tracked for that nation to examine and legislate on?
Temme

No, no way to fast track it. What you can do, though, if you really feel the need to, is to RP as if those laws were in place. For example, although I haven't needed to use it yet, in Temme, sex before marriage is illegal.
