"Evening Kurt, this shouldn't take long with any luck. Gabriel left a message for you in case of his death. It's fairly important, so I apologise if I was a little pushy earlier."
Drognan
25-01-2004, 23:38
Kaz nodded, "So what was your intent on bringing me here then?"
25-01-2004, 23:38
OOC: The server's acting up again.
Drognan

"No prob," Kurt replied.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
25-01-2004, 23:43
OOC: Server acting up, nothing new there. I'm used to it now, just be patient
25-01-2004, 23:47
"That would be getting you that weapon. I store stuff I find usefull in this backpack. But if it's unlikely I'll need it immediately I store it here upstairs."
Drognan
25-01-2004, 23:50
Kaz nodded, "So then whatever weapon you have for me is upstairs?"
26-01-2004, 00:15
"I'll play that message now."

As it had with the message to Kurt's parents, Gabriel's image sprang up. "Hi Kurt, if you're recieving this particular message then you accepted my offer. You've got a long hard road ahead of you, with it's share of joys and sorrows. But you're strong enough to manage. Keep yourself in shape mentally and physically, people depend on you now." The hologram paused. "If you're going to be taking my job, you'll need the proper tols and information. With that in mind the next part of this message contains the procedure and password for complete access to Arthur's databanks and my equipment. All my own children are long dead, so you get my inheritence. Ask Arthur for Ultimate Clearence, when asked for the password repeat this phrase. "I tread the path between light and dark, good and evil. Though my path at times may be unclear, my determination to see justice done will show me the way. I am the shield that protects the innocent, and the sword that is their venegence. Under my gaze evil shall cower and good shall spread forth."" The hologram paused again before speaking. "Good luck Kurt, I'm proud of you. And I thank you for giving me a peace I could not find on my own. End message."
26-01-2004, 00:25
Braun nodded. "That's right."
Braun took Kaz upstairs and into a bedroom that contained little besides a bed and several large chests.
"Over my years wandering I've picked up quite a few interesting things. This is where I keep them."
He whistled and intricate tune and one of the chests opened up. "I've magicked the chest to keep any thieves from getting into them."
He Braun reached into the chest and pulled out a long, narrow wrapped bundle. Unwrapping it revealed a massive ebony sword that glowed slightly. Braun took it by the hilt and winced once.
"I don't know the full story behind this sword. Much information was lost regarding it's past. What I do know is that back during one of the demon wars, the forces of the mortal plane were losing badly. This blade was created to turn the tide of that war. A dragon gave it's life to create this blade, it was tempered in the dragon's blood and the dragon's soul was sealed within. It glows to warn it's owner whenever demons are around, and it's mere touch is doom for them."
Braun handed the blade to Kaz, and it could be seen that where his hand had held the sword it was badly burned.

Kurt stood there silently for a moment.

"I wish Gabriel hadn't died so soon," he sighed.

"I wish Gabriel hadn't died so soon," he sighed.
26-01-2004, 00:38
"I also wish that was the case, but it isn't. Please request Ultimate Clearence and give the password."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
26-01-2004, 00:42
Kurt nodded. "I request Ultimate Clearence," he said. "I tread the path between light and dark, good and evil. Though my path at times may be unclear, my determination to see justice done will show me the way. I am the shield that protects the innocent, and the sword that is their venegence. Under my gaze evil shall cower and good shall spread forth."
26-01-2004, 00:57
"Ultimate Clearence request vertified, access to all data is now availible, access to all equipment is now availible, access to all functions are now availible, access to all rooms is now availible. You have been vertified as an Ultimate Clearence user. Congradulations Kurt, this is all yours now. In place of the German classes you don't need anymore I'll be starting to teach you about dimensional jumping and other things now revelent to you."
Drognan
26-01-2004, 00:57
Kaz took the sword uneasy, looking at it with a slight bit of unceartinity. He looked at Braun's hand, "Are you going to be fine?" He looked at the blade again, and he ran his hand along the blade.
26-01-2004, 01:01
"I'll be fine Kaz, you forget that I'm half demon. If I were a full demon, merely touching that blade would have killed me instantly, as it is, it does no more than burn me. I'm also the reason it's glowing, if a full demon were present it would be glowing brightly enough to use as a lantern. There is much ancient power in that blade, but the staff is enough for me, the sword is yours to do with as you wish."

26-01-2004, 01:37
"Ok," Kurt replied, this was all a bit bewildering for him.

OOC SHOOTS SERVER!

