The radio shack was no problem, nor were the barracks, the sleeping occupants never getting a chance to wake up before being stunned. Twenty minutes later a small armored convoy rolled in, picked up the strike team and the unconscious DN soldiers and left, leaving behind and empty base with no sign of any fighting to indicate that anything had happened.

In the back of on of the IFVs...
Killa tossed a can towards his opposite number. "Good work, I know it wasn't easy, but it's a sight better than killing them." The Leiutenant pulled out his own can, and opening it, took a long drink.

The Draconian soldiers were glad to get away from the place.

Jordan stood beside General Flack as they watched the convoy roll into the base. "It's not much, but it's a start."

General Flack nodded, "It all has to start somewhere," he said.

A soldier with the insignia of a communications specialist came up behind them. "Sir, a message for you." She said as she handed Jordan a message pad.
Jordan took it, read it once, then read it again with disbelief before handing it back. "Thank you Private."
He turned to General Flack. "It appears sir that the Joint Chiefs of Staff have decided my performence has warented a promotion to General. I'm not sure whether I should be please that they have placed such confidence in me, or scared by the fact it means I'm going to be stuck in command of this campaign. I was rather hoping they'd send someone to replace me so I could get back to just commanding a fighter wing."

"Well congradulations on your promotion," the general said, managing a slight grin.
01-05-2004, 20:44
"Thanks, I never really thought all those lectures by dad on tactics would come in use, I always told him I was a pilot and didn't need to know about such things. Somehow I get the feeling he's laughing somewhere at this turn of events."

General Flack nodded, "Probably," he agreed.

Elsewhere...

A by now familiar shadowy figure formed up behind the man. "So you're Azazel, for an all powerful son of a bitch you're not much to look at."

"So what do we do now?" General Flack asked.
01-05-2004, 23:55
"We work our way up to bigger things." Jordan replied. "And once we get the artillery and airdropped versons of the stunners, we'll really step up operations. We've got to move fast before they find a way to defend against it."

"Right," the general said, rubbing his eyes.
02-05-2004, 00:04
"You realise that they will eventually find a defense if this war goes on long enough, and when that happens, the real bloodshed will most likely begin."

"There would be next to none if we just let the fates carry out their work," General Flack told him.
02-05-2004, 00:11
"You have your fates, we have ours, and they seem to be in disagreement on this. Ours are saying we have to get invovled, yours are saying we shouldn't. Quite fascinating really when you stop to think about it."

"And this is our land, the fate of this kingdom is in the hands of our fates,"
02-05-2004, 00:16
Jordan shrugged. "It's beyond my control, or the control of any mortal what happens. The winds of time blow strong and we must do our best to ride them out."

"Well in that case my men and I would rather spend what little time there is before ragnarok with our families," the general scowled.
02-05-2004, 00:31
"General, a deal has been struck between gods, I watched it happen with what was left of my father as the go between, if it truely came down to it I would be willing to challenge one set of gods, but never two when they are in agreement on something. I'll see that me and my people keep the promise that was made. You'll have our help, but the final outcome will be up to you and your people. But until then, we will continue to shed our blood in your cause. Goodnight General." Jordan said as he turned and left.

"Wow what a stuck up arrogant prick," came a voice from behind the general.

General Flack turned to see a lean blond man leaning against a tree, he had a mischevous grin on his face. "Shit," the general swore, it was Loki.
02-05-2004, 00:38
"You should speak. Have you looked in a mirror recently?" Came from behind Loki.

"Well if it isn't Mr I'll start ragnarok himself," Loki remarked turning around.
02-05-2004, 00:46
The figure that stepped out from behind the tree wasn't one that had been seen before. This one was surrounded by threads of mist that shivered from black to white, tall, almost etherial, and most decidedly female. "You want a mini-Ragnarok, keep it up. For the first time in millenia the gods, the gods of the people you so easily dismiss, myself among them have come togeather, bound by a common interest. And several of them are only just being held back from acting on their own. I am the only one who made any promises about this conflict, the rest are free to act as they wish."

"Well your people are still here, attacking Azazels forces and the fates do not like that, hence why I am out of my prison," Loki replied. "Thor was a fool to reach a comprimise, it was either Azazel free to rule and the system safe for many millenia or Azazels forces are attacked by outsiders which causes ragnarok."
02-05-2004, 00:53
An decidedly unnerving and unpleasent smile crossed her face. "And who is to say that some of us would not welcome such an outcome trickster?"

02-05-2004, 00:54
"So you are planning on the death of billions then?"

Behind her suddenly everything Grimdalian disappeared. Back on Earth soldiers looked around in confusion as they reappeared in a deserted field.

"How about we skip the pleasentries and get right down to the nitty gritty." Behind and to either side of her figures faded in, some wreathed in fire, many not even humanoid, some so radically outragious that merely seeing them would drive most minds insane. Hundreds upon hundreds of figures that stretched to the horizon and beyond. More familiar shapes were also among them, humans and other races, many that had long ago disappeared from existance.
"Shall we begin?" She asked. "It's been a rather long time since we last destroyed another mythology."

"Ragnarok would mean that the people would have an afterlife but because of your interference they are not going to even exist anymore," Loki replied, "And soon neither will I." Already his hand was transperant.
02-05-2004, 01:36
"And when are you and your kind going to figure out that me and my kind don't really care."

OOC: TAKE TWO PEOPLE!

IC: As the gods faced off, a figure appeared between them. "Why don't you both stop acting like children?"
"Gabriel, how dare you interfere with the business of the gods?"
"I dare because I set this up in part. Mind you, it wasn't easy getting the lot of you off Earth and still maintain a presence here, but I managed, just."
The goddess's eye's opened wide. "You didn't?!"
Gabriel nodded, his eyes never leaving hers. "The power of my people which you and your kind have kept surpressed for so long out of fear has been releashed and we have become far more powerful than even you imagined. And frankly, we don't want you around anymore."
Gabriel snapped his fingers and the assembled gods vanished. Gabriel turned to Loki, continue with your 'master plan', but leave me and mine out of it or the same shall happen to you."

"Then make your people go back to to grimmyville or whatever your country is called and leave Draconis Nightcrawlis to it's fate," Loki told him.
02-05-2004, 02:00
"Done and done." He said as he vanished.
