i'm really unsure about what to do here in general. before dabbling in international politics, i'd like to get my nation going. is there any way to get my "civil rights" etc. to be more like how i want them to be? any help would be very nice. thank you :)

And about your civil rights, you have to answer issues to change those. Generally to get them up, answer issues letting people do what they want, and to get them to go down do the opposite.
