Todd wasn't sure how to react to the man's sudden kindness, but he had to admit that the feeling of power in his body did make him feel good - no matter how bad that forgotten memory had been.

"That's all well and good," Todd said, "but there's still something wrong....why? Wasn't this all a great deal of trouble for you to go through for people you didn't know? People who might not have even wanted what you were offering?"

Marius continued to grin at Yumi.

"You like playing with that? You can do better."

Marius turned around and smiled at Todd.

"That is a good question boy. I have a few reasons. As you can see, I am growing old and will not be around forever. Out of everyone on the planet that I scanned, you four had the most significant, untrained potential. I wanted to pass my skills and knowledge down to you. I have an archive full of psychic training techniques at your disposal. My other reasons, I have a certain favour to ask of each of you. It involves work in each of your respected nations. Of course, the choice is up to you whether you do my favour or not."

Marius returned to his seat and began swinging around.

OOC: If your character agrees for a mission. Telegram me about what you want it to be.... as I don't know anything of your nations.
03-11-2003, 13:15
Yumi: "Yes, I do like playing with it. Kiss my furry tail, old man."

*Said tail whips back and forth angerily.*

Yumi: "So in other words, before you pass into the Final Judgement", you want to pass on your legacy? I guess I can see how that would work. It's like in those old weird import movies, where the old kung fu master wants to pass his teachings onto a younger generation, and stuff like that."

((OOC: " = The Final Judgement is a Krowemohian belief that when you die, your soul is taken before Goddess Cori and your life is judge, and based on how you lived your life, you either go to 'Heaven,' where you'll know eternal peace and happiness, or to Purgatory where you'll exist in limbo for all eternality.))

Marius waved his finger.

"Now now young lady, no need to be rude. You are correct. I am sure you will find your legacy to your benefit anyway."

Jimmy spoke after intently listening.

"So you have books and stuff on different psychic techniques and stuff? Interesting."

Todd stodd considering the man's request for a moment....work?

"Well," he started, "You did go to all this trouble....I suppose it can't hurt to ask what you want of me."

Kerrik, standing in the shadows, had decided the man was not an immeadiate threat. However, the notion of work back in Kaukolastan bothered him. What does he want? I will not commit treason. Kerrik stepped into the light. "Hello, sir, you obviously know me, so introductions are pointless. What do you want of us, exactly?"

OOC: Sorry, was away for a few days.

The old man's face lost the smile.

"I ask this of you as a favour. The choice is entirely yours."

Marius swings around in his chair to face Yumi.

"Yumi. I have a friend that is being held with Faculty 312. I ask that you break her out and bring her back to me."

The chair spun toward Kerrik.

"Kerrik. An old student of mine was too wreckless for my teachings. He never learnt everything but he is a danger. Presently he is in Kaukolastan. If you could bring him to me, I would appreciate it."

The chair reached Jimmy.

"Jimmy. You are native to this land, as am I. I ask that you maintain my property when I am gone. And that you pass on my knowledge to those that are worthy."

Finally he reached Todd.

OOC: Iansisle. T-Gram me about Todd's mission.

OOC: Consider this said AFTER Iansisle responds.

Kerrik nodded, considering the implications of what was said. Why would he be in Kaukolastan? What could be of use to him there? I'll need information on him, data files and psych tests. He faced the old man, not arrogantly, but supremely confident in his own abilities. "Sir, do you have any information on this student I may see?"

OOC2: Are we going individually on these or as a team?
05-11-2003, 05:14
*Yumi blinks. She knew of Faculty 312, thought techically she shouldn't. She stands there, waiting for the man to answer Kerrick's question.*

Marius swung back to Kerrik.

"He has only just arrived. He needs to be contained before he causes any trouble in your nation. His name is Tobias Darkmoor."

A filing cabinet burst open, sending a manila folder floating towards Kerrik.

"Everything you need to know is in that folder."

OOC: It can be done in teams if you wish.....
05-11-2003, 09:38
*Yumi clears her throat.*

Yumi: "And now, I have questions too. How long has this friend of yours been in Faculty 312?"
Assington
05-11-2003, 09:47
Marius' voice took on a sombre tone as he swung toward Yumi.

"She has been held there for five years. She is innocent of all charges and has suffered ill treatment. I ask that you bring her back here."
05-11-2003, 10:02
*Yumi shook her head.*

Yumi: "Depending on the charges filed against her, she is most likely dead. Or if not, she's insane. Do you even know what Faculty 312 is? It's hell on Earth..."