IC As Kaz reached the tip of the blade, he closed his eyes, bringing the blade to his forehead. After a moment he opened his red and blue eyes and the resembled cat-like ones, as he use to have in his old body. A look of awe was striken over his face, and his eyes faded back to normal as he pulled the blade to his side. "Thank you Braun, I will take great care of this blade.."
26-01-2004, 01:47
"Kurt, I'm truely sorry that this all got dumped on you. But I'll clarify things, you are now in the position Gabriel had. This entire structure is yours, as is all the information contained within."
26-01-2004, 01:49
Something hot blazed behind both Braun's and Marciel's eyes. "Wield it well Kaz, for it is with that blade I slew my own father, though it cost me dearly."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
26-01-2004, 01:55
"Yeah, I understand all that," the prince nodded.
26-01-2004, 01:59
"Well sleep on it Kurt, for tomorrow is the start of a whole new era. Class starts at nine tomorrow."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
26-01-2004, 02:09
Kurt nodded and left the room. He was glad that the hallway was still deserted as he ducked into his bedroom.
26-01-2004, 02:16
"He'll do well enough, his heart is in the right place."
"That may be Gabriel, but he is still young." Arthur replied to the spectre.
The blue tinted ghost merely shrugged. "I was not much older when it happened, and if it had been my choice, he would have still had a few years before he needed to choose."
"Will you be staying long?"
"I honestly don't know, I'll leave when the time is right, until then I'll be around, even if it isn't obvious. I'll be keeping watch over Kurt as long as I can. His legend will not be cut short if I can help it."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
26-01-2004, 02:23
Kurt didn't go to sleep right away. For a while, he just lay there listening to music. Finntroll was always a favourite of his. He eventually did fall asleep, but he couldn't rember what time it had been.
26-01-2004, 02:31
OOC: OK, fess up, who likes the ghost idea? I ony just came up with it today.

IC: Arthur finished sorting out the information he'd be providing for Kurt's lessons the next day and retreated into the state that in him passed for sleep, though he was still fully aware of all that went on.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
26-01-2004, 02:41
OOC: Makes sense that he'd come back in one form or another, a ghost fits in perfectly.

IC:

It was just before 8am when Kurt awoke. He teleported to the kitchen for his daily morning rampage through the fridge.

Arthur waited patently for Kurt to arrive for classes.

26-01-2004, 06:09
Kaz nodded, "I can understand.." He looked at the blade again, "Dont worry, I will gaurd it and keep it safe, I promise it."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
26-01-2004, 15:12
It was before 9am that Kurt made it to where Arthur was waiting for him.
26-01-2004, 16:19
"Good morning Kurt, did you sleep well?"
26-01-2004, 16:20
"Now that you're armed, we just need to find you that familar."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
26-01-2004, 16:21
"I guess," Kurt replied with a yawn.
26-01-2004, 16:47
"Good, because we've got a lot to go over. Mainly exactly what you got from Gabriel and how it's going to affect you."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
26-01-2004, 17:05
"Right," Kurt nodded, wondering what exactly he had let himself in for.
26-01-2004, 17:14
"First your biological age will stabilise somewhere in your early twenties. As time passes your physical strength will increase several hundred fold. Mental capabilities will also increase, though to a lesser degree. You will become immune to posion and chemicals. You have also become an energy sink. Energy of any type, heat, light, radiation, etc, you'll absorb passively and be able to control. With time you'll gain the experiance to actively pull in energy. Your senses of hearing, sight, touch, taste, and smell will all increase to various degrees. You will also be able to snese energy fields around you. You getting all this Kurt?"
Draconis Nightcrawlis
26-01-2004, 17:19
Kurt nodded. "Yes I am," he said, it was still alot to take in for the young prince.
26-01-2004, 17:21
"Some other things may happen, but I'm not sure exactly what. Gabriel came from human stock, and apparently a lot of latent abilities like telekinesis were opened up. In your case I don't know what might activate."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
26-01-2004, 17:46
"Thats something to look forward to then," Kurt remarked.
26-01-2004, 18:28
"Now about dimesional and temporal jumping. Everything is compared to what is called the baseline dimension. It's simply a dimension we picked so we have something to use as a comparision. That means we can say that a specific dimension has a forty percent collalation to the base timeline. It makes it easier to determine what effects any given actions might cause. There are several types of dimensions. Fantasy dimensions are any dimension that allows the use of magic, but don't use technology above water power. Tech dimensions are where magic doesn't exist and everything has to done with machines. Gabriel home dimension would qualify in that regard. Mixed dimensions combine elements of the other two. There are also the weird dimensions, they're called that because they shouldn't work, but they sometimes do. These often come about from the ideas of people in other dimensions, a famous book or television series, if enough people truely believe in it, will sometimes form it's own dimension."
26-01-2004, 18:37
"Now that you're armed, we just need to find you that familar." Braun said.

OOC: Repeating this in case it was missed.
Drognan
26-01-2004, 18:37
"Yes," Kaz nodded, looking up at Braun, "So should we go back to my home where it may possibly be? Or do you think that we should look somewhere else?"
Drognan
26-01-2004, 18:38
OOC lol, same time
26-01-2004, 18:40
"Back to your home I think. Unless you suspect that it may have followed us here."
Drognan
26-01-2004, 19:02
"I dont really know if would have followed us or not, But maybe we should head back"
26-01-2004, 19:14
"Of course. Let me just say my goodbyes and we can be going."

A few minutes and a teleport later they found themselves back at Kaz's castle.

Kaz walked the hall to the throne room, not opening the doors yet. He looked around for a moment, then he opened the dorrs, and walked up the stairs to the chair and the desk. He rummaged through things in the desk, till he found a sheet of paper. After staring at it for a moment, he put it back and came back down the stairs. "I dont have a clue where to start."

OOC: I am going to kill this server.

IC: Braun leaned back against the wall next to the door. "Let's start with the basic's then. Have you noticed any particular animal folowing you around, a sense of being watched perhaps?"
Drognan

IC:

"So can the baseline be any dimension or does it have to be one in particular?" Kurt asked.

