15 MAY 04 - HISTORIC GLOBAL SUMMIT ON RAIDERPLAY CONTINUES!
[From the Wire Service] The historic Global Summit on Raiderplay and Defensive Operations is set to reconvene on Sunday, May 16th at 11:00 a.m. EST. The unprecedented conference among the major defender and raider alliances began on May 9th, and was well-attended by delegates alliances throughout NationStates. Representatives from both the raider and defender camps announced substantial progress toward the conference's goal of establishing a Global Accord regarding authorized and unauthorized conduct of players in this particular aspect of NS gameplay. While minor differences continue to exist regarding the morality surrounding raiderplay (i.e., whether it is an ethical form of gameplay,) all sides expressed a willingness to acknowledge its legality under the NS rules. This was a major point of contention between the parties, and appears to be headed toward a concensus opinion.
Other issues addressed included the self-liberation of captured regions, the use of non-UN regions for training purposes and the growth of raider colonies. Attendance at Sunday's meeting is expected to surpass the notably showing on May 9th, with several hotly-contested issues remaining to be addressed.
