The First Stage (Demon RP)
Nez'gah wandered through the alley ways observing his dark dank surroundings. Lord Arithon had given him explicit instructions about this particular mission. He found a vertical wall that lead directly onto the building's roof. Driving his claws into the wall he scurried up the wall and leapt on the roof. Looking down on the unsuspecting humans below he licked his fangs in anticipation. He was going to enjoy this mission. He dropped his coat to the floor and outstetched his wings. Seconds later he leapt off the building and began his aerial search of his targets.
OOC: Nez'gah is in a human city. Anyone is welcome to join.
OOC: Anyone?
This isn't restricted to demon nations! We could have someone playing a demon hunter. Or victims or something like that.
I'm not a noob either...... i'm a puppet
That is for another player to decide. I've set the scenario. Anyone!?!?!?!?

(city of Freiburg, a port city in the land of what used to be Ienotheisa. Now, this wilderness is being carved into civilization by loggers, miners, engineers. The city itself trades mostly in raw goods and is a rough sort of place built over ancient buildings that were in recent memory heavily bombed and shelled.)
Frieda and Talia got out of their cab, giggling. They were both secretaries with one of the shipping companies and had been pleased to meet well to do foreigners who seemed to care nothing for their class, who thought all Lavenrunzian girls were elegant and charming. Shushing one another, rolling their eyes in admiration of the party they'd enjoy, they went up the stairs to their apartment.

OOC: Lavenrunz; didn't Arithon already state what city it was in? I'm considering chucking an EIC agent into the mix, but right now I'm confused.
OOC: no i didn't state the city. I left it open for another player to pick. All I said was that it was a human city.
IC: Nez'gah noticed the two womean step out of the cab as he glided through the air above. He took a deep breath through his large nostrils, picking up their scent clearly.
They will do fine.....
He descended onto the rooftop of the apartment block. With a few more sniffs, he began to find his way toward their apartment.

The sun was glinting on the brilliant blue waters as the train pulled into Freiburg. A brisk sea breeze was blowing, making Lina's dark hair flutter around her face. She pulled her coat tighter around her, and lined up the coast for another photograph.
Trains in Tsaraine didn't have viewing platforms; there was very little to see, underground. This mission was almost a holiday for Lina Sche'daya, aka "Late", designation unit L-8. Not that EIC missions were usually more than boring; it came with the job.
Though why Command needs a Knight in Freiburg I don't know, Lina thought. I don't know, I don't ask. I live to serve. I exist to serve. There was nothing particularly distressing about this; Lina was a Rukine Knight. Disloyalty was not considered by the Eye-Bleeding-Lightning.
Click! The little digital camera whirred, storing the image in it's memory. Lina stowed it in her bag as the train entered Freiburg's new, whitewashed suburbs. Nothing to see here but lines of fences abutting the railway line, with near-identical white blocks of houses beyond them.
The train pulled to a stop in Freiburg's central train station, an area which, though it was new, already looked run-down, with the angry scrawls of graffiti providing the only colour.
Lina collected her bags from the luggage van (OOC: I forget what the different bits of trains are called) and disembarked. She still wasn't used to graffiti; in Tsaraine, vandals were conditioned or executed. Cities without strict control degenerated into ugly, sprawling masses, as Freiburg illustrated.
Her instructions (commited to memory, and thus impossible to divulge) were to meet with an EIC sleeper somewhere in the suburbs; Freiburg's public transport system was poor, but the city was small enough to walk there in fifteen minutes, if she didn't mind looking like a tourist. There were enough Tsarainese expatriates in Lavenrunz to allow her to blend in, but Tsarainese tourists were few. Can't be helped, I guess.
Shouldering her bags, Lina made her way along the sidewalks (Knights had a good sense of direction, and she'd commited a map of the city to memory), dodging the late afternoon traffic.
Nez'gah slowly crept down the wall. He could hear the women speaking. They were close..... in the window it his right. He pulled up parallel to the window and stretched his head around ever so slightly.
He saw Frieda and Talia sitting on a couch talking to eachother. He thought about how he would attack his unsuspecting victims.
Very soon..... wait just a little longer.
Rodney peered with his eyes into the darkness, the shadow that the lamp made when he stood infront of it. Nothing, not one bit of a Demon.
He turned around and faced the others. Four of them, all working for the same man. Danneland Corp.
"Listen up, we are here to bring down, and capture a Demon.. for scientific research ofcourse. So gear up and start searching the streets. The rumours tells us that a certain mr.Nez'gah is currently wandering the streets to find his victims. If you encounter him, or his victims. Emediatly call for backup and observe untill the rest of us reach you. And then, we capture the demon and his victims. Everyone must be kept alive. For research. Direct orders from above"
The four men nodded and loaded up with guns 'n ammo. Everything was strongly tranqualizing and would put a mountain to sleep. Infra googles incase of night. Heavy armour, they where ready to go huntin some Demon..

Frieda said, "Whew, what a night! I'm just going to take a shower and go to bed, I think."
Talia mock-whined, "Aw, come on! Don't you want to watch a late movie with me? I'll make popcorn!"
"Oooh, popcorn!" Frieda rolled her eyes. "Okay, sold, but I want a shower first, alright?"
"Right." Talia went to the kitchen while Frieda sauntered off the bedroom first, disrobing and then, in a kimono, walking into the bathroom.
Talia loved making popcorn, she did it perfectly. Just a touch of oil, the right degree of heat, the kernels poured evenly...she rarely wasted so much as a single kernel, and they popped beautiful, big and white...she frowned as she capped the oil. She looked nervously towards the window and reflexively pulled her sweater closed over her t-shirt. She hated that apartment across the way, she had definitely seen a guy with binoculars. With an irritated stride she went to the window to close the drapes. The shower was turned on in the bathroom.

Number 33, Flügelmutter Straße. The sleeper's house was like all the others on this street, a white block with a green tiled roof and a small balcony on a second floor. From the street, there was no sign of activity.
Lina walked up the short drive, looking like she was expected; one attracted less attention that way. Apart from a small kid playing with a dog across the street, the place seemed deserted. Working families, not yet back home from work.
She hit the doorbell, and waited. Noone came; no sign of Heimlich Schröder, the sleeper agent. Irritably, Lina pushed the door open, closed it behind her, and dropped her bags. There was a certain scent in the air she recognised...
There were ways to be certain, first. Then get worried. Lina closed her eyes and concentrated, throwing out the web of shark-sense which allowed her to sense electrical currents. A light on upstairs, the usual bright spots of mains wiring and refrigerator, a small animal, probably a cat, on the roof. But nothing that could be mistaken for a living mind.
Shit. Lina paid attention to the scent of blood on the air; another shark-sense, the acute sense of smell was useful at times. Normals tended to forget about smell. Upstairs, in the master bedroom; Lina made her way up there carefully, trying not to disturb evidence for the police. The less idea they had that someone else had been here the better; Lina's shark-senses would show up easily on a blood test, and the Dominion was jealous of it's Rukine Knights.
Heimlich Schröder was very, very dead. Someone had ripped open his abdominal cavity and levered open his ribcage, removing the guts, heart, and lungs; scraps of the organs were splattered around the room, with a lot of blood.
Lina assessed the situation carefully, and decided that the best thing to do was get the hell out of there, and contact Command. A difficult task, but necessary, if a sleeper had been killed.
And I'm probably the police's main suspect, now. Shit!
She made her way back down the stairs, picked up her bags, and left the house. From the roof, glittering compound eyes watched her go...
A low mist formed accross some of the streets, it was unusually cold tonight, the fog almost suffocated the ground, constricting it. If someone breathed a small puff of condisaation would appear, it was bitterly cold. Many of the poeple stayed in, or if they did go out, wore thick clothing to ward the chill away. The night granted security to some, a dangerous trap to other, weaker individuals.
Kain lied in wait. He had not fed for some time, but he could wait. Patiance...eternal patiance was his, he had eternity to exist, but he did not have eternal time until he had to feed. In the form of some of the fog, Kain waited, vigilant for someone to pass him. Then he would feed. He watched someone with an escort of guards against the cuthroats of the night. Kain could have easily taken them out, but he did not want to run the risk of having an entire patrol on him. He might be able to take them out too, but it would not be advantagous.
Kain did not have his powerful sword with him. He only had a simple sword, yet it would do the job which Kain required. He continued to wait, watching the events, occasionally moving out a little to see further. Kain was only passing by, once he had fed he would leave. He had pressing buisness, but this place needed to be inspected. Kain liked to know what was in the world, he was still new-born in his existance.