27-01-2004, 01:56
"Feasibly yes, but we always used Gabriel's origional time line, because right up until his world blew itself apart, it matched the majority of timelines."
27-01-2004, 03:45
OOC: Sorry to make you wait Drognan, but it lost my post and then wouldn't let me back in.

OOC KILL THE SERVER!!!! ((Chants of thousands chanting 'Kill the server!'))

BWHAHAHAHAHH

IC:: Kaz nodded, "It may seem so but if it is why hasn't it wanted to show itself?"
27-01-2004, 16:34
"It doesn't really matter, that's for you to choose."
27-01-2004, 16:36
"Well, if I had to guess, I'd say it was because of your most recent actions. More bondings occur for life, and a familar won't pick someone they think is unsuitible."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
27-01-2004, 17:44
"I'll use my dimension then," Kurt said, "especially since I know more of its history then I do of other dimensions."
27-01-2004, 23:33
OOC: I am going to kick this server so hard that the inventor of the abaceus won't be able to sit down for a month.

IC: "Good enough then, it'll take me a couple of days to redo all of the statistics to reflect that, but that shouldn't cause us any problems."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
27-01-2004, 23:51
OOC: If the server wasn't already dead, i'd kill it myself.

IC:

"Right, as long as it's no inconveniance to you," Kurt replied.
28-01-2004, 04:08
OOC: Strangles the server

IC: "Not really, it'll give me something to do."
Drognan

OOC DIE SERVER!!

IC Kaz nodded to Braun's statement, "Yes.. I suppose that is very true."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
28-01-2004, 14:49
"Ok," Kurt nodded.

That was one less thing for him to worry about.
28-01-2004, 16:05
"Temporal jumping ia an entirely different kettle of fish. And in someways even more complicated than dimensional jumping. The first thing you have to realise is that every time a decision is made by anyone, no matter how inconsquintal, for each possible decision a new timeline is created. The other thing is, the second you enter a timeline, you become part of that timeline, and another timeline splits off where you never arrived. A consequence of this is that you can never go back in time within a timestream, when jumping dimensions, you can enter the timestream at any point, but once in the timestream you can only move forward."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
28-01-2004, 16:10
"I'm sure Gabriel mentioned something like that."
28-01-2004, 22:11
OOC:: Gonna kill this server.

IC: "He probibly did."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
28-01-2004, 23:16
"He did," Kurt sighed, "It was when he was going on about going back to that dimension to check up on it."

OOC: They really need to sort this f***ing server out
28-01-2004, 23:58
OOC: No kidding

IC: "Well to continue. In some cases, one can in fact travel backwards through time, but depending on the caracteristics of that specific dimension, several things can happen, most of them very bad."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
29-01-2004, 00:19
"Like being turned inside out?"
29-01-2004, 00:25
"Not so much to the time travelers as to the timeline, or even the entire dimesion. A small act can propagate into unforseen consequences hundres of years down the line. In the worst cases, the entire dimension, along with all the timelines contained within it, can literally be destroyed, made to be as if they had never been."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
29-01-2004, 00:28
"Thats not good," Kurt said with a shudder.
29-01-2004, 00:44
"It's for reasons like that Gabriel never went back and tried to prevent what happened to his world. And I personally think that the knowledge he might have been able to do something, and never did, haunted him his entire life."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
29-01-2004, 00:50
"Going back in time and changing something can cause yourself to no longer exist," Kurt said, remembering something a professor had once told him.
29-01-2004, 03:27
"There was also that, it's called the Gradfather deilmia. And with Gabriel, he had to consider all the people he wouldn't have been able to help had things gone back to the way they should have been."
Drognan
29-01-2004, 04:44
OOC i had a wiz, he had a copper drag wyrmling for a familiar, but i dont want to do that cuz u have marciel as your companion so that would be jackin lol, but i have all my books wit familiars out in front of me so im lookin at em

Ic Kaz pulled the blade from his side, "I wonder what it is that is watching me..." He twirled the blade once, almost fumbuling it. "And maybe im not cut for this warrior stuff.."
29-01-2004, 05:14
Braun grinned. "I'm sure that you'll be a great fighter, and if you want any sword fighting tips you could always ask Gabriel." Braun's smile disappeared. "Dreknet, I forgot for a moment. He was easily the best sword fighter I'd ever seen. He was so alive when I first met him, it's hard to believe he's dead. I'll never forget that day."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
29-01-2004, 17:34
"I've heard about that," Kurt said. "He was right this is as much a curse as it is a blessing."
29-01-2004, 18:02
"It's not an easy job, that's for certain."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
29-01-2004, 18:05
Kurt rubbed his eyes as he nodded, "Not even the Gods can help everyone," he remarked.
29-01-2004, 18:10
"No they can't, but they can help people to where they can help themselves."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
29-01-2004, 18:24
"Yeah they can."
29-01-2004, 18:37
"Kurt, don't ever forget, you are not more importent than anyone else. You start thinking like that and before long you begin to see other people as expendible, as less than yourself. And once that happens, abuses of power come shortly after."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
29-01-2004, 20:40
"I know, I know," Kurt nodded, remembering the same speech his father had given him on many occasions
30-01-2004, 00:26
"Make sure that you do Kurt, because now more than ever you have the power to cause either great harm, or great good."

