Well, active night we had, eh? And who would have that it was the Polynesian Free States that started the shooting :) I was wondering, was the attack by the Polynesian Sniper planned, or did Demoness just said that somebody started shooting, and let somebody take the blame IC?

If we find the empress we shall kill her.
we are runing out of dead bodies which makes it impossible for us to trade with other nations.
and an imperial dead body can fill the caves of the palace treasure very fast.

Alright people, we really cant to much more without Demoness here...all in all to be fair to her. So lets just call it quits for tonight and come back.

Sakura whirled around the corner, arm drawn back to strike. She'd scented the two long ago, and pinpointed them by hearing before reaching the turn. One stiff hand slipped beneath the first man's chin to crush his windpipe...

And stopped, just barely touching his throat, as Sakura saw he was not Demonessian. "Who are you?" she hissed.

"I'd like to ask you the same thing," Tirce said. He'd trained his weapon on Sakura, in the brief time she'd hesitated, and he stood outside her reach. Could she take him anyway? Maybe... but he was sure to get a shot off, and he was probably good enough to hit, so even if she won, she'd be in no shape to keep fighting. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the Dinosian elite, concealed from the men by the corner, tense.

Decision time.

She gave a slight shake of her head, intended for the Dinosian, disguising the motion with speech. "I'm with Jia Li."

"We're on the same side, then," Tirce said, putting up his weapon. Sakura removed her hand, and Connor breathed again. "I'm Tirce, and that's Connor."

"Sakura Kitsuki, Ravenspire special ops. And this is..." She paused as the Dinosian and her other dragon-man companion came around the corner, revealing themselves. "Come to think of it, I didn't get your names."

The soldier from Dinosia bowed shallowly. "I am Kargan, second in command of scout group three. My partner, the one who fell, is Carynn. He used to lead the group."

With that, he turned to the dragon-man.

Communication between Conner, and President Shelton

President Shelton: What is going on over there?!?! Intel on the area is going crazy!

Conner: The whole World has crashed down on us sir. Someone opened fire, and BANG out of nowhere I have counted agents from at least twenty nations. Right now where with a member of Revenspire Special Ops, two Dinosians, and a Dragon-man.

President Shelton: Where is Xel and Jia Li?

Conner: Unknown sir.

President Shelton: Well find her! I don't want anything to happen to her. Shelton out.

Conner: Aye sir. Conner out. Sakura will you and your group help us?

The Houde Emperor walks into the newly furnished office.

"Cant even tell that there was a war here three days ago." says The Houde Emperor Robert.

"Uhmmmm sir, you left your son's blood on the sidewalk." replies Taggart.

"Never you mind that, just a message, now whats going on with the Demoness empire"

Neil steps up to speak "Sir, first Jia Li left, then she didn't want to be found, yada yada yada, now there's a civil war."

"Has anyone asked us for help yet."

"Nope" says Taggart

"Good, I trust Seymore is walking around there." says Robert

"In a observing manner only sir. His camoflauge is working quite well."

"Good, once we get any type of word fell free to use him to our capabilities. That is all gentlemen."

OCC:I wont be on the rest of the day. Seymore is my genetically altered Lizardman. If anyone wants to use him fell free, he will be supporting Jia Li for her help with our recent crisis.

The men jumped out of both helicopters, and pointed 7.62mm Sub-Machineguns at them, there were 14 soldiers in all.The soldiers surrounded them, looked at them for a moment, then put down their weapons."You seem not to be with the rebellion. In that case, may we be in your aide?"One said, as the others started loading their grenade launchers.

(Pierre Madenlieg sips an as of yet unidentified beverage. Having had a spy somewhere in the air doing constant flybys, he was able to see the fight, though from that high up in the air he couldn't tell who was who. When the two figures were close to one another, they appeared to be one person. Even an ultra-zoom camera couldn't remedy this.)

Bad view, sir?
Doorman, peeking in.
I'm sure it was good entertainment for somebody.

(Suddenly, Pierre clutches at his chest, and slowly rolls out of the armchair. The Doorman repeatedly thumbs the emergency button hidden in a panel next to the door. In a few long minutes, brave medical workers rush into the room, hoping to save lives, or a life, as the case may be.)

"Obviously, I was far too late to be of any use. But I will do what I can now." Her grey eyes flashed. "We of Bad Faith do not enter fights willingly, but so thrust into one, I see no option for me to bow out. Tell me how I can aid Jia Li and her allies and I will do everything I can."

:!: In the Imperial Council Room:

The Imperial Military Advisor, the Espionage Advisor, and the Foreign Relations Advisor are all sitting on either side of a long table. The Holy Emperor sits at the front, with his wife sitting on his lap.

"The situation in Demoness is out of control," Vladimir states. "We must send militaryassistance to aid Jia Li in this civil war."

"Perhaps..." began the Foreign Advisor, "but we should not let ourselves be drawn into foreign affairs! It's just not the isolationist thing to do!"

"But this will aid the oppressed people of Demoness!" the Military Advisor proclaims. "We must aid the bringing of democracy in that backwards country!

"Bah! What about democracy in our OWN country?! The UN has just proclaimed us a 'Corrupt Dictatorship'!" shouts the Foreign Advisor, slamming his fist down hard on the table.

"Enough! I've decided. As Holy Emperor, I will officially send troops to aid Jia Li and her comrades in this war!"

The Foreign Advisor reluctantly sits back down.

"I want half of our tanks sent to aid, half of the Paladin units, and 3/4 of our regular infantry sent to aid."

"Yes, Holy One. Are you sure you want to send half of our tanks? We can't afford to lose those five tanks."

"Just shut up and mobilize the troops. And I want our infantry equipped with our best weapons."

"Yes, Holy One. Rifles."

OOC: I'll leave the rest of you to decide exactly how effective the Raevyn troops are at holding off the riots and the priests and etc. Those five tanks are pretty crappy, and the ratio of soldiers to guns is about 20:1.
But the Paladins wear real heavy armor (which is surprisingly effective against bullets), and when they don't have guns, fight with halberds and maces, and the small portion of catboy soldiers also fight using claws and biting. :)

OOC2: Remind me not to type when I'm tired. I made sooooo many typos while typing this it's not even funny. :?