Delacroix swooped high over the city trying to memorize the basic layout of the place, he spotted a civillian on her own standing by a shop window, looking in at a pretty gown... unseen, he landed in an alley to the side and approached her, he tapped her politely on the shoulder and enquired "excuse me madam, but would you happen to know the..." he flung his arm at her head and gripped firmly, lifting her from the ground... as she screamed his eyes glowed an ominous red, and he issued a beam of flame, that seemed to roar with the woman's scream, from his finger and cut a large arch in the glass... he released her head, and she fell to the ground unconscious. He then took a skimask from his tattered jacket pocket, and walked inside, picking up a briefcase and tossing it in a luggage bag as he entered... he wandered around the store whistling a relaxed tune throwing in anything that took his fancy, a couple of suits, some jewelry, the cash register... as he walked aroun the counter to get it, however, something else caught his eye, the owner kept a full tang katana underneath the counter... "wowholysh..." Delacroix said, snikering with delight as he ran his finger along the blade, before tossing it in the case, running back to the alley, and whooshing off to find a hotel

Kain saw this and had no reaction to it. A demon perhaps? We shall see.....
He saw his prowess, relatively impressive, the gift of flight, and other more...deadly abilitys. Noting the way that he acted, it was interesting but he did not kill her. Odd...no demon then.
The being went inside te shop and came out swiftly with items. Ah, no demon then. They would have no real use of money like that. A simple thief. Or a unique and foolish demon. Kain had to investigate this. He saw him fly off and approached the woman on the floor. He looked at her, unconcious, for a few seconds. Then he fed off of her, draining her. Kain felt replenished, but he had a new point of interest now.
Who was that?
Kain took a moment to reflect and sent a message to it. Soon afterwards, he began to follow it, at his own pace. He began to walk and turned back into the fog, unseen and unoticed.
Being...what are you, who are you? Kain's voice echoed within the person's mind, his voice confidant yet quiet. His words where clear and piercing. The voice was one of wisdom, of each word calculated to the desried effect.

Lina found a motel for the night, nestled in the taller buildings close to the center of Freiburg, and considered her options.
First, report. Command would probably tell her to get out of Lavenrunz, which she had very little problem with; with the Lavenrunzian police after her (which they very well might be) it was best to not be around when they came knocking.
But who could have killed Schröder, and in such a manner? It wasn't the style of any sane government agent, and the Lavenrunzian secret service was reputed to be sane enough. More like some revenge or warning killing by an organised crime faction; had Schröder been running data into the criminal underworld as well as for the EIC? Lina didn't know, couldn't tell. Data on Lavenrunz' criminal underworld was lacking.
An international call to Der Angst cost quite a bit here, but that was where her contact was.
"Hi Ernst."
Ernst, of course, was not his real name, but it would do.
"Lina, hi? How's your vacation?"
That was an easily translated order; report.
"Oh, quite good. I just got to Freiburg from Schoopstadt, and saw the Fossil Wood."
That was a stand of petrified trees half-buried in one of the nearby beaches; she had seen it, if only from the train. It was also the code name for Schröder.
"But it was raining." she continued. He was dead.
"It was raining? How sad."
"Yes. Do you think I should see the art museum or the state park next?" Should I stay, or get out?
"The state park is supposed to be nice. If it's not raining, of course." Get out, but be careful.
"I'll look at that first then." Heard and affirmed, Commandant.
They continued talking for a few more minutes, mindless banter which Lina found taxing, imagination not being one of her strong points. Then Ernst hung up, and Lina put the phone back down.
She showered rapidly - water might be freely avaliable here, but it was carefully rationed in Tsaraine, where every drop had to be cleansed of radiation, and old habits were hard to break - and dressed conservatively, in black trousers and shirt. The Dominion had strict clothing regulations, and when the state controlled all manufacturing, they weren't easily broken, so Lina was still somewhat uncomfortable around the bright colours and somewhat indecent (to her mind, at least) styles popular in Lavenrunz. Settling her coat around her shoulders, she slipped her wallet into her coat pocket, and went in search of food.
OOC: I have to go do stuff now, but you can do the police if you want, Lavenrunz.

Delacroix focused. he had seen a motel earlier that night! but where? ah... nestled in the taller buildings close to the center of Freiburg... he flew in it's direction ablove the clouds occasionally popping out to take a look... during one of these glances, he spied an armed policeman taking a smoke, looking tense. he landed in another nearby alley then ran over to the policeman, leaving his newly aquired luggage case behind.
"Officer! a man around there just pointed a knife at me and asked for my case!"
"is he still down there?"
"i think so."
the officer paced around the corner, submachinegun drawn.
"what the hell?" there was noone there, but the case sat in the middle... he approaced it shaking...
Delacroix silently creeped up behind him, then Snatched the SMG from his hands without a shot being fired, he span in front of and drew the sword to his throat. the policeman let out a little yelp, that increased in volume as delarcroix stepped back and a circle of flame surrounded him until finally he fainted... Delacroix aquired the officer's equiptment uniform and weapons, and threw a jacket over him to stop him getting hypothermia in the cold. then calmly opened the case, threw the weapons in the briefcase and the rest in the big one. and flew off to the motel.

To the poetic, Freiburg at night would seem almost menacing, with deep pools of shadow between streetlights. Lina, however, was not a poetic soul, and Rukine Knights did not know fear. Caution, yes; caution was always warranted. But fear, and the mind-numbing panic which proved so often disastrous in combat, were unknown to the Eye-Bleeding-Lightning.
Lina found a small fast food store on Freiburg's waterfront, overlooking the calm waters of the harbour. Being a port city, Freiburg's fast food tended heavily towards fish, which were unknown in Tsaraine, as was the fast food concept.
Lina had adapted to it, though, and now she picked her way through a pair of salmon fillets, careful to avoid the myriad tiny bones.

When Civil Guardsman Busch failed to report in, his supervisor was concerned, naturally, and requested a patrol car to go to the area. They were tense as they approached. One of them remained in the car while the other, shotgun ready, got out and in short order found the stripped body.
"Officer down." went through the police bands in the city like the scent of leopard in a a herd of antelope.
Busch was still alive, thankfully, but unconscious still.
At the waterfront...
Lina saw two men, reasonably well dressed, enter the little shop and nod to the Liargan proprietor. They continued towards her and with reasonably deliberateness showed her badges. "We are from the Ministry of Information." the thinner shorter one said. "We'd like to ask you some questions--call it consultation."

Lina nodded in seeming unconcern. "Mind if I finish my fish?" she asked. Unfortunately, the shark-senses weren't advanced enough to convince these agents (Lina could recognise the difference between "police" and "secret service", and these were the latter), and leaving them collapsed on the floor gibbering in terror might attract the attention of the other clientele.

It won't take long..... very soon.
He made his way into the bathroom. He made his way onto the ceiling and sat above the shower. With more demon spawn on his claws he slashed the girl in the shower across the back and scurried out of the apartment before she could see him.
He decided it was time for a proper feast. He made glided through the air until he noticed a homeless man down in an alleyway. He found his meal......

OOC: Im asuming that it is in a house.
"Sir, we have demon activity in sector Beta-Omega3. Its releasing a shitload of abnormal energy fields. It must be feeding"
Rodney looked at his map, he was standing in the middle of a deserted street. A small wind lifted the leafs from the ground, making them spinn around him.
"Roger that, hear that everyone? Get going!"
He, himselfe picked up a small thingy out of his bag. A weak blue circle that slowly faded away could be seen. "Only 300 meter from here" he said softly.
Rodney looked down the street, a house. Lighted lamps, a window open.
He started to walk towards the house..
OOC: Nez'gah is feeding in an alley
IC: Nez'gah finished his meal happily. This one had struggled for a long time before finally giving up. He could hear several footsteps in the distance.
Time to go...... must complete mission
Nez'gah scurried up the wall of a nearby building until he was on the roof. Outstretching his wings once again, he leapt into the air in the search for another victim before the night was over.
Kain felt a strange sense of vertigo, of mutual caution between the forces presant. It only took a second to recognise the feeling. A true demon was presant. It would seem that other forces walk in the shadows. Twice Kain had fought demons, and that was when he was a mortal. But then he had his ideal weapon. Now a vampire, but wihtout the Brightblade, Kain debated if he could kill one. Indeed that would be a unique feed....
But still, much infomation could be gleaned from them. Kain set out to find this demon, to parly with it.
A man in a deep blue robe steps out from the alleyway behind Kain. A pale azure glow is visible from the dark hole in the hood of the robe, and tapping like a large birds talons are heard as he follows The Destroyer...
Kain knew he was being followed. Unshaken he turned to see this new person, unshaken and confidant.
"What do you want of me." Kain spoke to the being, he turned his cloak following him shorly after, his insigna emblazed upon the red cloth in white. The demon could wait for a while. Eternity was his.
"Demon is on the move! I repeat demon is on the move! up with the scopes everyone!"
The blue circle slowly dissapeard from his radar. "damnit!" he said tohimeslfe.
"We have movement, its heading towards beta-36"
"Roger that, everyone. Keep looking and following."
Nez'gah landed in a dark, quiet park. He spotted the small girl heading towards the tree he was in. Once she was under him he dropped down on top of her, tearing at her flesh. He caused significant damage to her left leg whilst making a small wound in her back, implanting the demon spawn. He took one last bite at her leg and ran off at a demonic pace. He had to find a good hiding place in the city or he would have to return home and come back again the next night. Nez'gah considered it too dangerous to be active in the day.
Kain ignored the new figure and launched himself upon the roofs, running as a cat would do, on all fours, claws gripping the house roofs. He had to find this demon, before someone else did.

