OOC: Something tells me you're going to need to provide some details on Army 1 soon.

Communique, Executive Commitee
To TheFearful
We wish permission to send a team of scientists to help insure that the lemurs of Madagascar have not been unduly traumatized and their habits too disrupted by recent military activity in the area. They will come either unarmed or equipped with sidearms for personal defense as per your military's preference.

OOC: How did your Army 1 get to Gibraltar from South Africa. There are only 3 ways I can think of, and only 2 are viable to you. The first is to move through the South Atlantic, past my naval bases in the Canarys' and Cape Verde, then up into Gibraltar, a bad idea since The Macabees has large naval force blocking that route into the Straits.

The Second would be to march it north across Africa, which is impossible, I control, or a in the process of controlling all of West Africa from Cameroon to North, with several exceptions, so that one is out.

The only other way is to go up through the Red Sea, through the Suez canal and through the Mediterranean, which is again patrolled by several massive fleets. So how did this Army get there?

OOC: Well, he did start moving it on Tuesday, and you didn't move to the Cape Verde islands until Wednesday, if we're being picky... but he still would have to move it past your north african positions and any intersecting fleets there in general. However, this is something for you two to settle out...

OOC: Yes I suppose that is true, just wondering how the Army got there, there isn't much left of Gibraltar anyway. Not saying my fleets would have interdicted him or anything, my Atlantic Fleet is already far to stretched.

OOC: Even if he has his 1st Army in Northern Africa it would be mighty hard to land his forces on the coast of Gibraltar since I have over 2 million troops there and I would counter attack pretty fast, throwing off his chances of success. Not only this, I have two massive Luftflotte's bombing and strafing most of what isn't in my hands, plus naval fleets, therefore I would have spotted his army somewhere, and probably would have strafed it if it ventured out to sea.

There are three divisions in mozambique, the 8th support, the 14th motorized infantry, and the 17th airbourne. There are also a good amount of aircraft there, as it is our only place where we can strike back on "real earth" places quickly. A large army force could overrun them, though not without some good fighting.

Ahhh, Madagascar. It has some of the most treacherous terrain in all of Africa. Sudden and hidden ditches that are as deep as ten feet dot the country.

Mounted operations are incredibly difficult, as demonstrated by the Commonwealth invasion of Madagascar in WW2. My advice, keep your armour well supported by infantry...most importantly, keep your assault pioneers in the field.

Yeah...Ive been playing this game for quite awhile, my old country, The Theocracy of Anti-Funitism got deleted for some reason...it had a population of 800 million at the time. Auman was my largest puppet that I used to communicate on other regional forums so I just started using it.

Army 1 lands on morocco and moves south through CCC terrotory, and tries to run into SnS held land

The first of Aumans official observers went to ground with the 1st Army, Captain Lars Hilker veteran of the Great War, he had seen his share of death. He had lost one of his eyes to shrapnel during the Polar war, as well as a knee cap, and in spite of this he was a sight to behold...a truly intimidating figure. When his landing craft hit the beaches of Morocco there had been very sparse resistance, he drew his service pistol on one occassion, but it was only a false alarm.

Captain Hilker made his way to The Fearfuls commanding officer and spoke in a rich Vascilian Accent. "There are one of two eventualities that will take place on this battlefield. The first and most likely the enemy have prepared positions further inland and are waiting to spring a trap or another more likely scenario they aren't even here. This is only my humble opinion of course." Hilker leaned uneasily on his cane and used his cape the shield himself from the rain as he waited for a response from the commander.

OOC:

Im more or less one of those Dramatic RP'ers and since I have no signifigant forces I'll just dramatise events.

OOC: You have penetgration in the northern areas of mozambique, which had few chellian troops. The capital and more defendable areas of the south are still under chellian control.

IC:Chellian troops scramble to create defensive lines, especially around the capital, and simply await the enemy troops. Chellis itself has no comment currently.

elements of the armour and air cav move in to pacify all outlying areas of the country, while the infanty start to blockade the capital

I cant see why...

100% taxrate, with 2billion population
take 10% military (compulsory mil service)
frightning econmy

less than 1/10 of the military are combat (and that includes the naval button pushers...)

these army lists were built up with the oversight of other NS nations, and come across as reasonable by those who have look at the big picture

oh, and note, *most* of my mil is out of date compared with some of the other techs being employed in WWIX
my standing army is smaller that china's (man to man) and china is half my size.

you have 100 aircraft carriers, pushed into service... Those are fleet carriers too... thats impossible to maintain...
20-11-2003, 01:04
(OOC: I'm the Channel Islands, just ask the Macabees) The Taurus battlegroup has arrive in the waters off Maputo, Mozambique. Following hours of heavy shore bombardment, the 4th and 6th infantry divisions launch a massive amphibious assault. Meanwhile, the 5th airborne division paratroops onto an abandoned airfield west of the city, and immediately begin preparing defenses. At the same time, the 1st marine expeditionary force lands on nearby Portuguese Island, readying it as a launching point for the 7th armoured division, which is expected to arrive shortly.