Motavia- LMAO!!! If I laughed like my boyfriend, I'd be on the floor needing cardiac assistance. ^_~

The shooting was planned, but not who to blame it on. Polynesian Free States was just convienent and he decided to take the blame.

BTW, I wasn't tired. It was 4AM and my mother was about to kill me.

I enjoy what you've thrown at me, but I am quite curious as to how everyone knows about my palace!!! ::cries:: I need more security... You guys are the best!

Now, to work!

...

When I get nationstates to work.

IC:

"Miss Hikari, I assure you that you can put the crossbow down. I see that you are not aware of who I am. My name is ...Dr. Lin. I represent the Confederacy of Polynesian Free States, the Polynesian Confederacy for short. We are prepared to offer you political asylum if you so desire it; I believe we have ...a great deal of common ground. I understand that you're reluctant to accept the offer of a complete stranger.

I'll give you a choice. You can meet me at the international airport, Terminal D, in six hours, making your way through the catacombs, or you can come with me now. If I don't see you at the airport, I understand.

Good day."

He turned around and started walking away.

Hikari considered it. It was her intent to take up the sword and lead her people against the infidels of the world, but she had to face it - Demoness was gravely outnumbered. She planned to solve the problem by pitting countries against each other, and after reading Polynesian Free States' declaration the other day, she was sure she could use them to further her cause.

She hesitated at the door. Someone had shot at her head. True, it was probably aimed at Jia Li, but her head was close enough that it could have been her. Did she trust this Dr. Lin?

Then again, Demoness was erupting into chaos. Some idiot had televised the duel and the people were rioting. She had to get out of the country so she could plan her next move.

She would be at the airport.
--------
The guards eyed him suspiciously, then turned to Jia.

"Let him." She answered, "But know this. If the merest thought of treachery crosses your mind. You will die."

"I'll keep that in mind," Raelin replied as he was led under cover by the elf.

Jia Li grabbed the katana and scurried back to Xel. She had no doubt he was thinking the same thing as she. "< Mei Ling is fine, right? >"

"I hope so," Xel said, but thought, Where did she take those bolts? Why would she jump in front of me like that? As far as she knew, I was still wearing my armor.

"Why are we hiding?" someone asked.

"Don't you feel the shift in the air? There's something down here," Arilyn the elf replied. Jia Li nodded.

"< She doesn't know Demonese, does she? >"

"< Probably, >" Xel replied.

"Like what?"

"I don't know," Jia Li replied and shushed the guard. "< Why don't they show themselves? >"

*A man stands in front of the video camera somewhat dejectedly, wiping his glasses then replacing them and half-turning to a screen behind him.*

“Friends, you know me as the Foreign Ambassador of the Holy Empire of Siletzia, the photographs and video you are about to see are derived from footage taken from various news and private sources on the occasion of the duel between Empress Jia Li of Demoness and her rival Hikari.”

*Three still photographs appear on the screen.*

“Beyond the crowd you see a man entering the building. He has been identified as Dr. Chad Kwan-Moreau, a member of the recently disbanded embassy of the Polynesian Confederacy in Demoness and a suspected special operative of that state. Though the coverage of this area is sketchy in the video, no other person enters the building, and in the last photograph you see a man attempting… and failing… to open the door.”

*Video flashes upon the screen, showing the two combatants and bits of tile flying up as the bullet impacts. The crowd begins to panic, and the camera swings over to show a man holding a rapier, just before two more shots ring out, dropping him to the ground.*

“Analysis has shown that the shots must have been fired from a well-elevated position concordant with the vicinity of the roof and fire escape of that building. We suggest that this is conclusive evidence that the Polynesian Free States are responsible for the attack upon the Empress.”

*The man sighs as the camera stops running, then turns to an aide.*

“Send the tape along to the Dionosian ambassador, as well as states that were involved in the initial unpleasantness with Polynesia. Then release it to the international media. Have our operatives remove all Polynesian nationals from our borders before the tape gains international release… but do not harm them.”

OOC: Sorry about misspelling your name. Did it from memory over several pages. ^_^;

We need to keep track of where everyone is exactly. Actually, I think we need to wrap this up somehow...

Raevyn, LMAO BTW for the 5 tanks...

IC:

Raevyn's troops helped quell the riots in some of the smaller cities, but they stayed out of the larger cities, which had as many as 1 million citizens.

The tanks, they found, couldn't get into the cities because they lacked the power to knock over obstacles in their way. (Namely, the walls of buildings lining the ridiculously narrow streets.)

Sacred Rock had erupted into chaos as Xel feared. There was minimal looting, but fires ran rampant as citizens fought each other with swords and fists.

Riot control had done the bright thing and hid.

Luckily, none of the rioters reached the palace or the Cathedral. The narrow and often dangerous road up the cliffside had collapsed and people still determined to storm the structures where struck by rocks or bullets that originated from unknown sources above.

The Council had retreated into the sanctity of the Cathedral. "What the hell is going on?"

Two: (OOC I'm going to be lame and number them instead of naming for now.) "I think it's fairly obvious: Jia Li is bolder than we thought. She shot at herself."

Three: "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!"

Four: "Never mind that. What are we going to do?"

Two: "We address the people! While Jia Li is lost in this chaos, we can easily take over!"

Three: "We're in the middle of a civil war. The only thing we CAN do is prepare for battle. I'm calling our contacts in the army."

Five: "I wouldn't do that just yet. We have to find Hikari, kill Jia Li, and then claim Hikari won."

Once the military had recieved word that Solaris had been hit by unknown sources, ships were deployed to find the source.

"Launch those...scary squid things the scientists created," Commander Ivononine commanded. "Once we've disabled the ship, we'll ask them what the hell they're doing."

"Sir, won't that sink the ship?"

"Shut up."

OOC: Those "scary squid things" are biomechanical creations. They're supposed to attach onto the hull of a ship and rip and crumple it until the ship sinks. Against a sub, I'm guessing it'd be like a whale and a giant squid.