Delacroix entered the room and after a quick glance around for devices, collapsed on the bed... "Damn, tiring night." He removed the sword and suitcase from his bag, and checked the guns, they seemed to be pretty good... then he unsheathed the sword and tutted. it wasn't exactly the quality he was used to but hey, it had a pointy bit and a handle, it'll work.
He'll have to lay low tonight, no doubt the hunters, and Nez'gah had felt his prescence. no doubt they both wanted him dead, it was a shame, he thought, because he could really use some help against this guy... what he'd heard wasn't encouraging. but then maybe there was one, he picked up the motel's telephone, and hit 9 for an outside line...

Nez'gah could hear many helicopters in the area. He decided that hiding under ground would be his best bet. He quickly scaled a lamp post and leapt off, gliding toward the street. He landed lightly on the sidewalk, spun around and dived into the nerest drain he could find. Now he began his search for an ideal location.

"I'm just trying out my linguistics skills." the woman says with a grin. One of the agents frowns but Lina notices he does not reprove her. In a moment, the door opens and the uniformed aide (he is dressed, Lina notices, in a civil service day uniform, a grey tunic and trousers with his identity tag on) and leads her into the office with the man of rank.
He looks up at her with a sharp glance. Lina knows enough basic Lavenrunzian intelligence to know that this is Baron von Shein, the head of the Imperial Secret Service.
He sits down and says, "Please sit down, Lady Knight."
Nez'gah finally found a little nook behind a large pile of filth. He curled up and began his rest until morning.

Oh shit. Oh shit oh shit oh shit ... Command is going to go fissile. No use lying now. I will have a long talk to whoever wrote that field guide.
"So," she said, feeling her stomach turn to lead and sink into her boots, "You wished to ask me questions, my lord Baron?"
Lavenrunz

"What is your connection with an infamous fiend named Kain Shentavo?" the Baron asks. "Who is in turn connected with another infamous fiend...and others..." he lifts an eyebrow.
Tsaraine

"Kain Shentavo?" Lina frowned. Well, this was definitely not what I was expecting. "Never heard of him." she told the Baron. "I don't know what you're talking about, but I can assure you I don't have any links to whoever this Shentavo person is."

OOC:The avatar of Ceran is my nations empeor as he is the avatar of our god Ceran so im just calling him Ceran. And as im sure you know avatars are EXTREMELY powerful and their senses are really good.
Ceran soared high above the city looking down he thought to him self these pathetic people dont know whats looking between their ranks.
He spotted something on one of the rooves he made it out with his perfect vision and he knew what it was it was a part deamon he swooped down on it landing in front of the beasts his razor sharp, crushing talons tearing deep holes into the roof.
He read the beasts mind it's name was Kain.
David Baris sighed in irritation as he stood in a pool of shadows on a side street of Freiburg and wondered vaguely how he had ended up here. A few years ago he, like every other Haondori, had been blissfully ignorant of the fact that there was a whole other world out their that quite happily spent it's time kicking the laws of nature, such as they were, in their metaphorical balls. Gods, demons, vampires, elves, fairytales in the Dominion, very much real in the rest of the world. Chancellor Wynters, before being deposed by General Snowden, had at the time ordered the creation of the Department of Special Investigations, a perfectly innocuous name that in fact meant they were responsible for keeping an eye on those things that were so brutally molesting the safe sensible principles of science and logic.
To Baris, a lowly Lieutenant in the Special Forces, it had seemed like the opportunity of lifetime. Get to travel, see exotic places, meet exotic beings. "Of course, they forgot to mention "possibly get killed in assorted painful ways by exotic beings."" he thought irritably to himself, as he stood alone and unarmed in a dark street in a foreign country looking for a flesh eating demon. That alone would have been enough to deal with, but half the bloody supernatural world seemed to be in Freiburg tonight. Or so it seemed as he watched.... /something/ swoop out of the sky and land on the rooftop in front of the man (or was it a man?) he had been following. He had found it earlier after it received what as best he could tell was a cell phone (bloody monsters talking to eachother on the cell) from yet another flying being, and Baris was beginning to wonder if the demon was going to prove the worst of his worries.
(OOC If you read Kain's mind he would know. And he already has defences up, which you could break, but he would certainly know about that)
Kain detected someone probing his mind. He said his traps up, and forced the being to retreat its probing or be ensnared within his mental grasps. He sent a message.
Do not enter my mind being! I have enough to concern myself with!
Kain finsihed his conversation abrubtly. "Find th demon, his blood is MINE"
With that he conintued on his way, running at a fast pace, anxious to find it.

IC:Ceran lashed his tail out the lethal poison tip barely missing Kains skin as it tripped Kain Ceran spoke"Dont force me to kill you scum"as he picked him in his right arm his poisoned claws crushing the unfortunate being almost to death before releasing his grasp with a look of suprise.

Ceran said"I must follow that Kain being now and if you see that daemon i will know your feeble mind can not shake my grip."
Nez'gah lay quietly enjoying his peace. He could sense a fair amount of supernatural activity in the city above. But he would worry about them when he next arose.
OOC: Sorry, haven't been on for a while ;)
The figure following Kain was none other than Raziel - once a servant of the Dark Lord - but now, forever a curse on him no matter where, or when, he went.
Sensing his former master knows of his presence, he deactivates the Soul Reaver, hoping that in its deactivation, the Dark One would find it harder to find him...

Kain felt his defences being shattered and tossed aside. This thing is no demon. Something more....
Feeling it crushing Kain he would have bellowed out in anger and rage, but he had other plans. Kain almost whispered. "You are simply out of luck...." and with that Kain disolved into mist, and disipated from view.
He did not need this! All he wanted was to talk to this demon, and then kill it. He had no buisness with this other being. It was far too powerful, yet it might have made a mstake threatening me.
Seeing what occured, Raziel dissapeared in a green blur - moving into another plane to chase Kain...

(OOC I hope you know what you are doing. Kain is not the Kain from Soul Reaver....he looks llike it and acts like it, but he is not. I really hope for your sakes this turns out well.....I have done Kain as he was a human, and he was quite different.)
Kain continued to hunt the demon. He was thirsty.....
Night had finally reached the city again. Nez'gah raced through the sewers and came out in a deserted alley way. It was time to continue his mission. He was also curious about the other beings roaming the city. He was not worried though, being one of Lord Arithon's top generals meant you were a very powerful demon. Nez'gah decided a mass infestation was in order and began searching for some sort of mass congregation of humans.

Ceran seeing the thing dissipate before its eyes he thought to himself what a cheap trick.
He sensed through out the universe and all the dimensions once he had located Kain he disappeared being engulfed in what appeared to be a dark whirlwind portal.
When he came ut he was on the bulding next to him even though he was in another plane spying on Kain he suspected Kain knew he would follow him.
Ceran was waiting for the right time to strike against the daemon although if Kain got in the way he would be disposed of Ceran didnt want to kill Kain he would useful.
You have a shadow Kain
His cloak offered its insight to the other realms. It was after all, a animated being. It was utterly loyal, and could pass to other planes of existrance. It saw this new figure, he must have seen him.
Thank you cloak.
Kain could not do anything right now. He would only seek out the demon, and ask it some questions. Then perhaps a feed. It depends on its answers.
((Interesting. How are the demon hunters faring, Kain? Do they need some stiffening?))
((Interesting. How are the demon hunters faring, Kain? Do they need some stiffening?))
(( I am not really sure. There are all kinds of people here. It would be interesting to have one of you people here, because you wouldn't want a demon roaming around, nor do you trust Kain. That would offer a great opertunity for tension. Bring someone in. And btw, once again the events in the arena are AFTER this.)
Kain sensed the demon was close. he would summon up the Brightblade if needs be, that would either enrage him, or make him flee. It would depend upon how powerful it was. But not now. The demon would judge Kain too fast upon the nature of the weapon. But the demon might not care about its own kind. The threat of what can be done is reason enough to show him.
Demon. I come to you with no hostile intent. I only wish to converse. Kain's voice was humble, and respectful. He knew this demon was powerful, and he stepped lightly.
((If one of my people came upon Kain making peaceful overtures to a demon, 'Subject 57' would be terminated, and Kain couldn't really say anything in his own defense))
"Ah, smell that? That's the smell of a demon lord. It is somewhere in this city. It is... yes?" Captain Biagio said to the young woman in the back of the dropship.
"Um, Captain, sir? I don't smell anything."
"What is your name, child?"
"Mia." The young woman said.
"Well, Mia, of course you can't. But when you become a captain, you begin to feel these things. This is a powerful demon."
One of the men put up his hand. "So, that's why Richelieu sent a full squadron?"
"Yes."
The dropship landed. And the 10 men of HRI Squadron Temperance armed and readied themselves.
Kain stood upon a rooftop. The moon was full, damn that might work into my disadvanatge. The sword was more powerful, more unruly. It might do something unexpected.
Demon. I wish to meet you and talk.
Rain began, the droplets of rain pittering upon the roof. Kain stood waiting, looking into the night waiting for the demon to answer. His hair was begining to get wet, his cloak just accepted the rain cheerfully and enjoyed the feeling. The water just ran off it. Cloak began a silent conversation suing mind messages.
What are you going to ask it Kain?
Its motives. It's reasons for doing what it does.
What killing? Maiming "innocneces"?
Aye, Cloak, aye. I only want to know how he justifys it. We are akin, in some ways.
A breif pause.
What will happen afterwards?
I will slay it.
Another pause. Kain continued to look ahead, the cloak considered.
Are you sure you can do that? Kill that? I mean, think realisticly Kain! That thing has been existing for wide spans of time! What makes you sure you can beat it?
I will not beat it, at least not alone. The Brightblade will help. Demon against demon yes?
Are you sure the sword will comply?
Yes. It has no other choice. Either that or never be free.
Sometimes, you even amaze me.
Cease with the flattery. This plan is flawed, but the rewards are too great Cloak.
Kain continued to wait. Watching for his prize to turn up.

