New gameplay features!

I think we are tired of this gameplay of issuse for long enough. We need a chnage. We need interesting aspects of nation-building, such as diplomatic chnnels with other nations, elections and people's popularity or opinion of the player's present government. Rebellion, riots and etc... will do nicely!

Well unless that internet chat held the other night with Mr. Barry included him mentioning it, it's rather a moot point. Whether we want more stuff or not, he has to have the time to make it so. As far as I know, he doesn't exactly have all that extra time on his hands. The entertainment in this game is in your creativity. You can have wars, riots, revolutions, terrorist activites, scandals, space development, diplomacy, alliances, rivalries, celebrations, epic events, etc. Find a region or post a thread that sounds inviting!

if someone with the resources to do what our host here has done, with some slightly different focus, such as that proposed, were to wish to do, well there's nothing to stop that as far as i know and this would certainly be welcome.

debate is not the alpha and omega of my existence

debate is often fallowed by de bate and switch.

i would simply prefer to live in a world not dominated by the tyranny of aggressiveness. roleplaying one would be the next best thing and could potentialy serve as a testbed for finding ways of achieving and implimenting such a hoped for objective.

i would also like to rollplay in a world where the oil has run out, the concept of money has become obsolete, and sentient society has evolved beyond the petty pseudo gratifications of armed conflict.

don't immagine there wouldn't be challanges and interesting ones aplenty, to keeping a sustainable balance that would keep everyone housed and fed and with opportunities for creative expression.

to me this would be a far more interesting focus then the contemporary politico-economics simulated here.

'mr berry's satires seem to focus on some of the current wrongs, that may be all well and good for selling books to the gullible massess. i for one would rather focus on real, sustainable and not satyricly draconic solutions.

to each their own of course. some folks loves ham hocks and some folks loves poke chops and some folks loves vegitable soup ...

so my feeling is to let this place be this place and let other places, many other places, many DIFFERENT KINDS of other places, come also into being.

To be honest, there's no reason why such a scenario shouldn't be RP'd here - though you might find it difficult getting enough people to RP with you, as the culture here (and possibly elsewhere) seems to be geared primarily to war.

Indeed - though everything in the current mindset does tend to degenerate to war. This seems to be across the board - try playing a non-militarist eco-based trade society in CivIII, for example.

The chat hasn't even been on yet.

...Yeah, I realized that about 5 minutes after I posted, but on a dial up and a picky forum, I gave up on trying... My bad!