I don't remember where you said this was, but for future reference, Sacred Rock is pretty much smack dab in the middle of the country. There's a river that runs through it, but it's not navigable by large frieghters.

"And the infantry, should we send in the normal infantry units to deal with the riot, Dragon Kurosei?" asked Xeneth Blacktalon. The three of them, Sovy, Xeneth and Aido were in the room, discussing about the riots in Demoness.

"Obviouslly, due to the tediousness of the situation, we can only rely on our Strosstruppers. Send them into the major urban centres to quell the riots. Standard medic teams will accompany. If there are fires, instruct the Strosstruppers to put out the blazes in some way or form," Sovy ordered. Information flashed on the monitor infront of them, showing him now pictures of the missile attack that hit Demoness.

"As well, instruct some of the Ospreys that we are transporting the troops in to make a run over these co-ordinates. It looks like the Polynesian Free States has the intention to invade Demoness." Sovy again ordered. He really doesn't like sending troops off to foreign soils, but Polynesia decided to step in at this crucial moment to screw things up.

"What if the soldiers meet up with military factions that wish to get in our way?" asked Aido, already inputting the landing co-ordinates for the many infantry that are to land and temporarily occupy Demoness until peace is restored.

"Tell them to aid us in restoring the peace, or face baton courtesy, with a smile," grinned Sovy. Xeneth was quick to input the orders into his commpad.

"Inform the international world that the nation of Xen is sent to aid with the quelling of the riots, since an international nation has begun attacking and presumbly invading Demoness,"

Aido inputted the information in her commpad. A few seconds later, it flashed with new information as the Ospreys have begun to leave the nation of Xen to Demoness.

"Tell the military command of Demoness that if they do not have any forces within range of the attack subs, that we wish to conduct our own attack run against the subs using our torpedeos. If they do, ignore the order to attack the subs and to continue on with the mission," muttered Sovy, facing Aido. She nodded, and Sovy glared down at his monitor. All was still again in the nation of Xen.

- Aido Rakaen, External Security Minister

Yuri Katsuragi was quite upset. Once she'd heard the gunshots, she'd barred the doors to the comm room and made sure to monitor all frequencies in case they picked up an invasion. Commander Vitalia Kimanev sat down in his newly taken captains chair aboard the aichi, when he was startled my a crewmate."Sir, USU Heading for us!"He said, as the lights quickly started flashing red."Deploy Ablative armor!"he yelled, waiting for the refreshing hum of the shields."Sir, offline. We didn't expect the rebels to be able to actually harm the submarine, so we didn't rush it in...."He yelled, as the thing connected to the hull."How about a tactical nuclear device? If we launch it underwater, and detonate it, it could cause a massive force to launch it away1"He yelled, as the crewmate sook his head."We have no nuclear weapons on this ship. We were supposed to be careful not to hurt military personnel!"He yelled, as F deck, the officers quarters, began to capsize."Anti-Depth charges! We developed them to home in on objects near us, but to produce massive electrical currents to run through it to disable them....fire them at that thing, maybe it will stop it...send this to the other submarines as well!"He yelled, as the objects began to fire from the submarines, and produce massive shockwaves. Most of the aichi crew evacuated before the ship sunk, due to already being hurt, but the commander and 2 crewmen stayed on, trying to stop the evil...thingies.

"Good you should ask. We just received a message from General Yi-Songyye."

"Good. What did he say?"

"Our troops were able to quell some of the riots in the smaller cities, but in the larger cities, we were very unsuccesful. Our tanks were unable to enter the cities due to the extremely narrow streets."

OOC: Actually, I suck at RPing troops, which is why you didn't see me much in the Great Nations War. Um, so I'm going to summarize:

-Raevyn's troops get the smaller urban centers under control. I'm sure the tanks help because of the cannons.

-Akbar's troops are called in to quell the riots in Sacred Rock only. I don't remember how much of their military the Poisoned Children pledged to me, so I'll just have them concentrate.

-Xen joins Demoness' navy in engaging Chellis' subs. The squids are incapacitated, but they were able to send the coordinates of the subs.

-Most of Demoness' military is actually engaging itself between loyalists and rebels.

-Xen puts out the fires in the major cities they occupy. I'll let you call it if you can quell them or not.

I know that you weren't aiming at Sacred Rock, but I've had people assume that it's on the coast before, so I was just putting it for future reference.

"I'm one of the ancient races. I can sense things like that." Arilyn wisely left the part where she also overheard them speaking about it.

"Spirits? Like ghosts?" one of the guards asked.

"Never mind that," Jia Li said. "Do you know what they want?"

"We can ask them," Xel said and pointed to the hall in front of them where four High Priests, including Ashram, and Jia Li's mother stood.

"Holy shit."

the two submarines noticed the navy coming at them, but they werent going to take any chances...there would be no reason for them to come, if it to fight. They were spotted at a distance, so the submarines had an advantage.Luckily, they just reloaded their cruise missiles, and aimed at the naval ships, firing on the two closest ones.

OOC:If you have seen Sum of all fears, or even a commercial of it, you probably saw the part where a missile hit the aircraft carrier control deck, and there was a really cool explosion...think of them like that.

The 4 Engined Osprey-2 landed at the various co-ordinates across Demoness. Over 100 Osprey's were taking part in the operation, dropping down 3000 Strosstruppers, as well as medical supplies and personnel. Each Osprey carried 2 APC units, or 1 medical bus.

Osprey-2, Designation 0026B landed without a hitch. Beforehand, it encircled the landing position just outside of the city.

"This is Oh-2, Oh-Oh-Two-Six-Beta. Echo-Tango-Alpha Three-Zero Seconds. Landing in Progress," spoke the co-pilot, punching in digits and operating the back door to the Osprey. The Pilot manuevered the aircraft, which is now in the form of a helicopter (Osprey's turn their engines they that they are facing horizontally, or vertically).