Kerrik caught the folder. He nodded gratefully to the old man. He is on my side, and I on his. "Thank you, sir. Where is this library you spoke of, so that I may study in peace?"
Assington
06-11-2003, 10:11
Marius nodded toward the door.

"Through the door and take the first right."

Then he resumed his conversation with Yumi.

"She is alive. Her conscious mind has retracted deep into her subconscious. If you bring her here, I can help her. She was charged with plotting to assassinate a member of the royal family. There is no proof to this claim. And I can assure you she is innocent. Will you help me?"
06-11-2003, 10:33
*Yumi thinks for a moment.*

Yumi: "It's gonna be tough. Even though I'm the duaghter of Princess Janus, I don't have access to Faculty 312. Hell, I'm not even supposed to know about it. It'll be very challenging. Okay, I'll do it. Must I do it alone? Or can one of the others come with me?"

*She looks towards Kerrick.*
Assington
06-11-2003, 12:48
Marius seems pleased that Yumi agrees.

"You may take as many as you wish with you. The same goes for everyone."

Marius turns to Todd.

"And Todd. Would you care to inform me what city you live in? I could take it from your mind, but I prefer to ask when the psychic powers aren't necessary."
Kaukolastan
06-11-2003, 17:32
Kerrik caught the glance and nodded in agreement, then tipped his head towards the library, indicating where she could meet him. Then, shuffling his stack of papers, he turned and exitted the room to do some research.

Marius turns to Todd.

"And Todd. Would you care to inform me what city you live in? I could take it from your mind, but I prefer to ask when the psychic powers aren't necessary."

"That seems an unusual change," muttered Todd to himself. He was still very bitter about the memory he'd been forced to relive. "My home is in Fort Jackson, in Weshield."
Assington
07-11-2003, 07:30
Marius could sense Todd's bitter attitude.

"I am sorry that I caused you discomfort, but it was necessary to maximise your power use. I can assure you that I will not do such a thing to you again. Anyway, I ask that you find some information for me. It would not involve leaving your home town. Your mental powers are great, you can stretch over long distances with your mind. All I ask is that you obtain some information."
Iansisle
07-11-2003, 07:39
Todd shook his head. He didn't like broadcasting emotions like this, but it was hard not to. Shane could always tell when he was sad, anyways. With a concentrated effort, he focused his thoughts away from the memory, and to the present. "What sort of information?"
Assington
07-11-2003, 14:43
Marius continued.

"There are certain terroist groups operating in your home town. I want you to find out who they are and what they're plans are. That is all."
Iansisle
08-11-2003, 03:31
"...well," started Todd, thinking about the bombing in Ianapalis a couple of years ago. Was it really possible that some sort of terrorists were operating in Fort Jackson? Probably. "I'll do my best," he agreed, not too sure what he was getting into.
Assington
08-11-2003, 05:20
Marius smiled.

"Thankyou. I can assure you there is no danger to yourself. All you must do is extract the information with your mental powers and relay it to me."

Jimmy spoke.

"So, what am I doing then?"
Iansisle
08-11-2003, 08:05
Todd just stood there for a moment. "Erm, shall I depart now, or is there anything else?"
Assington
08-11-2003, 09:04
"You may depart whenever you wish. Although, I invite you to stay for a meal. I invite all of you to stay."

Marius turned to Jimmy.

"You're mission is obviously not immediate. You are welcome to help the others though."

*The doors to the libary opened softly, and Yumi wandered in. She does a quick search and soon finds Kerrik sitting by himself, studying the information the Old Man gave him.*

Yumi: "Hey."

11-11-2003, 03:00
*Yumi shrugged.*

Yumi: "Eh, it's a library, seen one you've seen them all and can go home. I suppose it's good if you're into libraries, which I'm not. Too quiet. And librarians freaked me out."

*She tilted her head towards the book he was reading.*

Yumi: "So, you gonna do that little mission for the Old Guy?"

OOC: NEE. I'm really busy at the moment with exams and assignments. But I will have it up by either the end of this week or early next week. Sorry for the delay.

IC: Jimmy was making his way toward the door.

"Sounds good to me. Shall we go eat?"

