The foundation of 'nationstates' lies in its 'issues'. As such, a leader should expect that his or her decisions have the appropriate results. .....Now, I have found that this is not the case. This applies to both the way 'nationstates' calculates responses to issues, as well as how the forum treats the ratings of a particular nation. Let us first deal with the effects of a particular 'issue' response. Often times, it seems that the accepting of a certain proposition will lead to consquences not intended by the leader. I understand that the consquences are exagerated. However, i expect them to be consistent. Secondly, I do not beleive that Libertarian based nations are treated fairly in the forums. That is, on an economic level. The forums rely FAR to heavily on the income tax rate as an indicator of national wealth. This is an ignornant act indeed. The armies of truly free nations are funded privately or through direct tax. I believe that the freedom of a nation, combined with the strengthe of it's private enterprise, should determine the strength of it's armed forces.

I agree 100% with you... also, many economic choices never involve an option for a "participatory" or "collective" economy path; therefore never leaving the option to a libertarian-socialist leader to develop an anarcho-syndicalist economic system. On nearly any economic issue, the choices on the economic spectrum are usually narrowed down to only 3 forms of capitalism :

1) Soviet-style State Capitalism (if you've read Marx you know why I don't call that Communism)

2)Mildly regulated Capitalism (SocialDemocrat/Centrist oriented Capitalism)

3)Pro-multinational free trade orgy (Corporate Capitalism)

No choices towards syndicated and community-based organized economies

I agree--my government is libertarian (for the most part, anyway 8) ) and I don't even understand how it got stamped with the "wary of businesses" thing. It seems like liberal countries have crappy economies but happy people, and really conservative countries have "frightening" economies but unhappy people. Libertarianism should make everyone happy because you can do what you want.

NS does need a wider ranking system for the nations.
