Better Tax Issues!

God we've got to get better ways (or more effective issues) to control our tax rates.

My ITR reached 30% about 6 months after I started playing (back when there were only 20 different issues) which was incredibly realistic concidering the way I had answered my issues. Most experienced NSers will remember the old "citizens struggle under tax burden" issue.

Then we introduced custom issues, which I might add have been a great improvement to the game. However, all these new issues give us great new ways to spend our budgets (and subsequently raise out tax) but flood the issues line up and drown out the important issues that control tax rates, political freedoms etc.

My tax rate hit 50% around a month ago and I started dismissing all issues waiting for a tax lowering chance. My ITR however has climbed higher and higher and is now sitting above 70%. That’s ridiculous for any nation and I can't do a thing about it and haven’t seen a tax lowering issue in around a year!

What to do, what to do?

Any suggestions for slight game changes?

For the record I have tried to post a custom issue dealing with this twice and have been knocked back.

This is in need of more urgent repair!

I now exactly how you feel. I hit 100% a few months ago, and have basically given up all hope. If I could think of a good idea I would have writen an issue and submitted it.

The only thing i can think of is some sort of issue that will reduce government size/corruption/whatever and thereby lower taxes? My government seems to be huge, and I have no idea why. I'd love to shrink it.

I have written and submitted several wheich would help control taxes, unfortunantly they are still in que (as I understand there are like 8 thousand in que)
for the time being you can A, accept the tax rate, in Lop we RP it up,
we tax people 100% however we also have manditory military service, basically you server three years in the armed forces and you get access to the national Debit system, all your cash goes into it, and if you make 550L per week (about $1182.50 USD) then you can access up to 400L of debit currency a week (part is automatically credited to your retirement fund you can deduct more to it yo ucan also decide to allow your unspent loops to go into the general fund, or your retirement account with incentives for stuff, there are a lot of options )

or youcan B) just answer business friendly issues until it drops, although remember every time a Liberal agenda UN resolution passes, you get hit extra hard and taxes will skyrocket (poart of how mine got so big)

The UN part is so true. I've only voted 3 times to increase taxes, but my tax rate is 71% (been here for a year next month...)

UN DELEGATES PLEASE QUIT RAISING OUR TAXES!!!

Yeah...that contributed to my problem as well. Is this hard coded into the UN system? Why does it always happen?

it is based on Max's Book (I recommend reading it the game will make more sence then)
in the countries of America, there is no tax and businesses run everything, very corporate friendly, however in the countries not a part of America they ahve taxes, and are viewed as bad places to live.

part of the UN problem is peole seem to only know how to click the Strongly affect option. I usually abstain from voting so please dont blame me for ruining your taxes. I do believe everyoe voted blindly in UN matters.

Ah! I always wondered what stats the Strongly Affect (etc) settings were for. I presumed things like civil rights, but taxes didn't occur to me. I will pay more attention now, when (and how) I vote.

have abandoned the UN so this shouldn't effect me and I'm still at 72%.

Maybe we should just make up a morereasonable figure when we RP. The trouble is that we depend on our nations page for so many other things in RP.

CAN WE GET A MOD IN HERE!!!!!

I know how you all feel too. A little while ago my tax rate was at 95%, but I was lucky enough to get the "citizens struggle under unfair tax burden" twice so I could lower it. But I'm still at 51%.

I think we need a "Citizens Struggle Under Even-More-Unfair Tax Burden" issue. :?