The helicopter-airplane hybrid had barely touched ground before the back door was fully opened. Out came two APC's, each carrying 15 soldiers. 1 driver, 1 co-driver, a gunner operating a machine gun on top, as well as 12 combatants. The two APC's were zooming off to a nearby city, where they shall meet their mission objectives, and overcome them. They were the strosstruppers. Nothing less can be expected of them.

The 2 APC's merged with another 6 APC units, as well as a Medical bus.

"This is Alpha-Oh-Oh-Two-Six-Beta. Over." Spoke the co-driver. He was from the Osprey 0026B, the first one to leave the Osprey.

"Alpha-Oh-Oh-One-Niner-Charlie." crackled the speaker.
"Alpha-Oh-Oh-Six-Two-Beta." again crackled the speaker.
"Alpha-Oh-Oh-Oh-Seven-Beta." crackled the speaker. The next one to sign in would be the medical bus, logically.

"Alpha-Oh-Oh-One-Niner-Charlie, this is Alpha-Oh-Oh-Two-Six-Beta. We are assuming the lead, over."

"This is Alpha-Oh-Oh-One-Niner-Charlie, affirmative. Out."

The APC's formed a single line, and made a beeline straight for the urbanized center. It had a mixture of modern, yet ancient artitecture. One side of the city appeared much more modernized than the other side. The APC's and Medical Bus approached the frontgates.

"All, this is Alpha-Oh-Oh-Two-Six-Beta. Hold Position at the front gates, and disembark. Riot control is needed. Prepare CO2 grenades, and find a source for water to put out the fires. Designated tasks goes as follows. Alpha-Two-Six, Alpha-One-Niner, Beta-Two-Six, Beta-One-Niner, Beta-Oh-Seven are to take Riot control. Alpha-Oh-Seven are to take care of the fires we come across. Metro-Beta-Oh-Niner is to set up an infirmery and medics are to accompany troops. The Streets are too narrow for troop transports. We are to proceed 1 KM north into the city, and to secure an outpost. Out."

The APC's were already being unloaded, and the APC's formed a circle around the Medical Bus, which was unloaded medics with backpacks full of supplies. The strosstruppers, large, drakonic beings measuring of an average height of 7 feet, or over 2 metres. The troops were a clever fear tactic, especially when used against smaller beings like humans. Each of the storm troopers held a light machine gun, and were wearing a black trenchcoat with a hard helmet. To say that they looked evil is an understatement.

The troops hustled their way into the city, passing the gates. In total, there were 110 soldiers pushing their way into the city. The initial pass through a few houses and the main gates were not a problem. Screams and yelling was heard further down the streets. Fires were flickering in the distance, and the occasional gunshot was heard, although was never followed up by anything other then the screaming of thousands of people. Seemed like somebody was trying to get attention.

Within 5 minutes of entering the city, the first signs of riots were seen. Two dozen people were found in what looked like to be park, but it is in such disarray and ruin that it was no unnoticable. The the group of people barricaded themselves in a semi-circle of wagons and other mobile, but ancient, carts.

Across from the barricade was a scorched, and still partially burning house. Movement was seen within the house, and the cause for the barricade was still unknown. Until 20 flaming arrows pierced out, and hit the barricade. Luckily, nobody was hit by the arrow, but the flames on the arrows quickly took hold of the barricade.

"This is the Xen Strosstrupper Force. Sieze your fighting, and come out peacefully. We are here to bring an end to the rioting."

Sadly, things did not go as well as planned.

Several arrows from the house lashed out, two of which struck the troops. The arrows had lost most of their kinetic energy in flight though, and barely put a dent into the hard scales of the Drakons.

The people that were hiding behind the barricade were attempting to put out the blaze, but the occasional arrow that shot out from the house put the rioters back in their place behind the barricade.

"Nilch, get a group and head over to the barricade and assist putting the fire out. If they resist, give them baton courtesy." Spoke the black 7 foot 3 Drakon. A maroon Drakon, nodded his scaly head, and picked out a random allottment of troops, totalling 8 in all. They rushed over to the barricade.

"Kursk, get two squads and storm the house. Do not kill the rioters unless your endangered." spoke the large black one, to another, fractionally shorter brethren.

"Yes, Commander Jets"

The shorter one, Kursk, then nodded. He picked out the two squads, totalling 11 people including Kursk, and made a breakaway to the house.

The radio by Jets side crackled. Nilch was at the other end, and in his stereotypical serpent voice spoke.

"We have not encountered any resistence. They know we are here for the purpose of defending the city. The soldiers inside the house are from the Church's Guard, and have tried to sieze control of this district. Out."

Jets murmered, seeing the two squads lean up against the door, now out of the line of sight of the archers. Within seconds, one threw in a CO2 grenade, blasting the barricade that blocked the door. The Drakons rushed into the establishment, and disappeared into the smoke.

A minute passed, and yelling was heard in the house. Another tense minute passed, Commander Jets listening for the gunshots that he expected. Instead, what he got was a crackle over his radio.

"This is Kursk. Establishment secured. The weapons we have found composed only of bows, arrows, empty magezine cartridges and a few rifles. Shall we set up base here? Over."

"Jets speaking. Affirmative, set up base. Put out any fires. Inform the MedBus about our position and location, and status. It appears the people you captured are composed of the Church's Guard, so keep an eye on them.

So far, so good.

--------------------------

"Dragon Kurosei, we have established a foothold in all of the cities. Our casualties number only 8 thus far. Fires are being put out, and rioting between factions is being taken care of, although heavy handedly."

Sovy nodded. So far, so good...

General Yi-Songyye and his troops, consisting of seven tanks and thousands of soldiers, arrive outside the capital, still recovering from many losses they suffered.

"Men! Vee must march into ze ceetee and crush ze infidelz!" Speaks the General, with an accent from who-knows-where.

The Crusaders and Paladins rush into the streets, attacking, but trying not to kill, any rioting civilian who attacked them.
They were covered by gunfire from the infantrymen, who were hiding behind rubble and whatever they could find, and the few shots from the rusty old tanks took out quite a good number of priests and rioters.

More of the troops began rushing into the narrow streets, picking up the rifles of their fallen comrades and beating down the rioters.