Marius rose from his chair and followed Jimmy.
Iansisle
11-11-2003, 07:34
Todd shrugged. With the news that he was about to take on a gang of terrorist thugs, he wasn't really all that hungry, but when in Rome...

He followed Jimmy and the Loud Man - who was actually turning out not to be that bad of a guy - into the next room.

13-11-2003, 13:18
*Yumi nodded.*

Yumi: "Yeah, I'm definately gonna do it. I was kinda hoping you'd like to come along with me too."

*A slight blush rose in her cheeks, but before Kerrik could answer, Jimmy stuck his head in and told them that dinner was being served. Kerrick left to get some food, and Yumi followed.*

Kerrik: "You coming?"

Yumi: "Yeah, I guess..."
Assington
14-11-2003, 07:34
OOC: we'll finish after the meal....

IC: Marius leads the others down into a massive hall illuminated by electric lights and decorated with old looking tapestries. The table was covered with an asortment of roast meats, vegetables and other various foods.

Jimmy licked his lips in anticipation.

"Looks good."

He sat down but was able to restrain himself until the others sat.

14-11-2003, 13:04
As they ate, Kerrik projected a simple thought towards Yumi. I'll go with you. He then made some generic compliment about the food and went on as if he had noticed nothing.
14-11-2003, 13:18
*Yumi jumped a little as she heard Kerrik's voice in her head as she nippled on a piece of whole tuna fish.*

Kerrik: "I'll go with you."

*A small smile crossed Yumi's face, and catching's Kerrik's lead of acting like nothing happened, Yumi resumed eating her meal, commenting on the spices used to flavor the fish. She had no vegatables on her plate, mostly various types of fish and a medium saucer of warm milk she heated herself.*

14-11-2003, 14:28
Jimmy noticed the silence among everyone.

"So are you guys off to do your missions?"
Kaukolastan
14-11-2003, 15:28
Kerrik spoke for himself only, so as not to compromise anything Yumi didn't want said. "Well, I'm going to investigate this rogue student. Any of you are welcome to come along. I will not move against him until I understand him. Once I have a grasp of the situation, I'll check back in. If he's dangerous, we should all work together." He took a bite of the his steak. After swallowing, he asked. "So, Marius, what was this student kicked for? Good steak, by the way."
Assington
15-11-2003, 01:52
Marius also took a mouthful of the steak and swallowed.

"It is good. Tobias was a very promising student of mine. He was an extremely powerful telekinetic but his other skills were lacking. He could not control his temper. He killed two new students in a fit of rage because they were naturally stronger than him. Then he left. All this was done whilst I was overseas. He is a danger to all that anger him and must be contained. It is unlikely that you would be able to outmatch him in a telekinetic battle, but you can easily stun him."

Marius continued to drink his wine and eat the steak.

I only know what's on the first five levels, but beyond those floors I have no clue. The worst opposition we'll face are Clone Jail Guards."

Jimmy quickly sent a mental message to Marius, asking for the whereabouts of Todd's home.

Marius replied with all the details he needed.

"Good luck."

Jimmy rose into the air and lead Todd up a long tunnel that eventually brought them into the night sky.

"I've got a fair idea of where we are going."
Iansisle
16-11-2003, 11:26
Fort Jackson from the air really wasn't that impressive, especially considering it was one of the major harbors of the Royal Iansislean Navy's Home Fleet. The town was low and sprawling, climbing several hills around the valley and bay it was located in. The highest human-made structures were the various smokestacks, which were busy spewing coal smoke into the twilight sky.

Todd alighted in front of a run-down three story brick apartment building, which looked for all the world like it should be torn down, and held the door open for Jimmy. "Come on; we live on the second floor!"
Assington
16-11-2003, 11:49

"So how does it feel to be home?"
Iansisle
16-11-2003, 11:56
Todd shrugged. "Home is where the heart is," he said cryptically before pushing a door open. "I suppose I could have always iced it and knocked it in, but hardly seems practical, does it?"

Inside the tiny, but very neat, apartment sat a scrawny man in well-stained work overalls. He glanced up sharply as the door opened, and quickly engulfed Todd in a bear hug. "Todd, boy, you're back! We've all been so worried about you!"

The man looked up at Jimmy from behind a scraggly half-beard. "I suppose you'd like your reward, eh?"

"Yes?" The voice is deep and somewhat hoarse.

"Sir, it seems someone is massing psychics."