"Seeing Gabriels home dimension, I wouldn't want to do that to anywhere," the young prince replied.
30-01-2004, 01:43
Gabriel voice came from behind Kurt. "Tell him Arthur, tell him what really happned." The pale blue, nearly translucent spectre's face was grim as he leaned against the wall.
"Do you think he should know yet?"
Gabriel nodded. "It's his right, he needs to know."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
30-01-2004, 01:47
"Know what?" Kurt asked, he was worried about he would be about to find out.
30-01-2004, 02:59
"Gabriel's world shouldn't have died. In fact it wouldn't have had there not been outside interference. A race from another dimension, triggered the war. They believed themselves the perfect species, and had tried to turn all the other species in their universe into themselves, those which couldn't make the change were destroyed, those that did were absorbed. Suffice to say that one day they ran out of other races to rework. They'd consumed an entire universe. So they started work on others. Making changes to the genetic structure on other planets in other dimensions. They considered humans a failure, so they cleansed the problem. Being practical they used the simplest technique possible. Gabriel's world had only just started coming out of a cold war, tensions were still high. It wasn't too hard to launch a pair of missiles on trajectories that caused both of the major superpowers to believe the other had launched an attack."

"The murdering bastards." Gabriel's spectre growled from it's place by the wall.
Arthur continued. "We never would have learned that except for the fact we happened to be on a world they attempted to destroy, this time with an asteroid impact. After we stopped the attack, we tracked them back to their own dimension where we learned what they had done." Arthur paused, the silence dragging out.

"They could have done that to my world couldn't they."
30-01-2004, 04:23
"No they couldn't." The voice of Gabriel's spectre was harsh. "They're dead, all of them."
Arthur continued, his voice wavering somewhere between awe and horror. "Gabriel did something he almost never did, he lost his temper."
"I destroyed an entire universe that day. Kurt, if you have ever doubted that the universe is a living thing, I'll tell you right now it most definately is." The spectre's voice dropped to almost a hush, and was choked and filled with pain. It's image wavered, almost losing cohersion. "It screamed Kurt, the universe screamed in pain as I tore it apart. With every line of force I shredded it screamed, it screamed like all the combined tortured souls that had ever resided in hell. And it's screams tore at one's soul. Deity forgive me, I killed it!"

Kaz sighed, sheathing his sword again, but unhitching it and setting it upon the desk. Hes wings twitched a little and he stretched them out for a quick moment, and looked down upon the stairs. He seemed to just stay silent thinking for the while.

OOC Ahh im going to shoot the server and myself... the server for bein stupid and me for not bein able to find a good familiar yet! grr ok enough complanin.
30-01-2004, 05:37
Braun's gaze had become unfocused, no longer seeing the present, but the distant past.
"We were in a tough spot, I'd joined with a merchant caravan for a trip through a dangerous area. In retrospect myself and Marciel would have been safer simply traveling by ourselves. There were about thirty of us. A week and a half out we were ambushed. Archers opened fire from the woods on either side of the road, half the guards died in the first few seconds, I ended up with a shaft in my leg and another in my right arm. When the arrows stopped coming, roughly a hundred fifty men stepped out of the woods, all of them heavily armed. With my leg immobilized I was in no position to fight, and with a shaft in my arm I couldn't use any magic. They killed the lead merchant, and then started looting and killing. All of the sudden three of the bandits dropped all at once with arrows in their backs. And then Gabriel was among them. His sword blazing like the heart of the sun. With every thrust and slash another bandit dropped. I've never seen anything like it. Within only a minute or so half the bandits lay dead and the rest broke and ran for the woods. To shorten the story, Gabriel burned the shafts out of my arm with energy and then healed the wounds. He was so vibrant and alive, it was almost as if the very air around him simmered. And his gaze, it made one think he was looking deep into your soul. He disappeared almost as fast as he had arrived. At the time I didn't even know his name." Braun shook his head. "It was a long time before I got a chance to repay him, we traveled togeather for a while, had a few adventures, and then he disappeared. And I never saw him again until we called for his help."

Kurt didn't know how to reply to that. It actually scared him somewhat.
30-01-2004, 17:23
Gabriel's form faded and seemed to almost melt into the wall as it disappeared.
"Kurt, one thing you must learn, you can never, never completely lose your temper, for any reason, the damage you could do in even a few seconds is beyond anyone's comprehension." Arthur said, breaking the silence.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
30-01-2004, 17:49
"I understand," Kurt nodded.
30-01-2004, 20:20
"I hope so, because I can guarrentee that there will be times you lose your temper, even Gabriel's ridged self-control slipped on what were frotunately very rare occasions, what happened their was the extreme end of possible consequences."

