I got a huge kick out of it. That's the kind of stuff that makes NationStates fun.
I was half-expecting something, but nothing like this. I got my first "april fool" when my dumbass friend came into my room and farted on me in the middle of a Halo 2 game, then unplugged my Xbox controller and yelled "april fools!" and strings of swear words for the next 15 minutes. How clever.

I would've thought that the "war is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength" section at the bottom would've been a hint :P but seeing as it constitutes Bushes policies I can see this mistake being made. I was sorta hoping for more though. Maybe a message that Max barry has closed the site due to unsubstainable costs of operation.

I think it was great. And yeah I was had too until I saw the 1984 quote. Really though, shouldn't it have been a jennifer government quote? More subtle, less recognizable....I own the book, but I may not have caught on quite as quickly as with a 1984 quote.

Then I wrote the Moderator and they sent me a real official looking telegram and slaped me in the face with April Fools! I was had real bad. My wife laughed at my for about five minutes. The Stargate Å is, as per the movie, the origin symbol--the seventh symbol. Thus, it is legitimate as a self-referential address... just like the patches that the SG teams use, as my friend is quick to point out.
