I am new to this and was wondering where I should go looking for threads about the RP side. That is, money, arms, trading, all that jazz. I have been looking for a while, and there isn't anything clear that I've ran into just yet.

I'm fairly new too - I was directed to the "stickies" at the top of each forum; there're some about gameplay, and there're technical ones.

I'm trying to find out why somebody posted that my nation was too young for space travel - I'm not interested in space travel but I am convinced I've never seen anything to say I couldn't if I wanted to ...

The main things people seem to get their knickers in a twist about are; posting stuff that's obviously going to attract flaming;

"god-modding" e.g. playing unrealistically by inventing ever bigger and better impossible things to overcome your enemy, etc;

posting a question about one area (such as why the server is soooooooooo overloaded) in the wrong place (re above, maybe you'd posted it in the gameplay section instead of the technical section)

International Incidents is where you would find most RPs. Nation States may house a few, and other RPs pop up on the sidebar where thread topics appear.

I've had a nation for a while but just visited the forums for the first time today. I don't understand what all the role-playing is about. What effect does it have on your nation itself?

Role playing only affects your nation if you want it to. Ya see, lets say you are in a war, and lose....badly. Your official nation stats will not change. BUT, to RP well, you should take the fact that your military is gone into effect, since it doesn't get changed.