The Seer saw what Kain was attempting to do. They where discusing what should be done. The hall was blue and spans up to as high as the eye could see. Each person stood within an alcolve, the dead matryers deciding the fate of this Kain.
Old Man-I saw we bring the demon out. That way, Kain dies and possibly the other demon!
Young Woman-Nay! Allow Kain to confront the demon. If he works with the beast then we allow the sword its liberty to attack them both.
Teenager-Why can we not allow Kain to live as he chooses? He is not a threat!
A bickering ensues. The usual arguements. Zelemon stood at the head, listening deciding. He rose from his seat and ushered them all into silence.
Velemon-Here is what we shall do. We shall allow Kain to show his intent. If he works with the demon we release the sword. If he fights, we shall allow him to fight him. If he loses, we release the sword on condition that he kills the other demon. If he wins....well. That will not happen.
The council agreed on this, and once again, returned to thier slumber within the halls of the Seer, the dead spirits still effecting the world. But...some of the sprits where going mad, through their torment. They wanted to be free, but they could not. They where trapped to serve, by thier own choice once.

(Sorry. Firing ignore cannon at own post.)
The inquisitors looked around. They could sense an evil. Two evils. Walking into the city, they picked it up immediately. "Vampire. And not just any vampire. Subject 57 is here. Probably going to make contact with that demon. We must move quickly."
Kain did not mind the rain. It felt good. Patiance was his. The demon would turn up. It must.
Nez'gah sensed Kain's message.
Hmmm a vampire. I do not trust your kind. You are part human. Perhaps we shall encounter eachother later.
Nez'gah proceeded into the house full of noisy teenage humans and began to tear, bite and scratch at all of them, implanting the demon spawn. Within minutes he was gone and the occupants of the house that remained alive were confused as to what had just happened.
OOC: These demon spawn take 1-2 days until they burst out of the host. (Remember the Alien movies?). These new demons have the ability to change into human shape. They are realatively strong but nowhere near Nez'gah's level.

Do not accosate me with a human. I was not a human beforehand. Very well. I shall speak wit you later
Kain wondered about it and departed.
Nez'gah left the house with a sense of accomplishment. He had infested over 100 humans.
Vampire...... why do you wish to meet with me? And who are these other forces I sense?
Daniella had heard of the demon problem. Being human, but empathic to a dangerous level and one hell of a dagger master, decided to come look for Kain and try to help him. She entered the city, and immediatly felt the demon presence.
It is far from me. This much is good.

Ceran looked at Kain and intercepted his message but then he saw something elsedown below him in the alley between the two buldings were a gang of people bragging about things.
Ceran jumped down from the bulding entering this plane as he landed his razor sharp crushing talons each cathing an unfortunate victim in the head instantly crushing/pulverzing/slashing through their heads.
He picked slashed his claws about cathing most of them in the wind pipe!
Then the last one alive fled he swung his tail around the victims neck constricting the one who tried to flee then raising the lethally barbed end and smashing it through the skull!
Then he noticed something three witness' he spat deadly corrosive toxins at one of them the deadly toxin eating through her skull and poisoning her brain the deadly toxins killed her instantly.
He ran over to the others impaling one through the chest with his tail and slashing a shallow cut around her arm the deadly toxins instantly killing him.
Nez'gah felt the presence of another force. This one was human but had some abilities not common to her race.
Hmmmm perhaps I shall infest her.
Nez'gah jumped off a nearby bridge and flew upward into the sky. He wasn't sure where he was going but he would find something to occupy himself with.
Daniella had dressed in all black. Being the Queen, running away had been difficult, but she could feel Kain somewhere nearby. This gave her strength.
Somewhere in the distance, she could feel a demon comming nearer. She took out her poison-tipped blade, and held it, ready.
Nez'gah sat himself on top of a tall building and observed the happenings below. Perhaps he would spot one of these forces he had sensed.
Glad she was on a large street, she stuck in the shaddows.
Kain! I am here! she called to him with her mind.
Nez'gah spotted the woman when she called out to Kain. He did not feel the need to engage her.
Human. What do you want with me and the vampire?
Daniella jumped in suprise.
Kain is my close friend. Ever since he came to my aid a while back, I have owed him a great deal. I am here to find him and serve him. What do you want with me?
She stopped moveing, and shivered in the night air. She knew she wasn't communicating with a human.
You are of no concern to me human. As long as you stay out of my way.
I make no promices. The only assurance I can give you is this; if you stand in Kain's way, you stand in mine.
OOC: I have to go to school. I will RP again when I'm home.
OOC: it's 9:45pm here :D. Cya
IC: I have no concern with the vampire either. Unless he stands in my way. Then you shall both suffer.
Daniella? What the hell? Damn now I have to worry about her? I do not think I can do this now!
Daniella? What the hell are you doing here?Kain's voice was angry, the demon was getting away, he was suspicous. Damn this all to hell! There where too many independant forces here, and now I have to worry about protecting her! Damn!
The rain came harder now, the wind blowing Cape with it. Kain was annoyed now. His plans where ruined. Might have been for the best....but.....that demon. Bah, let the others deal with it. I have better things to do than this.
He approached her, the rain was getting annoying now. And she would get soaked to the skin.
Kain was about to ask the cape to cover her, but it already did.
One step ahead of you.it spoke silently to Kain, as it hovered about her, keeping her as dry as possible, the fabric glowing a slight purple.
In front of Daniella, a blue light opens a rift portal....
Suddenly a figure step out of the portal, a figure made of pure blue light...
Slowly the figure takes the form of a man, dressed in a bright blue suit with golden chains in his shoulders...his features are strange, yet more beautiful than any man´s face, his eyes are lightning blue, and his golden hair falls down over his shoulders.
he smiles to her and says "So, you are Daniella. I´m Haudhen...I need to talk with you, I was sent here to protect you"
Daniella stepped out from under the cloak.
"Kain, I'm here to serve you. Please, the Danyans like rain. I brought these." She held up on eo f her daggars. "On the blade is an ancient poisen which will render demons defenceless, and cause their internal organs to shut down. I am well versed in the art of blades, as you should know by now. I protect myself."
Her own black cloak was waveing in the wind. The hood fell, exposing her long blonde hair and green eyes.
"Trust me."
Daniella turns to Haudhen.
"Thank you, but I protect myself."
Kain was set aback. Not only was she good to tlak to, she could defend herself. Excellent! Kain took the dagger. and smiled in gratifuaction.
"Thanks....but you do not serve me. As I would never have a master, nor would I have a servant, or anything of the kind. I thank you. we are allys at least." Kain looked at her, slighlty wet. It made her more beautiful in her clothes, the glimmer of beauty was stronger now. Something twiged within Kain. But it passes very quickly. Perhaps there was hope.....
Demon. Come forth to me, or I shall destroy you where you stand! I have one of your kind kept prisoner, I will not hesditate to enslave you aswell!
Kain lloked into the gloom once more.

OOC: Too late for someone else to step in?
Haudhen smiles with a dissappointed grin "...Maybe you will find that demons more powerful than you expect...And I know you can protect yourself, but my duty forces me to help you in any way...The demons were my enemy many thousands of years ago, and they still are. I´m the opposite of demons..."
An strange voice echoes through the hall "He will serve you, to the best of his abilities, you like it or not...Kain, let him join your cause....he´s a worthy opponent of any demon..."
Daniella, hair now soaked and blowing wildly in the wind, pointed to the top of a building.
There. I feel him. He reads my thoughts, as well.

