Question about UN status and economy...

I've been playing NS for a couple months learning the ins and out of the gameplay (experimenting with different countires etc.) Currently I'm RPing as a dictatorship, the only problem being my economy is still 'developing' and I would like to improve it in order to be more powerful and influential. However, I'm afraid that if I go pro-capitalist on my issues I'll turn into a corporate police state or something similar and lose my dictatorship status (which I consider pretty important in terms of how I RP) I know this because I've experimented with other countries and when I've tried to improve my econonmy as a dictatorship I lose the status very quickly. So I wanted to ask if there is some way I could improve my economy and keep my dictatorship status, or if that isn't possible if there is some way to go to, say an iron fist consumerist state to improve my economy then go back to a dictatorship. Any and all help will be appreciated, thanks.

OK... if you raise your economy but keep your civil rights high and political freedoms low, which isn't easy, you could end up as a Benevolent Dictatorship. A Corporate Police State can have low civil rights, low political freedoms, and a high economy.

Sometimes things don't exactly work out this way, but the very definition of a psychotic dictatorship is that it has low everything, which includes economy - even if you changed your category to get a higher economy, when the economy drops, the category changes. So all I can tell you is to keep expirementing, finding out which issues do what, and try to aim for any of the above categories with high economies but oppresive sounding names.

I'll keep that in mind, thanks.
