Title says it all.

Many regions are pointless, to quite honest. However, a region is defined by those who found it and reside there. They can take on any itteration whatsoever. Some regions will be developed for social purposes, others for entertainment, others for political. Some like the idea of having their own slice of the world that they can mold, others just wanted to see what happens when you click on that link that says "create your own region."

There are some regions that are very organized and powerful, and I wish many players would first look at those before creating a useless region that will die in a month. Just my take on it all.

I dont mind the amount of useless regions, some players in these useless regions dont take part in usual gaming and dont care where they are, they take part in the forums.

Also yeah regions are groups of people who usually share the same interest, or a region is somewhere where two peoples views can colide and argue within

regeons devide the world into small enough chunks to hear your
own voice and hang out with nations that share some aspect of
your own perspectives.

something that in the agora of thousands you might seldom see
the same face twice.

and being potentialy defacto alliances you can face that general
cacaphony of the whole the security of not feeling like an
isolated drop in an endless roaring sea

(of course all this is just my personal perspective on the
question which may well have been of some other intent on the part
of those who origeonaly created it and i don't presume to speak for)

Regions bring together like-minded nations and people, simple as that.

In general I agree with that. I know some regions are basically parking lots for puppets, while others are training grounds for invaders or defenders.

I don't mean to be nit-picky here, but I had to learn about this the hard way. I sent a puppet in one of those parking lots when I was a newbie and I was villified for it.

I do the same all the time. I have puppets all over the NS worlds role-playing their parts.