"Massing them?"

"Gathering them sir. Their intentions are not yet certain, but whatever they're doing, they're certainly doing in a hurry."

"Right. Figure out why they're gathering these psychics and most importantly find out if they pose a risk to our own opertions. I will not lose another one of our psychics to some outside operation."

"I'm on it sir." There is a click and the air is dead.

"Someday the world will learn that psychics are not a force to be meddled with... Someday."

He nodded. "So, could you get us in with guns? Maybe a door slicer mod? Are we going to try to bypass security or blow through?" He paused. "Just wondering. As much as like the psyonics, there is a limit, and I still feel I can accomplish much with more normal skills... like demolitions." he grinned a little and made a motion as if pushing a button. "You ever played with plastique? Great stuff really... stable as can be-" he cut himself off. "I'm rambling, sorry."

*She motioned with her head towards where they came from.*

Yumi: "Should we fly, or fly there? Um, do you need to get anything, like um, those plastique or anything first?"

Kerrik scratched his chin. "Well, are we gonna get into a firefight? I'd say so... I have some contacts in Kaukolastan we can meet and I can get just about any weapons system we have. About the flying... I'd rather not drain ourselves, or just showcase power. Surprise is crucial, and flying would drain us as well as give away our abilities..." he paused, ran his hand through his hair. "And I don't like heights." he shrugged. "Up to you."
18-11-2003, 10:01
*Yumi shrugged.*

Yumi: "The guards won't be packing serious heat, so I don't think we'll be in that big of a firefight."

*She and Kerrik start to leave the cave.*

Yumi: "Let's take a plane back, mmkay? Once we're in Krowemoh, I can have a heli pick us up and take us directly to the Shin-Ra Tower."

Kerrik nodded. "All right, nothing big and flashy. Can I get my C-6, at least?" he smiled like a kid in a candy store, innocently asking for deadly weapons.

He grabbed a stone, calculated weight, angle, force. "Three skips." he stated nonchalantly as he pitched the stone into the water. It skipped three times. He shrugged and pitched another. "Four."
18-11-2003, 10:32
*Yumi cut in with...*

Yumi: "Eight."

*The stone skips four times, then Yumi uses her power to make it skip four more times before making it sink.*

Yumi: "I win!"

*She does a little victory spin.*

Yumi: "You can bring your C-6, I don't mind. Just don't shoot anyone outside of Faculty 312, okay? Everyone in there are either clones or crimminals, so..."

*She shrugs.*

Yumi: "Ummm... Know where the nearest airport is?"
Kaukolastan
18-11-2003, 10:49
"Cheater." Kerrik grinned.

"Ummm... Know where the nearest airport is?" Yumi asked.

"Err... well... I could call a VTOL?" He pulled out his staellite phone. "That way no one in your country would know until we were in and out." He pressed a button, and the top of the phone shot up to form the earpiece.

"Yeah, this is Anderas Kerrik. I've got a slight transportation issue." pause "Yeah, island near Assignton." pause "And a friend with me." pause "She knows the way." pause "Right. FUll loadout." He closed the phone.

He turned back to her. "Two hours until the VTOL gets here. They're bringing anything we might reasonably need, like body armor, in case of a lucky shot." he shrugged. "So we've gotta blow two hours." he picked up another stone. "Four hundred meters." he chucked it straight up, put a mental shove behind it. He smiled a little. "Rarely get off time back home."
18-11-2003, 11:03
*Yumi whistled as the stone went high up into the air.*

Yumi: "Good one. Hmmm.. Two hours, eh? I can think of a lot of things we could do in two hours."

*Her hand snakes it way over to Kerrik's and grasps his hand tightly. She grinned at him sheepishly.*

"Er?" he cut himself off. "Yeah, that works..." Wow. I need to get kidnapped more often. He grinned a little, then broader. "Yeah. That works." he repeated happily, actually breaking a real smile instead of a smug grin.
18-11-2003, 15:20
*A blush spreads across Yumi's cheeks as she rotates on one foot to come face to face with Kerrik. This close to him, her pulse started to quicken, her white furred tail swaying back and back excitedly.*

Yumi: "Kerrik..."