30-01-2004, 20:38
Kurt rubbed his head, this wasn't going to be easy. "Nothing in life is easy," he said.
30-01-2004, 20:40
"I suspect that may be a part of why Gabriel's spirit is hanging around. Guilt over dumping this on you, he's trying to do what he can to ease the burden."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
30-01-2004, 20:46
Kurt nodded. "In the end I was the one who said yes," he replied.
30-01-2004, 20:49
"Yeah, but he was the one who put you in the position of making that decision."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
30-01-2004, 21:05
"I put myself in that position by disobeying my parents and sneaking out at night," Kurt told him. "I would not have met Braun and Kaz and I would never have later met Gabriel."
30-01-2004, 21:13
"And Gabriel didn't have to come and save your collective asses. He didn't have to burn his life energy off fighting Nerull and saving Kaz. He didn't have to become your teacher and bodyguard. But he did. You do not want to get into placing the blame, because you want to do that, we can backtrack all the way to the race that destroyed Gabriel's world, and even farther back to the politicions would allowed such weapons to be created in the first place and so on down the line. So put it out of your mind Kurt."

Kaz quietly listened to Braun, yet he still said nothing in response. Looking over his desk, he quietly slid his hand over the desk, stoping at one spot. Feeling over hte spot, he pressed down, and the desk had a hidden spot, and a book was in it, and old dusty book. Kaz pulled it out, dusting it off with his black wing, and reading the top, "Top Secret. Bloodlines of Drognan's Powers."

Kaz eyed the book strangley.. he wanted to open it to read, but he dared not incase of what may be in it. The book was simply at least a few centuries old, the pages were made of hand made paper parchments, and the cover was old leather, almost cracking. Kaz stared at the book for a moment in silence.
30-01-2004, 23:57
Arthur poured over the data, fascinated. changes were being made throughout Kurt's DNA. Strands that had previously been inactive were starting to show signs of life, while completely new ones were being formed. By the time Arthur had been able to run a similar scan on Gabriel, most of the changes had already taken place, and he'd not had a baseline to work against. But in this case Arthur had a copy of Kurt's origional DNA pattern, and the changes were startlingly obvious. None of the changes looked to be dangerous, but Arthur resolved to keep a close eye on them nonetheless.
30-01-2004, 23:59
Braun noticed the appearence of the book and walked over to the desk. Eyeing the title he couldn't help but remark. "You know, it would have been real nice to have found that a few weeks ago."

OOC: Damn computer crashed, lost what I was going to post :x

IC:

The room was now dark as Kurt had turned all the lights off. He'd had bad headaches like this before so he hoped this one was the same. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep.
31-01-2004, 01:23
OOC: Going to kill this server.

IC: When Arthur finally went to standby that night, a lot of data had been processed and a lot of possible outcomes had been theorized. But as Gabriel had told Arthur more than once. "All the theorizing in the world doesn't do anything to change what actually happens, all you can hope to do is get it close enough to what reality will be to make things a little easier."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
31-01-2004, 01:39
Kurts eyes opened with a sudden jerk. Obviously sleeping wasn'y going to cure his headache. Instead he teleported to the bathroom to get some paracetamol from the cabinet.
31-01-2004, 01:41
Kurt's actions had not gone unnoticed by Arthur. "Something wrong Kurt?"
Draconis Nightcrawlis
31-01-2004, 01:44
"Headache," Kurt said as he rumaged through the cabinet. "Nothing to worry 'bout, I get them sometimes."
31-01-2004, 01:49
"Regulary? That shouldn't be happening, I wish Gabriel was here, he had a knack for dealing with the medical side of things."
Gabriel's head and shoulder's suddenly popped through a wall. His form even more transparent and wavy than it had been earlier in the day. "Hell, I may not be able to operate anymore, but I can damn well diagnose. Do they coincide with those dreams of yours by any chance?"
Drognan
31-01-2004, 01:51
Kaz quietly responded this time, "Why is that?"
Kaz stared at the book still, daring himself to open it, only because something told him to, it held something he must know.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
31-01-2004, 01:53
Kurt shook his head. "No," he replied. "I wouldn't call them regular, I just get a headache now and then, especially at my old school."
31-01-2004, 01:54
"Because the one thing you had way too much of before the soulsplitting was power. Power that couldn't be controled." Braun gestured toward the book. "This might have been some use."
31-01-2004, 02:29
OOC: May I just say that Kurt has been taking the appearence and actions of a ghost rather well. Not even a hint of surprise. Any particular reason for that?

IC: Gabriel floated the rest of the way out of the wall. "What do you mean more often at your old school?"

OOC2: Kill server, kill server, kill server.....
Drognan
31-01-2004, 02:42
Kaz looked at the book still. "I wish to open it.. but something else tells me that I will not like the information from it.."
31-01-2004, 02:48
"The choice is yours Kaz, but whether you want the information within it or not, I doubt that it revealed itself to you now without reason after all these years of remaining hidden."

OOC: He's a teenager, been desensitized by films. That and the fact some of the castles he's stayed at have their own ghosts.

IC:

"Stress related I guess," Kurt realised, "I'd get them around an importaint test or when my studying was hard. I really don't think this headache is really anything to get worried about, I mean everyone gets them now and then."

Kaz stared through the dusty book, thinking about opening it. He then set the book down upon the table, sliding his hand over to the clasp that held it shut. He gently undid it, as to not damage the book at all, and he opened it, the first page being slightly smeared.