Ceran sensed the other new presence that had entered this realm.
Ceran silently morphed into humanoid form(him being a shape shifter and all)the form was of a tall and well built male who and there was something intelligent lokking about him.
He walked out of the alley and saw the Angel the human was of no concern unless She got in his way then she would be dealt with.
He walked up to all three people knowing that Kain was sure it was Ceran.
Nez'gah hissed.
Vampire..... do not test me. You are meddling with forces beyond you.
Then he noticed tha angel appear.
Be gone with you..... my affairs do not concern you!
Nez'gah turned around, ran to the other side of the building and leaped into the air. The appearance of an angel was a problem. He must inform Lord Arithon of this.
Angel?
Daniella glanced briefly at the newcommer. This creature was right. Hee was no human.
"Kain, what now?"
Once Nez'gah found a distant, quiet spot he contacted Lord Arithon.
Master.... I have a problem. An angel has arrived and is opposing me.
This is a problem indeed. Continue as planned, try to avoid the angel. If you need aid, I shall send it.
Yes master....... thankyou.
While Kain was discussing things with the angel (which will surely come once he's online), Daniella slipped away, off of the street and down an alley. She came t a brick wall, but climbed the fire escape on the building. She knew this was not the building the demon was on, and felt she was safe. All the same, she pulled out another knife.
Kain looked around. Was this a place a hive fro all the supernatural things in this universe? Damn this all.....
I know of which I meddle demon. I have one of your own kind prisoner. Is that not reason enough to perk your interest?
"What the....why at every turn am I followed, watched, judged, mocked, riducled, or belittled by supernatural forces? Do as you wish, just do not get in my way! The demon's blood is mine!" Kain's voice was synical and slightly angry.
He launched himself upwards from the roof, leaping higer onto higher buildings in the hard rain. Kain fgelt he had to resolve this now.
"Nes-garrentx-inheth!" Kain summoned into the night as he ran. A rumbles of complaince, as the Brightblade fell from the sky and came to Kain's grip. As per usual the demon within the balde gave resistance, thier spirits battling for supremicy.
But Kain won the demon over. He always did. But this time, it was harder, he was more resistant. Odd. Leaping through the rain, the demon blade within his cloven claws, Kain charged forward after the demon. The sword glew red, it was promised its freedom for slaying the other demon.
Kain's eyes glew red, his battle rage consuming him. The thirst was growing stronger. fortuantly, with one stroke, the demon would sustain him and grant him new found abilitys...ones which Kain wished for deeply.
The voice of Haudhen echoes in Kain´s mind "Don´t let him defeat you, you are heaven´s last resource..."
The light ray strikes the demon in the middle chest, dissolving him...
Haudhen stands behind Kain, his hand still warm... "He´s not the one I´m looking for...Where´s Nez´gah?, he´s the real issue here..."
Kain laughed synically. Another saint eager to use me. I am tierd of these games. I am cutting the strings soon. Is this another ploy Seer? To bend me to your will?
"Me? Heaven's last resort? If that is true that heaven is in a dire state of affairs. I do not know of what you speak, of this....Nez'gar. Is that the demon's name?"
The Brightblade in Kain's hand shook violantly, and settled down, there was now a whisp of red energy trailing around the sword. he knew what that meant....
(The Brightblade looks like the Soul Reaver, but is not)
(OOC Kain is the same personality (almost) as Kain from soul reaver. he does NOT know about raziel etc and all that. So please, do not come out of the blue and place plots upon him. If you want to know about him look around....and if there is a fight with a demon it will be done with far better quality than that, we want a raging battle. Not just dissolving a demon immediatly.)
Daniella reached the roof, pulling herself up. It was too late to realize, but a demon fleeing from a battle had jumped up, and spotted her. Daniella began to run, but the roof only went so far. She was trapped. She pulled out a knife and spun around, hurling it into his chest. Daniella watched the dirty body fall, and listened with satisfaction to the soft thud. She felt another victory over the beasts.
Kain, I killed one.
Then Daniella noticed a small scratch on her arm.
Damn, does a scratch do anything?
OOC: Haudhen is an angel, he don´t like extreme violence, and that was a lesser demon, not worth the fight...the REAL tough demons don´t dissolve that easily. He´s here to help you out, so don´t be so rude with him
IC: "I don´t like to help, you withered wretch, but it´s my duty, think whatever you want...And this Nez´gar is a powerful demon, worth of the brightblade edge, you will find him when the moment arise, you should take care of Daniella now, I think she´s in trouble"
Daniella, not getting a responce from Kain, began wandering around again, lost. Her blade, her only protection, was gone. She was scratched, and unsure if this would kill her.
All she could do was search for the one she senced.

Ceran jumped up ontop of a roof dark armour materialising on him he looked through the helmet and saw 6 demons waiting there.
One of them lunged for him he dispatched with a blow to the neck tearing its head laughing he thought an invocation and a double bladed sword appeard in his hand its blade composed it of pure energy its golden glow making the demons hiss when the next two came he dispatched them the blade searing through their daemonic flesh.
Then the remaining ones lunged for him he made the sword disappear and gathered a small supply of his unlimited strength and blew the motherfuckers back to hell destroying a couple of buildings he didnt care it wasnt his country.
He then disappeared behind the angel and began to speak"Leave or die this daemon must be destroyed and you're not standing in the way of its destruction!"
Nez'gah could sense the battle with the other demons. They were of no concern to him. He reached out to Kain.
You think you can destroy me vampire? And with that sword? You are out of your league. I am not concerned with the demon you have in that sword so be gone.
He then located the angel.
Angel what is your purpose here. I do not meddle in the affairs of heaven. Be gone before you regret your actions.
Daniella kept going, unaware of the battle. She felt more demons nearby. She ducked to watch. One seemed to be giving the others orders.
Nez'gah hoped he could distract the vampire and lose him. He send a flaming ball of energy directly at Daniella. She was preoccupied with the other demons and did not notice it.
The energy ball came soaring at Daniella, but turned away and hit a demon instead.
Silly demon, you should know Danyans are telekenetic (SP), as well. We can move things with our minds.
Nez'gah laughed.
Look again human. The demon that just exploded has covered you in it's blood. Silly human..... you should know that demon blood is poisionous.
True, but I know you can save me from dying. Also from this little cut. And, if it is your wish to find Kain, take me prisoner. He'll come for me.
Daniella hoped Kain wasn't going to come for her. She'd rather die, but she had to help protect him. If keeping this demon occupied long enough to send him a message to get to safety, it would be worth it. But giving the demon an advantage like this was down right stupid.
I have no further use for you. You may await your death in peace.
Nez'gah focused on Kain.
Vampire....... you may want to check out your human friend...... while she still lives.
Kain, no! Get out while you can! The angel will protect you!
Daniella got up and ran slowly to the edge of the building.
Go on vampire..... she won't last long. You'll need the angel if you want to save her once you locate her.
The Angel Samuel watched on with sadness as the human girl was covered in poison. He knew in her heart she was filled with good, and would serve a purpous later on. He swooped down, and looked her in the eyes.
"Daniella, it is not your time to go. Be whole."
A tear ran down the Angel's cheek, and he rose up, letting it fall on her. She glowed for a second, then was healed. He handed her a small vile on a chain to wear on her neck.
"This is full of my tears. Should you need them, a small drop will do."
He acended back into the heavens.
Daniella watched the angel go, and took the tears and put them around her neck.
Kain, I'm fine. Stay away! The evil one is here!
OOC: F!*k me..... another angel. Where did this one come from?
IC: Nez'gah detected the presence of another angel. He roard with frustration as he landed in a secluded street far away from Kain and the others.
Daniella almost burst with laughter for the demon's frustration.
I told you you should have taken me prisoner. Too late now!
Do not anoy me human or I shall kill you myself. No angel tears will save you then!
Daniella quickly stopped the teasing.
I'm sorry. But why do you want to kill Kain? Why is he so importaint to you?
Kain???? The vampire...... he is not important to me. I do not wish to encounter any of you. So leave me be or I shall be forced to make you.
The what is your purpous? You must have some kind of mission . . .
My purpose does not concern you!
Nez'gah walked up to a couple sitting on the park bench and tore them apart. He began to feed on thier lifeless bodies. He then proceeded to hunt down anyone in the park and plant more demon spawn. The amount of demons in the city was growing quite significantly.
Daniella sat down to rest.
How easily you forget . . . I am human, too . . .
I do not forget. This is not your nation nor am I attacking you. So it does not concern you.
OOC: i gota go. Homework :x
OOC: Okay.
IC:
But somehow you must feel me a threat, to try and kill me. I want to stop you from hurting others. Do you know how much one person dying effects those of us who are empathic? We feel it. All of their pain.