*She spoke the other's name softly, her eyes half closed, head tilted back slightly. Her short chestnut brown hair hung loose from her head, unfettered and wild.*

IC:

The steady thrumming of engines broke his reverie, and he tightened his coat, adjusted his collar to look perfectly disciplined. Two hours? That was the fastest two hours I've ever had. The lights soon began to show as the VTOL approached, skimming the waves quickly, running dark and quiet. "You ready?" he asked.
18-11-2003, 15:51
((OOC: lol Hmm, yeah. That would be bad.))

*Yumi, looking a little less professional then Kerrik, nods. Well, she was still wearing her rave clothes, so she looked alot less professional then Kerrik did...*

Kerrik: "You ready?"

Yumi: "Yeah."

*She sighed happily, grinning widely at Kerrik.*

The VTOL approached as a single point of light, two licks of blue flame, on the horizon, beneath the starfield and above the tumultous seas. It approached, growing bigger and brighter, with the waves reflecting the blue jets. It hovered, turning on its lights, and slowly lowered to the ground, casting the sand away. Beneath the forward canted wings, a hatch slid open, and a Crew Chief, dressed in a black uniform, waved them in. Upon entry, the door was slammed shut, and the VTOL lifted back up, blasting across the water. Beneath it, the waves split, and the air pushed a wake, as if a boat were roaring a little beneath and in front of the sleek transport.

The passengers buckled themselves in. Inside, the red light illuminated the craft brightly enough to see perfectly but not cast any stray rays out of the VTOL's window. Those rays fell on the deck and equipment. From the cockpit access, the pilot called back, "So, where are we heading?"

Jimmy moved inside.

"It's a funny story. Todd and I met in Assington. In an underground cave."

He sat down in Todds dad's chair.

"Todd wasn't behind this stunt."

"An underground cave, eh?" called the man before returning with three cups of tea. He offered the nicest one, the one which wasn't cracked, to Jimmy and sat down across from him. He gave Jimmy a good look over. "I hate to say I believe it, but you certainly don't look like you're from around here." He took a sip of tea.

"Oi, John, check what I can do now!" exclaimed Todd, making his cup levitate and pour itself in his mouth. "Jimmy's better at that sort of stuff than I am, though."

John dropped his cup.

Jimmy's quick reaction saved the cup from smashing on the floor. He carefully levitated back onto a nearby table.

He grinned sheepishly.

"Yeh.... We picked up a few things from the cave."

John, Todd's older brother, was a pretty sharp cookie, but this was just a little too much for him. His first reaction was to think they had ended up in Daezeman or some such, but he quickly disregarded that. Hands shaking slightly, he picked up his own cup and investigate it. "There're no wires..." he mused quietly.

"Of course not, ding-bat," laughed Todd. "That's what we've been trying to tell you: this guy took me, Mr. Jimmy, and some other folks out to a cave. He taught us a bunch of stuff, well, I guess we actually sort of taught each other, and I have to read the minds of some terrorists or something."
Assington
19-11-2003, 08:44
Jimmy took on a more serious note.

"All Todd must do is read the minds of two men. He can do it from here. They won't notice a thing, then he just has to send the info back to Assington. No worries."
Iansisle
19-11-2003, 08:50
John shook his head. It was clear he was having trouble keeping up with all of this; after all, Iansisle had never before produced a psychic of any sort, at least that he knew of! This sort of thing happened far away, to other people. He tried to make a stammering comment, but nothing came out.

"D'ya think I should do it now, Mr. Jimmy?" asked Todd. "We ought to do it before father gets back; he's such a worry-wart!"

19-11-2003, 08:56
"I don't see why not. Just remember not to say anything in your head whilst you're readin their minds."

Jimmy sat back in the chair, waiting for Todd to commence.

OOC: It's up to you what Todd finds out.

"Got it," nodded Todd with a smile. He reached out, looking for the senses that Marius had described, and he found them - not too far away, either! Only a couple of blocks at most! Fortunatly, he managed to tap their thoughts...they were scared, and planning something desperate...

With a shock, Todd crash-returned to his dining room, a look of horror on his face.

"They're planning to bomb the main Westerton plant," he whispered in an soft voice. "In just an hour or two."

John looked shocked. "A...are you sure? That's where father's working!"
Assington
19-11-2003, 09:05
Jimmy sighed.

"Crap. Ok. Someone call the police and we need to inform the plant. Todd. Do you have any more details about the terroists?"
Iansisle
19-11-2003, 09:20
"There's five of them," he said at once. "Dianatranian, best I can gather. Something about a resurgence of the P.L.A.D. One of them works as a security officer at the plant; goes by the name of Latimere."

