Thank you

You don't have to... the forums are just a fun place to chat about what's going on in the game.

Or you can Role Play your nation and stuff like that, but I can't tell you anything about that as I don't do it. Read the stickies in Nationstates and International Incidents, is all.

The rules are there are no rules. People play the game in a hundred different ways, so your best bet is to find a way that fits you and run with it. If all you want to do is click your daily issues and rock out, go for it. If you want to declare war on the world, post something to that effect in International Incidents (fair warning though, it's not a good idea). Such is the greatness of NS forums: it's pretty much do whatever you want.

http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=282993 - This sticky explains the basic outlines of how you do the role playing

http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=274470 - This one covers what you shouldn't do/say if you want to have credibility as an RPer.

The basic thing is that it's like telling a story. But you don't have to do it as a narrative, you can have it as intelligence reports, "We have intelligence to show that there is a major threat from nation A to our northern border. We suggest scrambling tanks and planes to fortify defences. Mr. Brown, Intelligence Minister" news broadcasts, "And today we have report that Nation A has mobilised troops towards our nothern border. The Home Office and intelligence service stress that these reports are as yet unconfirmed, and insist that there is no reason to panic," whatever style you feel best gets the point across. You can even just use direct communications such as "Nation A, cease your actions or we will be forced to attack."

Hope this helps,