OOC: Very very sorry to tie you up--just so much going on. (directed to Tsaraine)
IC:
The Baron is about to reply when a phone call comes, which he takes. He frowns, listening, and says, "Very well." and hangs up. Looking at Lina, he says, "Things have sped up more quickly than I thought. Some kind of horrible attack is going on here. I have no time for games. If you can help us--you must."
(Where does Lavenrunz fit in?)
OOC: Hi. Please come to the General forum and post a reply to What you think about 9-11?. I would be very grateful if you would.
Kain was enraged now. This was his fight. His perpose was his own. he needed this to progress! He needed this to enact revenge upon thos ewho had betrayed him.
(To the Brightblade)Listen. we work together now. Work with me and your freedom shall soon be yours. We shall attack those who imprisoned you. But first for us to do that, we must defeat the demon yes? Are you with me?
The Birghtblade roared into life, the eyes of the skull hilt glowing a malicous red, it's freedom was promised. The sword balde grew black, and faces bellowing began to form.
Pure rage began to build up with Kain, the demon's change was infectous. He roared into the darkenss enraged at this predicament. All he needed to do was kill a powerful demon then feed off them. Then he would be allowed entry, he would be powerful enough.
"Damn you! Demon fight me this day!" Kain roared and sprang into action, running like a cat on all fours after the demon. The thirst was growing now.
I am sorry but I must do this. Do not get killed! this demon is powerful and the hoarde he commands.
Kain? What is happening?
I do not have time to explain! I have to kill this demon in order to resolve grave matters within my old nation. Please, do not get involved with this battle
Daniella ran for cover in a building. A man of about 25 saw her come in, and he ushered her inside and told her she could hide with them in the basement. Daniella took him up on his offer.
Okay. Tell me when it's safe.
OOC: Off to school! Don't do anything about the terrorist. His mission is to kill someone.
The inquisitors run out from behind the place they were hiding. "Freeze, 57. We will take it from here. Thank you."
Haudhen looks at Daniella, making sure she´s ok. "Thanks to god Samuel helped her...."
Then he turns to Kain "You deluded fool!, you´re not going to harm him with that cursed weapon...if you really want to fight that demon... you need to fight me first...Do you care about something?, even victory, egotist?...Fight me then, if you want a real fight"...He stands in front of Kain, with his eyes closed, suddenly a bright light protudes from his hand, taking the form of a brilliant energy greatsword...
"let´s see if you can beat....vampire..."
(OOC: Am I the only standard human here? :P )
Baris sprinted through the dimly lit streets, ignoring the rain as he attempted to keep up with his inhuman prey, and not for the first time sent a silent prayer of thanks for the intense physical exercise he had been put through in his Special Forces days, and the brutal training during his "boot camp" for Special Investigations that had taught him to ignore pain and exhaustion until after the mission was complete.
He had watched silently from a sidestreet the exchange between the vampire, angel? and woman and then Kain had suddenly gone off like a rocket, leaving Baris to struggle to keep up, hoping he would lead him to the demon, not that he had yet figured out what he was going to do with the demon when he found it.
Suddenly the road came to an end and he found himself beneath the trees of a park. He cursed viciously as when he finally found a clearing Kain had vanished. With a sigh he walked over to a park bench to sit down, but stopped suddenly when he found two bodies....he could not even tell how old they had been, or whether they were male or female, they were so badly mauled. He looked around warily and reached into his coat, pulling out a long dagger, it's hilt and blade engraved with runes that he could not read, and that made his eyes water if he looked at them too long. He had no idea where the knife had come from.
When he had accepted this mission from Special Investigations it had been given to him with simple instructions, "If you find the demon, use this. If you find anyone who has been injured by the demon, use the blade. I don't care if it's a 5 year old girl or a 90 year old grandmother, trust me you'll be doing them a favor." That was it, and three days later he was in Freiburg, chasing vampires in the dark.
He knew by the state of the bodies that they could not have been infested, so keeping the dagger concealed by his side he walked the pathways of the park. After a few minutes, and against his wishes, he found something. A woman, attractive and about his age, was leaning against a tree, a dazed expression on her face and a deep slash across her shoulder. With a sick feeling in his stomach he mouthed a prayer for forgiveness as he approached her with a false smile, "Are you all right miss?" She looked up, her eyes still fogged, "I, I think so, it was the strangest thing, there was a shadow, and then I feel and cut my arm, I think." He nodded soothingly and as she stood unsteadily offered his arm to support her. She smiled in thanks, and never even noticed the movement of his arm as he drove the dagger upwards into her stomach. She jerked slightly, a confused expression on her face, but Baris' attention was on her shoulder. As soon as the dagger entered her body he heard a high pitched whine and oily black smoke began to coil up from the wound in her shoulder.
It faded and he gently lowered the womans body to the ground. He withdrew the dagger, noticing that as always it was spotlessly clean, and with clenched teeth continued his hunt.
OOC: Sure. But Danyans have only two powers, being able to use more of their brains than most.
IC:
Daniella stood between the angel and the vampire.
"No! Stop it!"
"Prepare to die, Vampire." The Roanian Inquisitors pull out their pistols. "You are guilty of possession of a demonic weapon, thwarting the cause of justice, and threatening one of the Lord's emmisaries." They turn to the girl. "Stand aside, woman."

OOC:Mind if i confront Nez'Gah
Ceran flew of wings spouting out of his back he looked around and saw Nez'Gah he swooped down knocking the daemon down and with a thought he reverted to the form he was in at the start and a massive double bladed sword its blade made of pure energy.
He lunged at the daemon his talons barely missing his head and slamming ito a thick trunked tree smashing it to splinters.(Ceran was only toying with him)
Nez'gah was enraged now. He let loose a roar that shook the very earth beneath him and Ceran.
ARRRR Be gone! I have no issues with you.
He unleashed wave after wave of demonic fire at Ceran whilst releasing his poision spines toward him at the same time. Nez'gah rose to his full height (something he rarely does) and looked down on Ceran. Within seconds a very large group of spawned demon were standing next to Nez'gah. For the first time he actually spoke.
"LEAVE!!!!!!"
Daniella stood her ground.
"No. Kain is the only reason I'm alive today. I'm not going to let you kill him just because he's trying to rid your city of demons. You should be offering your assistance!"
Daniella stood her ground.
"No. Kain is the only reason I'm alive today. I'm not going to let you kill him just because he's trying to rid your city of demons. You should be offering your assistance!"
"He is an evil vampire. A demon as bad as any other." The inquisitors leveled their guns at the foolish girl.
Daniella sighed.
"Prove it to me, and I shall stand aside."
"What? He is a vampire!" Biagio snorts in disgust. "What further proof could you require?"
Karli points her arm cannon at Daniella. "Perhaps she has been tainted by him."
Nez'gah commanded the demons (now numbering in the hundreds) to attack Ceran. They swarmed his body and all grabbed for a piece to destroy. Nez'gah extended a spine from his arm and wedged it directly into the chest of Ceran whilst he was being held by the demons.
"I can assure you I've been tainted in no way. The vampire has been working with the angel to stop the attacks on your innocent people. I offer my assistance, because it is the right thing to do."
Daniella pulled the hood off of her cloak.
"Besides, if you kill me, the Queen of Danya, you are entering a battle that has no hope of being won."
Nez'gah grinned.
That was just a warning.... if you survive you should know better than to cross a demon such as myself.
Nez'gah departed into the air, leaving Ceran behind covered in wounds and a gaping whole in his chest.
"You have us wrong... m'lady. These are not our people. We are here to destroy a demon. And he is the only demon we have see..." The Inquisitors stop. "Grr. A greater deamon. Here?"
They turn and go, capes flying behind them. Biagio can't resist a parting shot. "Well, 57, looks like once again you are saved from justice by a woman."
OOC: They're going to attack Nezgrah. Better get ready...
Daniella felt the pain.
"The angel!"
She ran to him, and, finding him alone, put the tears from her vile on his body.
"We need you!"
"DEMON! Come out and face us!" The 10 Inquisitors take up position, holy energy at their beck and call.
Daniella watched them, and sighed.
"Foolish humans. He commands hundreds of demons."
"This is our mission. We are the Holy Roanian Inquisition. We exist for no other purpose than to destroy evil." A cross is pulled out. "We summon you, demon! In the name of your unholy oaths, appear before us!"
OOC: He's not logged on anymore . . .
OOC: Just setting the stage.

Nez'gah sent out a mental message.
You do not command me human! I shall not come at your summons. Occupy yourselves with these.
Around one hundred demons leaped out of the trees and stood before the Roanians, ready to attack.
Perhaps you will learn something from this experience.
Nez'gah was far away from this scene. He was busy planting more demon spawn in a homeless shelter.

"You want my help," Lina said disbelievingly, "I'm not sure if I'm qualified to help you. But why do you think I could possibly help you? I know nothing about Lavenrunz's criminal underground. I told you that."
"The threat in question is supernatural." says the Baron flatly. "We know who you are--and what you are. But we have very few people who have encountered this sort of thing--somehow Freiburg has become some kind of nexus." he turns to his aid. "Play that disc."
Gesturing towards a corner, where a video screen is, he presses a button under his desk and a film shows a woman in hospital moaning on an operating table. Horrible claw marks, obviously recent, disfigure her. They defy efforts to close them.
"This woman, Frieda Hassler, is a Lavenrunzian subject." says Baron von Shein in a voice of cold fury. "And this shows her two hours later."
The woman is in a near coma; her wounds have not closed, but something seems to ripple and move in her body.
"One of our chief occultists back in Hofburg assured us that this is a sign of demonic posession following an attack. He is on his way--but he is an old man, and frail. We have an officer who was trained in Menelmacar and is capable of fighting a supernaturl threat, but Lady Knight, we need your help. And in the name of the Empress who is friend to your beloved leader of Tsaraine, I ask for it."
Elsewhere...
The Civil Guards helicopter fires several shots at the fleeing people but suddenly holds off.
Up in the helicopter. "Didn't you hear, idiot? Queen of Danya?" cries one of the Guards to the rifleman.
"Look, anyone can say that." shouts the other. "Sure, and I'm the King of the Castle. They're getting away!"
"YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!" the megaphone voice shouted down.
An armored car roars up onto the scene along with an APC. Several soldiers are getting out, one of them listening to a communications helmet. He walks up and says warily, "You are the Queen of Danya, Madam?"
Haudhen looks at the inquisitors with rage painted in his eyes"You foolish mortals, Nez´Gah is more than a simple demon...Why we angels are condemned to die to save you humans?, you don´t even want to save yourselves!..."
Then he turn to Kain "This vampire is your only chance of survival, only he can destroy the demon, and still you want to kill him?..."
He takes the hand of Daniella and kisses her in the forehead, "you...you are my last hope...you need to convince this vampire of finding redemption...take care of him, and protect him from himself"
Suddenly he turns towards Kain, and with a big jump he throws himself in the Brightblade until the point of the sword appears in his back...
Golden Blood appears in the angel´s lips, and silver tears in his eyes....and with his last breath he says to Kain "Now....this sword is truly a Demonbane blade, blessed with the blood and tears of an angel...Now you can defeat Nez´Gah...M..my fate is fulfilled, I can rest now...W.w..hen you confront him, r..member the ancient angel battlecry and fight for victory..."
He roars the long forgotten battlecry of the Archangel Michael´s Legion, then die in peace, sacrificing himself for the greater good...
Daniella let a tear run down her cheek as the angel died. She turned to Kain, wiping it quickly.
"What now? He died for you!"