As he looked at it, he was albe to descipher the scripts. He quietly spoke, "It has leaders of drognan dating back before I was born.. this book is clearly as old as I am.. maybe slightly younger.." He read through, reading off the names of old royality. He stopped at a name, "Sindred..." He sighed, and his eyes slowly began to water up, "A memory i can clearly remember.." He continued down the page, "Sindred is the last name of my first love.. Such that name so long ago.. I wonder if he bloodline continued.. I do not know.." He stopped, finding the last name, "Lo" He whispered. "This is mine.."he flipped the pages to where Lo was, finding a half heet not bound in the book. He looked at it, studying it carefully. "An ancient spell.. I can activate it.. I dont know why I can but I can.. Its only that of a memory.." He stared at it, and spoke again, "It was written and holds the visions of a wizard who was.." His voice came faint, "..Working on me?"

31-01-2004, 03:25
Something hard and dangerous flashed behind Braun's eyes, a looked matched by Marciel. "Bastards." The single word escaped from between his lips like a gunshot. "Only those without any morals perform experiments with living beings. I've seen the results of their "work" far too often to show them any mercy."

"But nearley only 3 centuries ago.. I cant believe this.." Kaz's eyes glinted across the paper, reading the ancient arcane writing. "I need to see this.." He began reading the script as it was a spell, and the letters upon it began to glow blue as he read each word, and after he finished, the paper seemed like a light and Kaz's eyes shut.
After nearly 10 minutes, Kaz opend his now tear filled eyes. "I was a test.. Vor'en is not my brother at all.." His voice was faint, "..My real father was not the dragon Lazeroth, merley just a blood sample was taken from him to make me..." He stuttered "..My real father was the leader of Drognan for fifty years, Greynol Sindred.." He closed his eyes, forcing the tears out from them. "He had gotten lady pregnant, and considered me an abomination to the Sindred name.. and as such, gave me to a wizard.." He reopened his eyes, "..The wizard used me for an expierment, bestowing curses of dragons upon me.. Which explains my power.. and my old appeareance.. I was merley a mortal human child when I was born.. then mutulated and cursed to become a half-breed..." He looked up at braun, "..The wizard then sold me to the Lo family, to raise as a normal half-breed.. But I wasn't.. I was an abomination." He looked back down upon the book, a tear falling into the open page. "So all I am is an abomination.. that is where that power came from.. and why I had such an evil spirit as you have told me.. Yet I still remember not of these memories.." He shook his head, "I cant believe this.. I am one of the last of the Sindreds.. and I am an abomination.." His voice still was weak, and he stared into the book still, not moving at all now.
31-01-2004, 04:26

31-01-2004, 04:34
Braun and Marciel's combined rage was a live thing that stalked the room. Only years of disipline kept it under control. Braun laid a hand on Kaz's shoulder. "Not all abominations fair so badly, take myself for instance. It's what's inside a person that matters, not mere bloodlines. The ability to rule, and rule well is in you."
Braun closed the book and secreted it in a hidden pocket inside his cloak. "Wizards live a long time Kaz, and long before my master became a bard, he was easily the best assasain in all of Sabina. And he taught me everything he knew. I don't know about the new Kaz, but the old Kaz would never left someone escape after having commited such an evil act. And you can be sure that he's still commiting such acts."

"Braun.." Kaz sniffled out, "Give me the book back.." He looked up at him, his eyes red from the tears. His wings twitched, and his face seemed somewhat angered, yet much to sad. "I wish to keep that book.." He held out his hand for the book, "And that wizard is dead.."
31-01-2004, 05:00
Braun nodded reluctently and handed the book back. "There are ways around someone's being dead if you really need to see them though." Braun said thoughtfully.
Drognan
31-01-2004, 05:11
He took the book back, sliding it back in its hidden spot, closing it, and the secret compartment vanished. "I wish not to see him.. I know more than I told you.. I saw everything within a six month process before my very eyes.. through the wizards.." He looked down, "I killed the wizard out of accident after he gave me to the Lo Family.." He looked up at Braun. "But I would rather.. not talk about it now.." He sighed, "The thing that botheres me most.. Is that I am a Sindred.." He looked back down to the desk, another sigh was let out, "..I was basically in love with my own sister.. And I never knew it.."

Is that clear? I do not want anything to go out about this.. Just there is one problem.." He sighed, "The people still know not that I am Kaz.. and Vor'en.. he is not my real brother.. what shall I do about that?"
31-01-2004, 05:52
"You need not worry, one of the secrets to be a succesful bard is learning to keep confidences, but as to what you tell Vor'en, that is for you to decide. But I would remind you of this, you are brothers in spirit if not by blood. I think he would understand."

"He may keep that a secret, but we won't." Came from by the door. A pair of men stood there, guns pointing at the pair. "Don't even twitch or we'll fill you both with lead." The man who spoke smiled. "We origionally came here to kill him," he gestured at Kaz, "but this is even better."