The tanks, sitting outside the city, became overrun by disgruntled citizens and were forced to crush most of the attackers under their treads.

The soldiers managed to secure a small part of the city, placing barricades in an attempt to hold off rioters.
Some of the wounded soldiers, including General Yi-Songyye, rested in several empty houses, though the injured were too many to all be quartered in the homes.

It was bad enough that riots had broken out among the people and most of them weren't taking her side, but now infidels had penetrated the city and were trying to quell the riots. Did they really think that it would make the situation any better?

She heard footsteps behind her and without looking, she fired at them. She was rewarded with the sound of a body hitting the ground. She turned and saw that it was one of the priests, a younger one. Hikari shrugged; he shouldn't have tried to sneak up on her.

"Damn boy probably would have sided with that bitch Jia Li," she muttered and stalked on.

An explosion knocked Yuri Katsuragi to the floor as the door burst inward. Her crossbow flew from her hands.

Megumi stepped through the clearing smoke wielding a gun she had gotten from one of the fallen. She lowered it once she realized who the girl was. "Why didn't you open the door?" she demanded.

Yuri sat up. "Huh?"

"I was knocking Morse code for 'Open up.'"

"I don't know Morse code."

"Oh, you're not one of the handmaids?" Megumi pointed the gun at Yuri again, sniffed, and then lowered it again. "You're that girl Jia Li sent to the Communist Convention, aren't you?"

"Yeah."

"What are you doing here?"

"Jia Li told me to monitor the comm channels."

"And?"

Yuri gave her a summary of the last few hours and Megumi reciprocated by telling her what had happened since the first gunshot was fired.

"We need to find the others," Megumi said. "Mei Ling, Sakura, and Tarrell. If they aren't with Jia Li, they'll know where to find her."

Yuri nodded and cut the power to the comms. She disabled them to make sure that only she would be able to get them functional again.

Megumi handed her a gun and they left.

The Ospreys were flying low over the trees, on their way to Sacred Rock. Their orders were simple. Drop the Troops, and take back to flight back to Xen to pick up more troops. And, of course, plans never survive first contact.

"Oh-Two-Oh-Oh-Niner-Two, approaching the City. Echo-Tango 3 Minutes. Prepare for a rough landing, boys," said a voice over the speaker in the cargo bay of the Osprey. The drakonic strosstruppers could hear the white-static filled voice in their own APC though, through the radio speaker located in the APC's.

It was a long trip across the seas to Sacred Rock, but finally they will arrive and begun the process of squelching the dissenters.

"Romeo-Metro!" screamed out over the static background in the helmet of one of the Osprey's. Romeo-Metro, which was RM, which further translated to Remote Missile, ment that an incoming missile was targetted against the Osprey's.

A streak of smoke came from the ground. From where exactly could not be traced, but the pilots in the Osprey's had to act quickly, or be destroyed.

There was not much time for the lead Osprey to react. The missile was aiming at it, and would impact within the span of 2 to 3 seconds.

"Chafes!" roared out the Drakon, in his native tongue, pressing a button that launched small rockets that act like flares. The Enemy Missile went through the smoke, and barely missed the lead Osprey by less than a metre as it screened by.

But the Osprey behind the Lead Aircraft was not so lucky. The bogey hit the Osprey, Designation 0091. The missile collided into the front right rotor engine, rendering it with an explosion that spat out shrapnel in all directions. If an Osprey lost one of its engines, it usually can regain itself and continue on forth, although at a slower pace. Much like how a B-17 can lose an engine and continue on.

But the damaged Osprey tilted its nose to the ground with the sudden loss of lift to the front half of the crash, and careened into the ground at a velocity of 300 KM/H. The Osprey skittered across the ground, ripping itself in half and rolling. It stopped, leaving the front half of the aircraft in shambles and on fire, while the aft end of it was mutilated.

"Oh-Two-Oh-Oh-Niner-One-Beta down! Send evac team to six KM's South three-four degrees West of Marker oh-seven." ordered the lead aircraft. The formation adjusted for the lost aircraft, and within a minute, the aircraft were on the outskirts of the city, landing in an open field.

The APC's rolled out, and the Ospreys left as soon as they could, taking a different route now to avoid whatever launched the missile attack.

"Alpha-Oh-Oh-Niner-Two-Beta, assuming lead, over."

"Affirmative, Alpha-Oh-Oh-Niner-Two-Beta. This is Oh-Two-Oh-Oh-One-Six-Beta. Out."

The last strand of communications with out the outside world is cut. Nothing can reach the Xen Military HQ now.

The APC's and the MedBus begun to enter the city, now short 2 of their comrades. Another team of will be landing to the north of the city, and enter it through there.

The city was in chaos. Houses were burning, and rioters were fighting back in a stage of civil war with the Church and Jia Li pitted against each other. The drakonic strosstruppers could only do what their natural instinct told them to do. To fight and survive.

The APC's barely squeezed into the streets, but the MedBus was far too big to go through the city at a decent pace. It was left behind with an APC full of troops, as the remaining 19 APC's entered the city.

The APC's squeezed their way into an open park. It was mostly quiet, until a band of rioters came out from the streets, yielding basic hand guns that they must of robbed from the armories, somehow. Some even carried crossbows, swords, maces and other medieval weapons.

"Halt! Sieze your action or you will jeapordize your life!" roared over the comm system, from the lead APC.

The dissenters didn't listen, all were chanting out to rid the city of the infidels. At first, it was just a normal riot, with people throwing rocks, and the occassional gunshot being fired at the APC, but with no target in check.

Until several young men, obviouslly soldiers of some kind, appears in a nearby house and fired an Anti-Tank missile.

3 Missiles were fired, one of which malfunctioned or was poorly aimed as it careened into the ground. The one smashed into an APC's broadside, ripping a large chunk out of it, although the armor still held. Barely.

The other AT-missle smashed into the building behind the intended target, ripping the wall up. Within seconds, the groaning was heard as the building collapsed onto its own weight.

Machine gun fire rang out, towards the house that launched the missiles at the APC's. Many of the shots tore up the wall, the wailing rounds puncturing through the wall and tearing up the innards of the house.