OOC: Okay: my posts are being ignored. The original author and I agreed to put this in my city. If I'm just interrupting, fair enough, but then I wash my hands of this thread altogether.
David Baris stood in the shadow of a large tree at the edge of the park and watched what a mere three years ago he would have thought to be the ramblings of a madman had he been told about it. The Roanians were still standing about, making futile demands for the demon to appear, though after what he had seen in the park he wasn't entirely sure he wanted to be around if it worked. He could only shake his head in wonder as the angel? threw itself on his vampire quarry's blade and murmured something he could not hear.
He was safely in the shadows out of the spotlight of the Civil Guard helo, but he cursed and withdrew further as the APC's came screeching up. Haondor and Lavenrunz had no official diplomatic contact and he didn't relish the thought of explaining the trail of bodies he had left in the park behind him, "Oh yes you see, they were infested by demons so I had to kill them."
Carefully he slipped the enchanted dagger back into it's seath in the hidden pocket of his coat and retreated deeper into the shadows, watching the unfolding circus.
(OOC: Things are getting very hectic. Nez'gah had gotten out of there long before the angel killed itself. We beat the crap out of Ceran *still waiting for a response* and has left the scene altogether. Lavenrunz..... you should continue. You helped get this RP going so you should be a part of it. Perhaps you should just move a little faster as this rp seems to go rather quickly.)
IC: Nez'gah sensed the death of the angel. This was good and bad news. The angel was gone but he had made the vampire's sword a problem. Nez'gah crawled out of the homeless shelter, the occupants all infested with demon spawn. For the moment he would attempt to avoid those pursing him.

Ceran laughed calling him a coward as he shook off all the daemon spawn and obliterating them the wounds regenerating he flew off after Nez'Gah once he caught up with him and slammed his clawed fist through his stomach and pulling organs out he then went around to the front of the daemon and picked him up around the neck his claws nearly breaking through his isophagus(spellt right?) and said"you are weak try putting a spike though me now" as his skin changed into an ultra hard armoured carapace.
"Im the physical manifest of a god im here to stop your mission"He bellowed.

Shit. No, that is *not* what Command would want.
"Waitaminute!" Lina said hurriedly. "Explain to me precisely what you're talking about, please. We may be able to come to some agreement."

The Lavenrunzian soldiers had not been trained to deal with demons, and nearly all of them had fled in horror and panic. One or two had gone near catatonic. Five, four men and a woman, had been kneeling in prayer and, though terribly shaken, remained so.
Kain roared and charged into the masses, his body colliding with many of the hoarde. With the help of his own demon-sword he created apath of destructuing, each spilling of the demon's blood filled Kain with new energy. He might be able to kill enough demons to gain sufficant power instead of killing one greater. Kain decided this was the best option and continued to hack and blast his way through. It was a tough fight, but Kain had fought against demons with the Brightblade and won, and that was when he was human.

10 Holy Warriors, equipped with armor that would make a Phalanixian Elite sit up and beg. Some of them are mortally wounded, but they're not going to let themselves die until they kill the demon.
IC: "DEMON! WE DEFEATED YOUR MINIONS! COME AND FIGHT."
OOC: ok..... sounds good.
IC: Nez'gah sensed the message from the holy warriors but was too concerned with Ceran. He was proving far more of a problem than expected.
The heat did not effect Nez'gah at all as he was used to infernals much hotter than this. Nez'gah also raised to his full height but was still 6 inches short of Ceran. He flapped his wings so intensely that the dark whirlwind was dispersed. Nez'gah began to harden his outer layers whilst still engulfed in his demonic flame.
"Why do you interfere in the affairs of demons?"
Finally, the Inquisitors grow tired of waiting. They pull out chalk and draw a pentagram. Then, they use all of their might to summon Nez'gah. Holy tendrils come from them. Captain Biagio chants, "Nez' gah! Lo convochiamo! Obbedirci, nel nome del suo signore scuro!"
As Nez'gah raised hos power to combat Ceran he noticed strange looking tendrils approaching him.
The demon seemed shocked when it found itself inside the pentagram. "Hello, demon."
Nez'gah looked down on the holy warriors. He spat in the pentegram, causing a loud crackling noise.
Humans...... why must you persue me?
"To destroy you. I am Captain Biagio of the Holy Roanian Inquisition. Your minions have mortally wounded several of my men. I am here to end your existence." He drew his holy sword. None of the inquisitors noticed the lines of the pentagram being imperfect.

Nez'gah smiled......
You think so do you?
With an obvious burst of energy Nez'gah burst the containing pentegram. He spread out his wings and called even more demonic flame. The pentegram was replaced with a circle of demonic flame.
If you wish to live I suggest you leave.
"HOLY BLAST!" Concentrated light energy shot from the inquisitor's hands.
Nez'gah released a wave of demonic flame into the holy blast, completely engulfing it.

The ten inquisitors draw their holy blades. "Demon, whether we live or die matters not. We will banish you!" They charge into the dark lord.

"Leave us be bellowed Ceran in a voice like thunder."
As he said powerful magics swirled around knocking the Roanians down the holy sword flying from the captains sword hand "Do not make me kill you." he roared in a voice that could make the gods cower.
"For it is within my power" He let out with a bestial roar.
Then a two bladed sword appeared in his hand its blade composed of pure energy it contained part of the essence of every being to live including the gods it's power was unlimited much like his own.
((Um... no. I don't think any angel would attack Inquisitors. You're on the same side. If you want, the inquisitors can banish him too, but... Also, only the demon was summoned. Not you.))
Um im following the daemon and im no angel im an avatar.

Its called magic
Kain had slain many of the demons. new power sured within him. He no longer needed the greater demon killed. He had enough power now to by pass the Seer's defences.
kain faded into fog once more and left the battle ground.
Daniella watched the battle, with wide eyes and a sad heart. So much pain. She knew, before long, that she would become weak. Then Kain dissapeared.
He's leaving me. I should have expected as much.
Then, out of no where, the human man who had taken her in earlier stood beside her.
"A lady shouldn't watch this." he commented. "But I'm here to help you"
[quote="Danya"]
He's leaving me. I should have expected as much.

My purpose here is done. I shall not be your guardian. You already have those.
Kain was seeing less beauty in nature everyday, and was begining to see glimmers of death in verything. It was horrifying, and made Kain bitter. He was slowly being driven insane by it.
Daniella saw what was happening. She slipped away from the action, and caught up to Kain. She tugged gently on his cloak to get his attention.
"Kain, you are my best friend. But in truth, you scare me. That thing . . . It drives you from what you know." Daniella said, referring to the sword.
"This sword is not the source of my problems. My curse began not because of it. It would disadvantage him if he did curse me. No....there are others who do this to me."
He paused.
"You say I scare you? Good. Keep away from me. I do not want you to get hurt particulary by my actions."
Kain's voice seemed the voice of a man who is losing thier only hope. With that he began to walk away, to a place he knew about. Where he would be alone for a while.
Daniella watched Kain walk, and she knew what she had to do.
"Kain, you coward! I want you to stay away from me! I'm going to stop the demon, and if that means dying so another will live, so be it. But you, you have the greatest gift. An angel died for you! Do you need another sign?"
A tear rolled down her cheek.
"This is your mission, and mine, too. If your choice is to leave when you can be most effective, I hope I die before you return."
Daniella spun around and went to go see the men, and offer herself.
As Ceran forced back the holy warriors...... Nez'gah noticed Daniella. He aimed his long, muscled arm at her and let loose a demonic spine. The spine flew directly at her stomach.
He then turned to the issue of the holy warriors. Ne picked up two of them and threw them at least 100m away from his position. His circle of flame was still burning and it was spreading around the area.
"Kain, you coward! I want you to stay away from me! I'm going to stop the demon, and if that means dying so another will live, so be it. But you, you have the greatest gift. An angel died for you! Do you need another sign?"
Kain thought about this. The sword thought about what Kain would do....
"I am no coward. I choose to fight my own battle as I have in the past. I have fought and won against demon legions, saved my now damned people. But now you ask of me more. My existance is my own! I live for....."
Kain stopped. What did he exist for? To live? What kind of life was this? To be driven insane by your only love being ripped away from you and mocked before your eyes? He did not know the reason why he existed.
Something stirred within Kain. he saw a glimmer of beauty again. He wanted that gift back so badly. He would do anything. He remained silent, reflective. Then he burst into action roaring.
"I do this for myself! No-one else! I do this because I choose to!" He roared as he leap into the spine and salshed it with his sword. He stood where the blow would have been and then looked back at her. he turned towards the enemy and charged forwards, Brightblade glowing red in anticipation of the kill, it bestowed Kain with new vigor, he began a battle engine of destruction, whirling, killing, blasting, draining. He fought for his own reasons. To be free of this curse. This might be one way of getting out of it.
Nez'gah noticed Kain prevent the spine from reaching its target. He roared in disappointment. He then noticed the sword..... and sent this message.
Brightblade. Why do you work for this vampire. Forsake this halfblood and embrace your true brethren. Lord Arithon would be extremely grateful and it is well within his power to free you and restore to your full power. You need not stay trapped with that sword, doing the bidding of that vampire. All you need to do is defy him and come to me. I shall send you immediately to Lord Arithon who shall free you. What say you?