John, in the meantime, had already picked up the phone, but seemed to be having some trouble convincing whoever was on the other end of the line that he was serious. After all, the P.L.A.D. had been quiet for years; why should they come back now, and in Fort Jackson of all places?
Assington
19-11-2003, 09:22
Jimmy began to pace.

"Ok, this isn't working. We should get to the plant and warn them ourselves then. I'm sure we can convince them that we're being truthful."

19-11-2003, 10:35
John put down the phone. "O.k., we can do that," he said anxiously, "but what if they just blow us up too?"

"I've got another idea," said Todd quietly. "How about if I just transmit emotions - you know, fear or something - straight into their minds? I'm sure I could do it, and maybe they'd just leave!"
19-11-2003, 11:13
*Yumi chipped in, answering for Kerrik.*

Yumi: "The Capital of Krowemoh, Htam. The Shin-Ra Tower, to be exact. Krowemohian Air Patrols won't let you anywhere near the Tower, but let me speak to one of the Interceptors and I can get you guys clearance to land on the Shin-Ra Tower."

*She looks at Kerrik.*

Yumi: "We're probably going to have to go see my mother once we get to the Tower. Let me do all the talking. The last thing either of us wants is you getting arrested for 'kidnapping' me."

*As she said the word 'Kidnapping,' she made quotation motions with her fingers.*

Kerrik nodded. "Right." He shrugged off his jacket, opened an equipment chest, and pulled on a Kevlar vest, then put his leather coat back on, over it. "You want one? We've got plenty." he motioned to the numerous chests.

The Crew Chief quipped, "Thanks for flying Kaukolastan Special Airforce. We have all you need for a pleasant journey: crash seats, in flight briefings, luggage and weapon compartments, life vests, gun vests, in flight rations, and even two M134 Chain Guns. Please sit back and enjoy your ride." Then the Chief fell asleep in his seat.

Kerrik shrugged. "Bah, it's not first class, but its fast, versatile, and shoots back."
20-11-2003, 16:16
*Yumi slips off her windbreaker, and puts on the kevlar vest, then puts her jacket back on, zipping it up.*

Yumi: "Just in case."

*She chuckled with a grin, leaning back and kicking her feet up.*

Yumi: "We're gonna be here awhile, huh?"

Jimmy unleashes a powerful psychic BuMp!

24-11-2003, 02:36
Todd took a deep breath and closed his eyes while John looked on in confusion.

Slowly, he reached out mentally, once again finding their minds. He felt a pinprick of anxiety as he accidentally slipped a thought into one mind.

What’s wrong, Karl? formed in the mind of another.

Nothing - I just...I dunno. Kinda a weird feeling.

Well, kick it, added a third. We’re almost there!

Todd continued to feel around their minds, each passing second revealing another path he could take. He was astonished by this; in Assington, everyone else had been powerful psychics too, and he hadn’t realized how far into an average human mind he could penetrate. Todd knew what Jimmy had suggested, but he had something else in mind. He made a tiny readjustment in one’s subconscious, and...

Hey, guys, I don’t think this is such a good idea, said the one called Karl.

What? What’re you talking about? asked another who went by Alan.

I dunno...why should we blow this up anyway?

Because... Alan started to retort, but he stopped as Todd touched his mind too. Yeah, that’s a good point!

What the *#%^ are you two on about!? asked the third voice, named Hans, who was apparently in charge of the expedition. Todd noticed that his mind was slightly more complex than the other two’s, but he was still able to worm around inside of it. Almost...there!

Todd listened to their conversation as they stopped their Westerton Jackrabbit and started talking on the side of the road. Eventually, Todd deposited an idea in one of their minds.

Say, why don’t we just go pitch all this explosive in the bay and head for home? suggested Alan.

Good idea! replied Hans, and the three went to carry out their new job.

Back in the apartment, Todd leaned back with a sigh. “Thank God - that’s done. They’ll not be blowing anything up now.”

"Send what? What's going on?" demanded John, still holding the phone's reciever in his hand. Todd held up his hand.

"It's ... nothing, John. Everything will be all right. I'll tell you about it later." His elder brother didn't seem convinced, but he hung the phone back up and sat down while Todd transmitted everything he had learned to Marius, using all the power he could muster.