More rioters came another street, from behind the APC's. They were chanting the same 'Destroy the Infidels', both in a mix of normal and Demonesse speech.

It wasn't looking pretty for the Xen APC detachment in Sacred Rock.

A flood of Rogers spilled through the radio.

In minutes, black helicopters were taking off from their hidden locations and meeting up at the meeting point.

The Gunships sped off to provide cover for the Xen units and the arriving Darkskye Red Ops.

Outside, the Crusaders and paladins had their work cut out for them. Fortunately, the citizens had primitive weapons much like they did. Whenever they knocked out a rioter, they would take his weapon and hand it to the nearest weaponless soldier.

They were able to secure a slightly larger portion of the city, since most of the other rioters were busy with more formidable foes.
They looted supplies and weapons from empty houses, and quartered their wounded there.

Some of the rioters managed to hijack one of the tanks and shot at some of the troops, hitting a nearby building's foundation and causing it to collapse, killing a group of soldiers nearby.
The tank was destroyed, limiting the firepower of Raevyn's troops even more.

The gunfire was firing almost non-stop into various houses. Two APC's were already rendered useless, the troops within escaping and hiding behind the APC, exchanging gunfire with the more heavily armed soldiers and civilians.

A floating gunship zoomed above the patrol, shooting into the barricraded crowd of people. Meek shots fired back at the gunship, but either it did not penetrate the armor, or missed completely.

"This is Alpha-Oh-Oh-Niner-Two-Beta. Prepare to move out. Church soldiers are zooming in on us." rang out over all the intercoms of the APC's.

With a jerk, the APC started to move forward, now several gunships strafing into the crowd of people. Soldiers entered into the streets, unequipped for the approaching convoy of APC's. Most of the soldiers got out of the way of the train of APC's, but the gunner in the lead APC gunned some of the soldiers with the use of the heavy Machine gun linked onto the APC.

The APC's were moving deeper into the city, with soldiers giving chase after them. With a minute of this chase, the APC's emerged into an open mark. The units made a B-line for a wall of buildings that appear empty, and stopped infront of them.

The soldiers that were APC-less entered the building, which was poorly boarded up. Nobody was within.

The new expeditionary internal-city Sacred Rock outpost has been founded.

The dark figure of the Vice-Regent upon the vast sofa is bathed in the light of the Wall Screen as he watches the rampant chaos with a tiny smirk that belies a deeper maniacal glee... (war, war... what iiiis it goooood for? EN-ter-TAIN-ment VAL-ue say it again now...)

The Regent watches from a nearby recliner and quietly quotes a passage...
"Thusly was the Law formulated... imposition of Order equals escalation of Disorder."

"Pluto, if it bothers you so much why don't you go over there and eat the troublemakers or something?"

"Because I'm trying to stay incognito, you twit."

"Ah-HAH! I _knew_ it. The rumors are true!"

"I don't know what you could mean, Haywood."

"Doesn't matter if you deny it now, I always record all my conversations for posterity just in case. I've got your inadvertant confession right here. Just wait until I show this to Boox... he'll have an aneurism or something."

"A recording? Really? Maybe you should try playing it back..."

"What?" He takes out a recording device and plays back from a few moments ago. The tape plays until just after the Regent speaks the quote and then fades into static after the Vice-Regent's question. He slowly looks up with a mixture of seething anger and newfound respect for his Regent.
"You bastard. You sly, radioactive, alien bastard."

"I'm just the landlord Haywood. You know that." 8)

Deep beneath the confines of Sub Geo Dome 5, President Mark Schwartzkoff sighed as he viewed the main monitor. It was dark in the control room, resembling a blacked out NASA command post. LEDs flashed about in each of the monitors as army techies worked on them.

"Mr. President," a gruff voice called out from behind. It was General Allan Ritkin, the Department of Defense Chief. "We need authorization from you before we can do anything."

Schwartzkoff, still in a trance, did not hear him. His eyes remained fixed upon watching the spy satellite broadcasting the battle at Demonness.

"Sir?"

He awoke.

"General...what do you suggest?"

"We use Shriek Type Threes to drop in our guys and support Xen. Then an armored column would travel to the city to provide a route of escape in case anything goes wrong. "

"Are you planning to load them up with non-lethal ammunition?"

Ritkin pursed his lips, breathed deeply, and muttered, "No, Mr. President."

The President rubbed his temples roughly. "Make it happen."

General Ritkin nodded. The light tapping of his shoes echoed through the silent chamber. After having spent years in isolationism, the Free Repubilc of Mark the Great would partake in its first military operation...

15 Shriek Type Three choppers approached Demoness under the cover of night, accompanying a convoy of APCs and Humvees "borrowed" from a nearby UN base.

"King-five-niner approaching insertion point. Spread formation into pattern delta sixty-two."

The Shrieks broke from their line formation into a V as they began their descent toward the city.

"King-Five-Nine, this is King-sixty-four. So far we've met no resistance in the air. Are we in the right loc--" Before the pilot had finished his report, a shoulder fired stinger penetrated the tail rotor, sending its crew to a violent downward spiral to the city streets below. As the pilot tried desperately to maneuver it safely to an open courtyard, its tail collided with a building. The chopper broke in half before exploding, sending a shower of flames in every direction.

"G0da^^mit! Everyone break formation and get your @$$3$ to Xen forces ASAP!" The remaining choppers spared no time in following orders as they scattered in the night sky and began their search for the Xen ground units.

The convoy, meanwhile, met a more manageable resistance who pelted them with only small arms fire, which seemed to only bounce off armor plating. About 100 meters from a dilapidated building, scanners began to pick up a mass of soldiers inside it carrying Xen weaponry.

"King-Five-Niner, Xen force found. They're on Grid Five-Two. Grid Five-Two."

"Roger that convoy. All airbornes report to Grid Five-Two and begin insertion upon a signal from the convoy."

Replies of acknowledgement filled the soldiers' headsets.

The radioman, having completed his first objective, moved on to his next. He turned a dial to set the frequency to Xen's and handed over the headest to his superior.

