Izual considered this for a moment.

"To be honest, I cannot be sure. We stand for peace, life and the happiness of all. The demonic stand for destruction, suffering and pain for all. I have little memory of when I was a demon, but my human side told me I was doing wrong. But my demonic side didn't care. Evil and Good may differ in opinion, but there are some basic attributes. Good wishes to help others and co-exist in peace. Evil wishes to hurts others and dominate."

Kain considered the words carefully, absorbing them and analyising them thoughfully.

"There is a difference in willing to do something and being something else. So many times I have said I would protect her when I did not. The best of intentions do not make someone those intentions. But I think I understand what you are talking about...it is just everything seems to be complex now. To think that I knew nothing of demons or angels around the earth in my mortal years!" Kain chuckled dryly and looked at the water.

Izual nodded in agreement.

"I think it is best that most mortals do not know of us. Think of the consequences if everyone was aware of the possible dangers they were all in. It would create a mass fear. Mortals react to fear with violence."
12-12-2003, 17:08
"Rather judgemental aren't we? Everyone has the right to know about this...but I agree. Some could not handle it. But we might be forced to. I was. Some mortals could handle it, but some could not. We should allow them to understand the truth should they seek it, yet not force it upon them." Kain said to Izual.

"Funny...how this all started...." Kain said.

He remembered when he and Rave first met. The head Peacekeeper of Velmora. Rather judgemental then, and inexperianced. Innocent would not be a correct word but it was the only one Kain could think of himself then. He judged himself as good Kain thought....

He remembered the snow gently drifting down on the streets when he first met her. Wearing his Peacekeeper and that staff....Kain felt a twinge of longing for that again, but it swiftly passed. And out of the gloom she came out, in her unqiueness out of the fog....in her winged presance. That....that feeling he got when he was around her. First he thought it was love. But of course it was not....perhaps the way a pupil loves his mentor. Perhaps. Perhaps.

The image was still clear in his mind and he smiled. How he had helped her then so simply. And he had been helped by her more than he could have repaid....she helped him, she saved him and his nation! How it drove Kain mad that he had let her down so.

At Kain's words, Izual remembered what little of his demonic past he could recall. He had never even considered he would be in this position back then.

"Things can change very rapidly. There are some mortals who can deal with such concepts. But this information should not be readily available to the general public."

"Hmmm. I am tierd of all the dramatics of any action I take. There is always so much gravity behind any of my actions, so much responcibility to anything I do. I was used to it to start, but now...this is maddness! I mean, thinking about it, there was a frelling demi god back there which I attempted to get away from! I mean, I am just one vampire. Everyone else is either a demon or angel or some extra demensional being, why for all I do, am I inexricably bound to any of these events? Let me guess.....destiny. I hate that term...Do you belief in destiny? Is there such a thing?" Kain asked Izual.

"I don't think so. We all have the choice to make our own future, to an extent. You are involved in this mess because you are strong. With great power comes great responsibility though. You have shown such."
13-12-2003, 15:09
Kain said nothing for a while.

"A least someone does not believe in it. I keep hearing word of the prophesy..." Kain said, refering to Rave, his tone was slightly relived.

Izual nodded.

"I have heard of such. It is possible for creatures to predict a possible future, but that predictions is only one of many. It may not necessarily happen. There is a lot of probability and chance and other external forces that play parts in such matters."
14-12-2003, 08:35
"Hmm....thank you. That has eased my mind somewhat...." Kain said, his deep voice slightly less troubled. Perhaps there was hope still for Rave...

Izual smiled.

"I am happy to help. Do you have any plans for the future?"

I got To Fight The Darkness archived, and the sequel should be too. Then, when you and Kain wrap this up, the entire trilogy will be in.

I see.....

Izual smiled.

"I am happy to help. Do you have any plans for the future?"

He had not thought of that. The future? He had been concerning himself with the presant...and dealing with the past....

"I need to deal with my past. Too many things left to go sour. I need to go back and set things right." Kain said, refering to his old nation, Velmora.

The angel nodded in agreement.

"That makes sense."
14-12-2003, 14:08
"How about you? Your plans?" Kain asked.

Izual sighed as he considered this.

"Since I have a rather large untapped knowledge of the demon realm, I assume I will be assigned to some sort of battle front. Whenever Arithon attempts to gain entrance to this world, I'll be there, fighting his forces off. A warning. Watch your back. He will not forget what you have done."
14-12-2003, 18:42
"Of course. It seems my enemies will be many during my existance...." Kain muttered.

"Farewell, thanks. You helped me a lot today."

Izual extended his hand toward Kain.

"It is good to see you again Kain. If you ever need me, I'll manage to find you."

OOC: Unless you have any plans, we should end this soon.
17-12-2003, 17:38
Kain extended his own cloven hand to meet his. "And I you. Thanks." Kain said. He watched Izual leave...and he was left alone. He watched the sun slowly set, the sunshine dancing over the ripples. For a moment, he saw a twinge of beauty within it, which faded.

"Memories and glimmers of them. What keeps me going...." Kain whispered to no one as he stared at the sunset and felt the warmth against his green skin.

Aye we are done, well done everyone.
