Newbie Question: Violating UN Resolutions?

I'm a newbie, here, and am debating whether or not I want to join the UN. My question is... how are UN Resolutions enforced? Are you able to 'violate' the ones you want to disregard, and if so what consequences are there? If not... well, I probably won't join anytime soon.

If you join the UN, you are not suppose to violate the resolutions passed. However, having said that, they are in effect in your country under the role-playing of your country elsewhere. If you violate them while role-playing, you are in violation of UN resolutions, but if you never do anything but sign in to your country and wade through issues it gets, then, it's like the UN has nothing to do with you.

The UN resolutions are not enforced to the wording in RP, however they do affect your rankings, much as your issues do. That is enforced by the game program.

....they are in effect in your country under the role-playing of your country elsewhere.

However, the only way this is enforced is by other nations, and most don't bother (in fact, I'm probably the only one who pays any attention).

No offence, but, well, nevermind. I'm not in the UN, and don't care. I don't want some socialist wasteland in Africa running my nation, you know what I'm sayin'?
