progression of population?
does the population just go up a little bit each day? like 2-3 million? or does it accelerate when your population gets higher? Just wondering if anyone checkes that stuff. How long do you need to be around for it to reach a billion?

It depends on the size of your nation.
If you just start out, your population increases by 1 million per day.
As your nation grows, population will increase faster.

some issues also impact it
some issues also impact it
Are you sure? How?
I used to have a nation withthe highest political freedoms, civil rights, and economy. For a while it went up about 8 mil a day. Once it went up 10. I think oppressive countries have lower population growths.
With "Below Average" civil rights, but "Superb" political freedom, and "Very Strong" economy, how much will the population grows in a day?

Issues have absolutely no effect on your population. You start at 1 million per day and move up from there. At some point (I'm not sure the exact number) it increases either 5,6 or 7 million randomly. Unless you get the population bug (I believe that it's been eliminated) you will never gain more than 7 million in one day.

Your population doesn't grow faster because of issues. Issues don't affect it.
This is a wide-spread mistake, made by many players. But I think [violet] once said population wasn't influenced by issues.
So, what influence population?

The only thing that affects your population is time.
