The Pacific and other brutal regions

List 'em. Named and shamed, the regions that don't like dissent.

Include a bit of history too if you like, how a brutal regime came into existance there. For instance, I only know very vaguely and one sidedly what happened in the Pacific that let Franco gain power.

Actually, how about a top 10 list of the most oppressive and intolerant regions to live in?

i broke almost all those rules, franky even called me a criminal by nature :D

but seriously, this was posted in the part of his forum which requires registration, so it's hardly public, many new nations are in violation of these rules without even knowing they exist, and just get banned, without as much as a warning.

that's good for you, but it would be nice of you if you would explain why, thus adding to the discussion, instead of just throwing around hollow phrases.

you do realise we are talking about francos spain in the pacific, don't you?
although it's hard to miss.

i'll try to dig up some relevant threads on this subject later on, and post them over here.

I wonder why all Franco "Lovers" seem to revel in the torture of the innocents. WHAT DERANGED THOUGHTS GO THROUGH THEIR MINDS.
Are sadistic people born and bred,or are they figments of their own imaginations. Have you seen Poskrebyshevs latest motto, is he in competition with franco to see who can come up with the funniest.
Their both a joke themselves any way.

well, i don't like franky much (i think that's pretty clear), but he does have a sense of humor.
when he kicked out about 40 to 60 (or even more, don't know) liberators, he changed his name into: the bootingmachine of francos spain. ;)

yes, i know, it's a shame..
i like cor, and she is my friend, but i don't like the way she's running monte carlo.

she even kicked out one of my friends, i think she's getting a bit paranoid.

It would appear to me that all region leaders get paranoid pretty quick, once your up there you have to stay there,so your actively on the look out for the the take over merchants, trying to be one jump ahead all the time.

It is a shame what happened in Monte Carlo. Even nations who enter without UN status and carrying the white flag get booted. It does seem to go against everything defenders stand for... but I haven't really heard Corinthe's side of the argument...

Has anyone seen whast's going on in Zealotine though? There's some classic tyranny...

Yes paranoia and power seem to go hand in hand.
As for Cor, well she probably feels a little insecure, she knows a fair few people would like to see here humbled.
On Franco's. I like him too. I know many will disagree, but the Pacific is a pretty calm place to llive in, I have puppets there. He adds colour to the game, and is a handy/occasional distraction to defender regions, not that the invaders ever seem able to capitalise on it of course!
What about the other Pacifics? I dont really pay much attention to them, but I think I read about most of them banning endorsement swapping and some other stuff, are they heading that way aswell?

Yes - she did - I was not happy about it, but it's her region to run, not like it's a feeder or anything.

About the Pacific ... well, I'm living there now, if you care to click and check my location ... although I'm actually a member of the FPA, lately I've stopped caring as much. FS/Posk will never be gotten rid of until they leave voluntarily. *shrugs*

If you want to find old threads about the situation, do a search on author posts of FS. He got deleted between August and now, but it still gives you most of the relevant threads.

Hmm- North Pacific just went through a power change, very peaceful and friendly. They are, by my standards, the most policitally free region. (Of course, it was a power change between friends.) South Pacific did as well, because the delegate retired and the old one came back... they allow a decent level of endorsement swapping. West Pacific... have very structered election rules, which have currently been suspended, if you get above 300 endorsements, you'll get booted (still a far cry from Posk's 15). East Pacific - what's there to say about that... loop's a nice guy, but he definitely doesn't allow anyone else near his seat.