Braun judged the distance and realised that he couldn't cover it in time, and Kaz didn't have the skill now with a sword to do anything even if he managed to reach the men.
"You know what, I think we'll off both of you, and then spread the information, I always did enjoy getting a hefty bonus-"
Before the man could finish, both his and his companion's eyes rolled back in their heads and their mouths opened wide as if to scream. Their bodies were ice cold before they hit the floor.
Gabriel's spectre stood there, hands outstretched to where the men's shoulders had been. He was glowing so brillently that he was almost painful to look at. As his arms went to his side again a smile spread across his face that would not have been out of place on the cat who had just eaten the canary. And as Braun looked at the pair on the floor, he realised that it was a scarily close analogy.
"Kaz, you should really have someone watch the door to keep the trash out." A low giggle was cut off by something suspiciously like a drunken hiccup. The spectare shook it's head. "Can't leave you guys alone for a few days without everything going to hell in a hand basket." Another laugh, and he leaned over to one side, a weird spectical since his feet weren't actually touching the floor. "Damn, a guy could get addicited to this, I haven't felt this good in a looonnnggg time."

OOC: I could have sworn Kaz wanted to speak to Gabriel not long ago.

OOC sorry, had to do somethin.

IC Kaz looked at the spectre, "So is that really you Gabriel?"
31-01-2004, 07:01
The spectre shifted until it was completely upside down and nodded sagely. "Yep that's me."
Braun raised a rueful eyebrow. "Forgive him Kaz, after absorbing that much life energy, he's on the equivilent of a week long drunk."
Drognan
31-01-2004, 07:06
Kaz tilted his head for a moment, "Well that can explain it.."
31-01-2004, 07:17
The spectre put out a hand and a large ball of glowing energy formed and floated to a point just behind him. Turning right side up Gabriel blinked a couple of times quickly. Slightly embarassed he rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry about that, still getting used to this form. First time I took in that much energy all at once. Arthur told me you needed to see me Kaz?"
Drognan
31-01-2004, 07:25
Kaz nodded, "Yes.. I did.. But now I have even more to ask.. Yet I somehow know you may not know some of the answers.." He sighed. "First off.. Braun told me that you said to him that I was needed in this world.. to keep it together.." He looked down, then back up "Why am I needed so badly? Or is it more of a question that I will learn the answer to myself over time?"
31-01-2004, 07:41
The speactre leaned backward, until he was at a forty-five degree angle to the ground, hands behind it's head, a posture of complete ease. The ball of energy orbited him like a moon orbiting a planet. "A bit of both actually. One thing I've learned is that there are certain people who form the pillars on which the rest of the world is supported, for whatever reason. After enough time, it got to the point I could sense when someone was what I call a factor, and I could tell how well supported the world was. Braun and Marciel are one factor, you're another Kaz, and Kurt has the potential of turning into another one. Things that happen to and because of factors tend to have ripple effects all out of proportion to the actual actions. It's really no wonder that when the three of you gathered togeather that things started hopping. In fact you are both extremly strong factors, and Kurt has the potential of being a super factor. There was enough there that even I couldn't avoid the effects. But exactly why you're a factor, that's something you'll have to learn for yourself, I can't tell you."
Drognan
31-01-2004, 07:47
Kaz nodded, remaining silet for a moment, then spoke quietly, "What should one do when he learns of his past if it was more than enough to change an outlook on life itself..? And what if it means that many things that you once knew about yourself, were never really true? or had a changed factor?"
31-01-2004, 07:55
The spectre flipped level, arms crosed under it's chin. "The past does not matter, only the future, and what one does with it matter, for you cannot change the past, and by the time the present is here, it's already the past. However one is born with the potential to be a factor, once one achieves that potential, it can never be lost. Whatever your actions Kaz, they will have far reaching effects."

31-01-2004, 08:08
"Glad I could help. But I've got to be going, it's not easy holding this form for any length of time." With that the ball of energy rejoined with Gabriel, and the last the two saw of him, was a wide grin on his face."

"Never know when old ghosts will come back to haunt you." Braun commented.

"For the most part you'll learn enough enough mental control to be able to tune out the pain. On the few occasions you can't." The spectre shrugged. "Medicine wouldn't do much for them anyway." "You never know Kurt, you never know."

Kurt nodded and teleported himself to his bedroom. Once again he lay down on his bed and went to sleep.
01-02-2004, 02:39
Once again Arthur returned to a standby state, awaiting the next day.

OOC: Hey I posted and it stayed on page 3 :x
01-02-2004, 02:42
OOC: What do you mean it stayed on page three?
Draconis Nightcrawlis
01-02-2004, 02:46
OOC: I post that last post at 9:02pm board time, the board crashed and so I had too get back on. It wasn't on the first page so I had to look through the other forum pages :( Well at least it did post though.
01-02-2004, 02:48
OOC: Ah.

Come moring, Kurt rolled over and promptly fell out of bed. Not exactly the wake up he'd wanted, but still at least he was awake. The first order of the day was to get breakfast and as usually he avoided getting the cook to make it for him, he took what he could from the fridge and went to eat it in the dining room which at the time was empty.
01-02-2004, 02:58
"Food, already I've almost forgotten what it tastes like." Came from behind Kurt.

Kurt looked behind him, "If you imagine your favourite food, you can never forget what it tastes like," he said.
01-02-2004, 03:17
"That's easy for you to say, you've still got a sense of taste."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
01-02-2004, 03:19
"Taste is all in the head," Kurt remarked.
01-02-2004, 03:21
"Doesn't matter much anyway I guess, even if I could eat normal food it wouldn't provide any satisfaction."

