What exactly can a nation like mine... do?

26-01-2004, 15:29
I tried starting something in the National Incidents forum, but I was told my nation was too young and I should wait a few weeks before I talk about my nation creating a crude nuclear power reactor.

Am I supposed to talk about developing coal power plants? I am afraid to join any of these threads about countries needing aid because I'll be told I can't possibly have doctors prepared to treat such wounds or something like that.

So, what do you recommend I do?

Hey buddy,

Lemme tell ya why they say you can't build that reactor. The only reason is because your too young a nation to have any type of Nuclear Technology. Just either wait a month or so, like I did, and start from there.

You can have experinced doctors if you need'em, just don't brag anything about it. The truth is, if you say you developed the experience for teaching doctors at schools and colleges and whatnot, that would be ok.

Don't worry so much, just have a proper amount of things that a young nation is the world would have. Like how I am restricting myself to such a small tank force is because I haven't the amount of budget for a nation my size to have a full-fledged force.

I spend my time with my Naval Units so I can use the offensivly AND defensivly, as the Air Force and Army are only for defense.

It'll all work out, don't worry too much. Just play fair and don't go putting up everything you discover, which should be alot, until you start with military buildup, which should be between 20-100-200 units in each branch, meaning Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Try your hardest and you'll get respected, yet if you don't do thinks fairly people would look down on that as Godmodding, like saying you nuked someone when your just a young nation that couldn't have that kind of technology UNLESS given by an ally.

Like I said, just work on it and keep tracks of what you got in military and research, like I do on Notepad Offline and all. It'll all, in the end, work out.

go to the RP university, read over some of the "Courses", do a little research-and don't go shouting "1 n00keD j00!!!" like some o' the 'tards around here.
I'm carefully working in a "Nice niche" for my nation- to have a big army, I didn't take lots and lots of hightech, instead, I went with a Swiss-model militia (easy enough when I selected "Compulsory Service" in the questionaire and then started dumping money into defense) armed with cheap (and I do mean "Cheap"-nobody uses most of that hardware anymore...) weapons that have their own unique benefits and drawbacks.
Make a lot of contacts by "Telegraph" before you try to post-in-character stuff, and remember to keep it "Limited"-I did a lot of screwing up just a week ago, and I'm paying for it now. (don't be like me-think it through first!)

When your not sure of something, don't be afraid to ask... Even I don't know some stuff and I'm a 1.299 billion pop nation...

So by everyones logic young nations start when? Do we start at the beginging in which case no nation is even past the stone age yet. Do we start now in which case we can have nuclear reactors as soon as we start? And what about those nations who live in the future?

Basicly some people will object, but there nothing they can do unless someone sits down and draws up a set of rules like you can have a nuclear reactor once you've been around for x number of weeks. And unless someone like max barry makes it 'the rules' still evryone will object.

I have heard people say that you can have Nuclear this and that, (ie Reactor/weapons) at 1 month old, a year old, once your population is over 100 million, once its over a billon ect.

I have started my own nuclear reactor program, and if anyone objects thats fine. I will point out I have Uranium mines, and as far as I can tell the oinly reason I would have uranium mines is for trade or for reactors/weapons. As far as my knowledge goes I am assuming my people have the current knowledge of a first world country, which would easily know how to build a nuclear reactor. For the budget I have no idea what it would cost, but something told me I had a budget for my military in the billons per year and so I will say i'm siphoning money of my military budget.

Finally somepeople will point out that in few weeks I couldnt built something like that, to them I say that while my nation has been around for a few weeks that is not gameplay time (which reminds me does anyone know how long a week is it game terms, I've heard a year, and I've also heard a month. As far as population growth goes it would seem to suggest a day is a year. so a week is 7 years. in which case its been long enough to have built a nuclear reactor, and be ready to test it.

If that nation still wants to ignore me thats fine. I ignore future and past threads purely because I have no interest in them. If they have no interest in a nation with a nuclear reactor that is fine.