"All Xen forces, this is General Hawthorne. We have been sent by the Free Republic of Mark the Great to assist you with quelling the riots. Respond immediately."

The soldiers began setting up defensive positions...either to protect themselves from rioting civilians...or an unfriendly Xen platoon...

(OOC: Whoa...is it just me or did your forces get in country extremely...XTREMLY fast...)

As Xen took cover small, fast gunships flew overhead and began straffing runs on the opposing rioters and shooters *OOC: I almost envision Somalia...Black Hawk Down...ya know*.

Griffon One Four (OOC: Griffon is the small attack gunships, armed with rockets and miniguns) dove down and straffed a crowd, making them dive for cover. He pulled up and out fast, dodging small arms fire from the crowd below.

The transport helicopters were now in sight of the newly establish Xen defense. They were comming in low and comming in fast. Minigunners on both sides of the lead helicopter, Archangel, were shooting in all directions, attempting to pin anybody who seemed a threat down.

First to come in were smaller helicopters, Star Flight as they were known. They used the same helicopters as Griffon, but on both sides where the rockets would be were compartment for people to sit and hang onto the helicopter. It seated four Red Cell members.

Several of the Star helicopters landed at the Xen position, taking fire from the street. The Darkskye Red Ops jumped off and in under a second the helicopters were airborne again.

Griffion Flight made another pass over the area, straffing and pinning the armed baddies down. Then came the loud roter sounds of the main Darkskye Red Ops force.

Meanwhile on the ground the Red Cell members found themselves engulfed in a battle immediatly. They retaliated fire with the hostiles and moved towards Xen's position.

The commander, who was on the first helicopter in, walked standing straight up and very calm *As if there was no war going on* to a huddled Xen soldier. "Where's your commanding officer?!?! He needs to know Darkskye's best are here!" he shouted, a bullet pinging off the wall near them. He didnt even flinch.

The transports hovered over the dropzone and Red Ops men and women started fast roping down the side into the battle. They reinforced the Xen lines on both sides, firing on hostiles.

A rocket just missed one of the transports, wooshing by it. The minigunner caught sight of the shooter and tore him to peices with his gun.

When the last operator was off the ropes, they cut the ropes loose and sped out of the city.

Griffon Flight was still over, making High Speed Straffing runs to assist the ground team.

(OOC: I dont think we should go back to the catecombs untill Demoness gets back...its not fair to her. Meanwhile, we got a NASTY civil war going on upstairs...thats fun...)
30-12-2002, 09:15
(OOC to Darkskye: Eh....I've been watching this post lately. Forces were already on standby in the vicinity.)

As the firefight continued, the Shrieks hovered behind the convoy. Within seconds, special ops soldiers were rapelling down, while the convoy provided cover. All had their M52 Rapid-Fire Pulse which were fitted to fire 9.5 mm NATO rounds. Their superior weaponry shredded through human flesh, easily cutting down the large mobb approaching from the south. Their only drawback was a limited ammo count of 25 rounds, with an option to either fire single or three shot bursts. With the firefight lasting into the night, every soldier had his NVG on. The green lights emitted by the two lenses made it seem as if a thousand fireflies danced in the city streets.

With the ground units deployed, the Shrieks backed off from the fight--they would hover high above the city as mechanized vultures...

"Sir look!" A sergeant turned to an Lt. as he squeezed off a few rounds at some civs.

Lt. Barnes spotted the Darkskye helos near the Xen outpost. He wondered if they were there to assist as well. "Pop a flare at em."

"And...reveal our position?"

"Do it. I want a radioman to be ready to call in air support if they fire at us."

There was good news and bad news on the catacomb front.

The good news was that the priests and their forces had scattered throughout the corridors in search of Jia Li, leaving them unable to mass a force large enough to resist the lightning-quick strikes of the empress's allies.

The bad news was that there were still a lot of them, and that said group of allies, having only a slightly better idea of Jia Li's whereabouts than the priests had, were encountering them fairly frequently as they continued their search.

They'd fallen into a routine of sorts. Tirce and Connor, armed with pistols, dealt with the priests, as well as those snipers who'd placed themselves in positions that made it difficult to subdue them. Connor covered them from the front, Tirce from behind. Sakura and the Dinosian elite led, disarming and disabling the common guards the group encountered. Iulius stayed at the center of the group, tending to Terrell as best he could... which was not very well, as he unhappily declared. "Moving like this really isn't very good for him, you realize. It may even exacerbate the wounds. This man should be in a healer's care, not being dragged through a dungeon."

"I don't see any doctors down here," Tirce noted sardonically.

Sakura nodded. "We can't stop now."

"Perhaps just a brief rest?" asked Iulius. "Half an hour should be sufficient to tend to him properly. You could stand to get that arm looked at, too."

"No," the foxgirl sighed. "I mean, we can't afford to stop now. In half an hour, anything could happen. We need to find Jia Li as soon as possible. Besides, I didn't crisscross three continents trailing her to give up because of a little cut."

Connor and Tirce exchanged glances. Connor opened his mouth to say something, but before he began, the Dinosian held up a hand. "Listen," he whispered.

Sakura nodded. "Two." Connor edged sideways for a better shot, until Sakura added, "It's okay. They're Jia Li's."

"Good. It seems like she can use all the help she can get," Tirce said.

"Ah. Found you at last." One of the two newcomers, a foxwoman like Sakura, spoke.

"Megumi. Who's your friend?"

"Yuri. She was monitoring communications, and..." Megumi quickly sketched out the details of the events outside. Yuri occasionally chimed in to clarify a point or offer additional information. Introductions followed.

"Widespread riots," Iulius mused.

Connor nodded. "It looks like the worst's come to pass."

"That's why we need to find the empress," Megumi said. "Can you take us there?"

Sakura nodded. "We're on our way there, anyway. We don't know exactly where she is, but we know she's close. And in that direction." She pointed down a corridor that looked exactly the same as the others in the area. "If we don't have to deal with too many more soldiers, we should find them soon."