01-02-2004, 03:32
There was a small bang followed by the smell of brimstone. Over at the far end of the table, there appeared to be nothing but a large open newspaper.

"Morning father," Kurt said.

"Morning Kurt," came the reply.
01-02-2004, 03:34
"Morning sir."

King Kurt I put the paper down. "I heard Jamie was complaining about another ghost being here," he commented.
01-02-2004, 03:48
OOC: Blast it, I was going for an out take.

IC: "In this place, what's one more ghost? A guy can hardly drift through the walls here without running into someone. I've managed to evict most of them, but some of them are nearly as stubborn as Talia."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
01-02-2004, 04:04
The King laughed, "Jamie is a ghost," he said. "He has chased away all the ghosts that roamed this palace before him since he prefers to be an only ghost."

OOC: Out take?
01-02-2004, 04:06
OOC: Spit take, jaw dropping to the floor that type of thing.

IC: "Well I'm afraid that I'm here to stay, at least for a while."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
01-02-2004, 04:09
OOC: You wouldn't get that from the King :D

IC:

"He'll make a challege of it," the King told him. "I'm sure you'll have alot of fun with him."
01-02-2004, 04:12
Gabriel grinned. "When push comes to shove, I always do the shoving."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
01-02-2004, 04:17
From behind them came a loud scream. As they looked toward the door, they saw Talia running out.

"I really don't think she likes you," Kurt grinned.
01-02-2004, 04:26
"Shame, and I've been avoiding her room too, been spending most of my time around the garden."

In another small bang and cloud of smoke, the King was gone.

"Talia scares easily anyway," Kurt remarked.

OOC: I best be off to bed or I'll never get any sleep :D

"I should be going, I have my own breakfast to attend to, and it's best I do it before too many people are up."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
01-02-2004, 15:35
"Ok," Kurt said, wondering what that might be.
01-02-2004, 19:56
Arthur brought all his systems to full awareness and waited for Kurt.

Kurt sighed, he knew that it was inevitably time for him to go to class. As he walked into the room where Arthur was waiting, he began to miss his old classmates.

02-02-2004, 05:36
OOC: Sorry about not posting today, just moved back to college and the server here is being twitchy.

IC: "We'll be following you're normal schedule with only a couple of changes, instead of German, we'll continue with information that will prove useful in the future. Also, you'll need to improve your workout, to reach your full potential, you need to push yourself."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
02-02-2004, 12:02
OOC: No Prob

IC:

"Ok," Kurt nodded, he was glad to be rid of the German lessons.
02-02-2004, 16:27
"Let's get started then."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
02-02-2004, 16:30
Kurt nodded, signalling that he was ready.
02-02-2004, 16:52
Arthur ran through the day's classes as efficently as Gabriel ever had, despite still trying to get over the tragety that had befallen them.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
02-02-2004, 17:02
Kurt followed the classes as best he could, but his mind did keep wandering. The curse of a fifteen year old mind.
02-02-2004, 18:58
"OK Kurt, that's it for scholastics. Suit up and get to the gym."

Kurt said nothing as he left to get changed. A couple of minutes later he returned, smirking to himself.
03-02-2004, 01:51
"All right Kurt, today you start running the gauntlet, of course we'll start it out at the most basic level."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
03-02-2004, 01:53
"Ok," Kurt replied.

OOC IM SO LOST!
03-02-2004, 06:45
"The gauntlet is a training program that myself and Gabriel designed. Needless to say, he usually ran it at maximum difficulty and with up to around seven hundred gravities to keep it challenging."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
03-02-2004, 15:19
"Yikes," Kurt remarked. He was glad to be starting out at the most basic level.
03-02-2004, 19:39
"Please enter the training room and we'll begin."
Draconis Nightcrawlis
04-02-2004, 01:37
OOC: Smacks server :x

IC:

Kurt nodded and entered the training room.
04-02-2004, 03:54
OOC: Damn, it lost my post.

IC: "Confirmed, safties are on. Gravity set for one G. Initiating program Gauntlet One. The objective Kurt is to get to the key, good luck, you're going to need it. "
The training room disappeared to be replaced by a large open room. On a raise platform in the center of the room appeared a key. Suddenly walls rose up, forming a twisted corridor that would have to negotiated to reach the key. From up ahead could be heard the sound of many running feet.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
04-02-2004, 04:31
Kurt got himself ready for whatever was coming. Holding up the sword he walked down the corridor, ready for any trap that might spring up before the footsteps showed themselves.
04-02-2004, 16:09
A trio of men dashed around the corner, swords in hand they wordlessly moved to attack Kurt.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
04-02-2004, 17:36
Kurt brought his own sword up to fight off his attackers.
04-02-2004, 19:28
OOC: Blasts server with a Type XII phaser array and finishes up with a photon torpedo salvo.

IC: One attacker swung at Kurt's neck, another went for his throat, and the third tried to gut him.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
04-02-2004, 19:46
Kurt teleported himself to behind the attacks. He thrust his sword into the back of the nearest one.
04-02-2004, 19:58
That attacker dropped to the ground while the other two turned to face Kurt again.
Draconis Nightcrawlis
04-02-2004, 21:04
Now Kurt was more then ready for them. Still there may have been two of them, but he knew he could gain the upper hand. Once again he waited for them to make their move.