Ceran's sword dissipated when he commanded it to.
He then impaled one on his tail and slashed one across the cheek the lethal toxins killing him.
He then grew at large spike like object from his arm and launched it at Nez'Gah and the spine hit him in the leg.
The he grew several more and fired them at the massed horde of daemon spawn closing in on the Roanians.
As each spine hit it impaled multiple spawn flinging them back hundreds of metres but for every fallen daemon spawn two more fought to take its spot they just kept on advancing.
Then Ceran done something unthinkable he lunged at the amassed hordes of daemon spawn tearing them apart in an orgy of violence and destruction.
(OOC Wait. It will happen here if anywhere. Just wait until Kain gives his reasons etc in the other thread. I have it worked out. )
Kain saw that she was hurt and returned to her again, defending her from any agressors. This meant....oh the irony of this! Who had written this fate? Who thought it humorous that I must make the same action that Ravelyn did to me? To either let her die or let her become immortal and bear the burdans she will face?
Now is the time to choose. Die and go to the next realm, or stay here eternally!
Kain looked hard into her, the heat of the moment, his hand outstreached to her. This action could change a nation's fate.
Daniella was in a lot of pain.
Kain, don't let me go alone! Let me stay!
Nez'gah was not concerned with Ceran at the moment. Another large batch of demon spawn was due to hatch within minutes. He launched a large fireball into the mass or Roanian holy warriors.

Ceran walked over to Kain after massacring the unfortunate daemons and asked"Why do you do this?"
He then transformed into a human in dark(and spikey)armour and his sword appeared.
He felt its tug trying to fight brightblade.
"Are you certain!" Kain called again, this was the last time he would ask. He had given her the oppertunity to deny this existance. But if she said yes, he would feel no guilt about it. He had to make sure.
"Yes!" Daniella whispered.
Nez'gah observed this interaction. He fired a fireball at Kain and Ceran. What they didn't see was the demon ready to tear Daniella apart.
The Angel reappeared and formed a wall around Daniella, the Vampire, and the other being. He extracted the demon spawn from Daniella with a power never known to regular angels, and he blocked the volley of fireballs.
"Stay out of this, Demon!" He called.

Ceran felt a surge of emotions wash over him as the two spoke and he got up and took the powerful fire ball in the chest hurtling him backwards he saw the daemon ready to strike at Kain and Daniella he tore its head off as hundreds more daemon spawn closed in.
Kain did not hesitate. He looked upon her. She might change dramaticly to how I am Kain thought.
Kain tilted her head and let her neck be exposed. He whispered the spidary scrawl of magic into her ear, sedatiting the pain which was happening to her and what would come. Just like ravelyn did. Then he bit into her, granting his blessing and curse upon her, letting her change into a vampire, to trap to soul within the flesh forever.
Daniella felt a rush of ecsatcy as she felt her body stiffen in responce to this. She could not see properly, it was hazes of black and red. Daniella could feel her blood boil, and herself become more powerful, as though she was a campagne bottle shaken up and ready to explode. An intense feeling of vertigo came accross her, she was totally disorentated, all she could feel was this experiance rushing around her body, consuming her.
OOC: Thaks for posting the feelings. Never really knew how it felt.
IC:
Daniella felt the change, and reached out to what she could not see. She touched something, and it turned out to be Kain's arm.
"When will this end?" She whispered.
Suddenly a thought struk Nez'gah. (vampires don't like fire). Nez'gah slowly crawled up behind Kain and aimed his clawed hand. With a great rush of energy he unleashed a ball of demonic flame directly into Kain's back.
The new batch had hatched. They were slowly turning up around him. He sent his commands.
Attack the Avatar

He got up spread apart his arms and began firing lathally poisoned spines at the horde of daemon spawn approaching and at Nez'Gah the heavy spines impaling multiple spawn at once.
Nez'gah tried to dodge most of the spines he knew that Ceran was only playing but one hit him in the leg.
Nez'gah immediately burnt off his entire leg. Within seconds it began to regenerate and once again was complete. He could feel that he had rid himself of the poision before it had spread. He then erected his shield of flames, then sent his own volley of spines and fireballs at Ceran.

In moments the daemon spawn had almost overrun him there was just too many of them then he felt a great pain like that of daemonic fire he was blocking it from Kain and Daniella in seconds Daemon spawn were covering him as well as the fire he only had to stop the fire and the daemons from getting to Kain and Daniella long enough for their powers to regenerate all he had to do was stand for that little bit longer.
Danilla began to see clearly once more and saw the combat around them. But there was a difference. Any darkness see could not through before she could see as though they where fully light. She could see further, and her mind thought faster, with more clarity. She did feel weak and tierd right now, and a horrifying new experiance. The thirst. A nawing need to feed.
She could feel fangs prodrude from her mouth, a instant sign of vampirism. Kain had them too as did all vampires.
"Feed from me." Kain gripped her and pulled her close and let his own neck be bitten into. Kain still had the demon blood within him, it was a energetic blood, it would offer great healing and enrgy. But there was no taint within it, there was no fear of that. The Brightblade had made sure of that.
OOC: Kain should be suffering from the effects of a fireball in the back. Nez'gah did it when Ceran got swarmed by demon spawn the first time.
Daniella, horrified at first, fed, then began to feel better instantly. When she was done, she pulled away. She took a deep and shakey breath.
"Thanks."

Ceran was on his knees as the daemons swarmed over him then he had a surge of strength and threw a quarter of them off; but it still was not enough the ones he threw off just came again he wasn't killing them fast enough and to go into a rage or destroy them with magic would end up getting Kain and Daniella.
OOC: Kain should be suffering from the effects of a fireball in the back. Nez'gah did it when Ceran got swarmed by demon spawn the first time.
(OOC My apologies. I will react to that as it happened.)
Kain never knew of the fireball, he was too deep in thought about the events occouring, it needed his full consentration. But someone was lookig out for him. Two actually.
The Brightblade leaped towards the fireball abosrbing the fiery flames and disinguishing them. The greater demon trapped within the sword knew of how the magic of the demon worked and unraveled it. But the sword in this form could not repel to much magic, but he could absorb that. Cloak floated around protected Kain and Daniella from any further harm.
OOC: fair enough...... also... is the brightblade going to respond to the message Nez'gah sent it?
Danilla bite into Kain and Kain's blood flowed into her. The feeling was wonderful, the raw energy given to her was immense. The blood flowed around her body, revitalising it, sharp crackles of life snapped in her, the feeling was pleasurable. She felt as though she had been hungry forever without food until this point, she was given a feast.
Once she withdrew, kain looked at her face and smiled.
"Welcome to your new existance, Daniella Shentavo. We already have a battle to face my pupil. Here is the first lesson you must learn well. Your existance can be destroyed by a stake through the heart, no more, no less. Anything else you are immune to. But you will still feel pain from normal blows. Remember this Daniella."
Kain's voice was a whisper, but his words could be heard with a peircing clarity by Daniella. She could hear subtle tones within his voice and everything around her which she had never heard before.

Um if youre going to bed ill got to bed.
Nez'gah sent another message to the sword.
Demon.... why do you protect him? I am of your own kind. He is enslaving you whilst I promise you freedom. Join your brethren and be free.
More demon spawn flocked to the area. Most of them joined the attack on Ceran but a few were sent to attack Kain and Daniella.
(OOC What message? You mean the Attack the Avatar? Sorry I have been concnetrating on making Daniella changing into a vampire a decent experiance.)

No he tried to persuade the sword to attack you.
Daniella picked up a sword and jumped to join the angel in the battle. She was cutting, fighting, killing, with a passion she had known only in her childhood.

Ceran collapsed on the ground barely concious he fought on any daemon that got hit by his attacks were killed but they kept on coming then something happened it was as if the great god Ceran himself was watching over him he felt a renewed strength and started hacking slashing at the daemons.
When all of them were dead he launched himself at Nez'Gah fighting on he pushed Nez'Gah back and took a swing at Nez'Gah knocking Nez'Gah flat if he had been at full strength Nez'Gah would have been dead but the rage happened when he was severely weakened.
After all the attacking demons were dead and Ceran had attacked the leader. Daniella fell to her knees, exhausted.
