What's the official rules on puppet states and their involvement with the main state and such? Or is there a sticky and/or post I have overlooked?

Thanks a ton!

<----Is a puppet state of a larger, more prominent, more sexy nation.

<----Has about a dozen other puppets as well.

As long as just one's in the UN, you're gravy.

That's semi-helpful. What are the other rules, I mean there has to be more than just 1 in the UN.

I don't think there are official rules. However, it's almost always true that others will refuse to RP with you if you involve your puppets, unless it's a special circumstance (I.E. a Civil War or something).

Puppets are not all about RP , they're quite useful in gameplay matters, there are no real rules on them that don't apply to your main nation (spamming, flaming, etc). I know some players who have created over 200 nations.

OOC:

There have been discussions about this before but don't worry about apologizing for bringing it up. The purge beast got some of the threads that were quite lively regarding this subject - although they had to do more with nations selling nations.

For a somewhat related note and with apologies to EOTED in advance, check out this link:

Roycelandia has two puppets, but both of them are RPd as Colonies, so I don't see anyone having too many problems with that.

He was asking about rules, which is why I brought up the unofficial rules that pretty much preclude the use of puppets. Puppets make the non-RP side a lot more fun, especially when you get involved in regional politics :D

*shrugs* I don't RP and I don't understand RP, so I post purely from a regional politiking point of view. Puppets are very useful and fun... I have about 30 myself :D

To hell with selling that's lame as hell. Here is my situation. I have a commonwealth that I RP'd as annexed so thus it is part of my empire and when I do budgets and everything I factor it into my main nation. These two nations are combined into one, the empire of mine, and I was curious if that is cool but from what you all said it is, I mean after all its a double defense force. It wasn't mine originally so it's not like I created it and them RP'd, I annexed it from someone else who was leaving NS.

lol with the history, position, size and all the flags, Loop would be at least a hundred bucks or more.
but I dont plan on selling it, as it was my second nation, made because I couldnt get into the forums with my first nation.

Definetley not. Most people invest time in making their puppets unique, from neccecety or just for fun.
Even a brand new nation of mine wouldnt go for that, I pick all the mottos individually and everything.

Well here's the rules as they stnad for sure. You can have as many puppets as you want, but you can only have 1 nation in the UN. You can use them however you like. Annexing another country is fine and you can use it like a separate country or like a colony of your other nation that answers to your main one. "It's really up to you." hehehe.

OOC:

Personally, I feel that it's too easy to abuse puppets. Coming clean, I do have my main nation "Vrak" as mostly modern tech while another one is strictly future tech and I made it so that they will never interact. I also have one other nation but it acts as a mouthpiece for an organization so it's not a "nation" per say.

But really, a person can create 20 puppets, invade them, and then say they are his protectorates. It's baloney.