"I don't think the soldiers are the only ones down here," Megumi said darkly. "Maybe some of those from outside have decided to enter the castle, too, or maybe it's something else, but I've got an eerie feeling..."

"All the more reason to hurry, then." Sakura suggested, as the group set off down the hallway.

(OOC: Apologies if anyone is radically out of character. ^_^;)

The Strosstruppers took cover in the building. 17 APC's remained from the original 22 that lifted off from Xen. Actually, only 14 were probably operable still, as many of them were hit with AT-Missiles. Even then, thats a pretty liberal number.

Perhaps the most brutal moments of this civil war was when the Drakon Expeditionary Force held up in a street of unabandoned stone buildings. Many buildings across from the defenders were either heavily damaged, partially collapsed, or in one case where two AT missiles came out of, collapsed fully.

But shortly after the arrival of the Red Cell team, the battle died away. Within 20 minutes, all was quiet again. For the moment, the Strosstruppers and the Red Ops members were safe. Adjecant buildings are slowly being inspected for hostile forces, and a buffer zone was set up between the Darkskye and Xen forces, against the hostile civilians and Church troopers.

Obviouslly, against a city of 1.5 Million people, this was going to be a tough battle for the meager 210 Drakon soldiers left.

"And our ammunition supply?" asked the Commanding Officer, while sitting at a wooden desk, on a wooden chair that probably belonged to some carpenter.

"It will do for now. I estimate at this rate that our cache of munitions will last us for at least 24 more hours. More than enough time for the reinforcements to get into the city."

The CO nodded, and dismissed the Seargent.

A rough map of the immediate area was drawn onto a peice of paper, rather skillfully by the same Seargent that he was speaking to. The CO grinned. If those church loyalists are coming back, they are gonna meet alot of hot lead from alot of different points.

But was needed was more friendlies. They 210 strosstruppers here now won't be able to hold out for more than another day if even another fury of attacks come. Not to mention that the CO wondered where all the munitions for the civilians came from.

"Damn it all to Hell." muttered the beastily dragonoid, in his native tongue of Drakonian. His radio crackled briefly, but no sound came from it.

"We can't possibly hold this block with just 200 men for more than a day. Not with those anti-tank weilding missiles the civilians have," thought the CO. Now was the time that the CO wished the radio would spark to life with a message from Xen Military Command informing him of the approaching re-inforcements. But nothing came from the radio.

"Commander Ara," a voice sprung from the corner, where a human stood. He was dressed in a Red Cell uniform. The Drakon stood up, in a way to welcome the human.

"The only human friendly I have seen all day. Welcome to the encampment. Kool-Aid is in the fridge," the large Grey coloured Drakon spoke, pointing over to what looked like a fridge. Whatever kept the inside cool was long gone.

"Come, have a seat. We most likely have alot to talk about," said Commander Ara, thrusting out his claw open handed to the chair across from him. Ara sat back down, leaning a bit back in his chair. His dark grey trenchcoat was still wrapped around him, but his hardhat was put on the table.

----------------------------------------------------

"The situation in Sacred Rock is worsening. According to reports, the number of strosstruppers has hit 200, and are locked in the city," said Aido. It was the three of them again, Sovy, Xeneth and Aido, around a round black wooden meeting table, in a rather dark tacky room.

"And the reinforcements, when will they be ready to storm the north end of the city?" asked Sovy.

"In about 18 hours we can drop about... 2600 troops in the south end. It appears that the town is divided, and in quite a convenient way. The northern end of the city has fewer church loyalists, while the southern end, where our troops currently are, has many more church loyalists. It will take a while to navigate the streets with so many units. We are still plotting out the city as we speak," explained Xeneth. He didn't like explaining things. His job was to blow things up, not talk about how he is going to blow it up.

"Currently, 270 troops are entering the north end of the city now. They are getting a stream of casualities, as well as dealing with any fires and resistences. The south end is suffering from some fires as well, but not as noticeable. For now, the riots are controlled in the other cities, but if Jia Li doesn't take the throne soon... Well, there may be more riots that will break out." Aido now said. She was fairly strict in what she said, but compassionate about the situation in her heart.

"Very well. All we can do is pray that Jia Li retakes the throne soon. It will better stabilize the region, so we can help rebuild the nation after the civil war." finished the Dragon Kurosei, who stood up, and dismissed his ministers.

- Sovy Kurosei, Emperor of Xen
- Aido Rakaen, External Security Minister
- Xeneth Blacktalon, Military Minister
- CO Ara, CO of the Drakon Expeditionary Force in Sacred Rock

12:55: Mark The Great units move into position, Xen units are meeting HEAVY resistance

1:15pm: Darkskye Griffon Flight begins straffing runs to help Xen units out. Mark The Great's units hit Sacred Rock streets.

1:20 pm: Star Flight dropps Red Cell commander and first wave of troops, secures location and retaliation fire.

1:30pm: The main Red Cell force fast ropes in

2:15pm: Main battle ends, sniper fire still, but nothing really heavy like previous 20 min. Darkskye Red Cell commander meets with Xen leader. Mark the Great units "Pop Smoke" towards the Darkskye ground units.

OOC: you'd be surprised at how many things can go wrong in an hour. Trust me, I know...

Darkskye... I know, I kow... I'm REAL late... but I at least made an appearance...

If I could know what all is going on in Sacred Rock, Dinosian Troops are going to be arriving shortly.

Also, I may be declaring war on the Polynesian Free States(I believe that was the one who started it), and expect an appearance from the Daedin soon. Feel lucky, he isn't one of those people that anyone sees very often. In fact, the only person who has ever seeen him more then three times is Tarrell...
30-12-2002, 13:35
Lets see whats going on:

Xen moved in after the shooting at the duel. His Transports came under HEAVY fire (Which is strange and adds mystry because local Demoness people DO NOT know guns or have them...so they are all from an outside source). His APCs moved down a street. Several of them were taken out I believe.

Mark The Great apparently is joining the frey also, landing units in the city near Xels position.

Darkskye as you know had Red Cell Operatives stationed near the capital as per Mei Ling's orders. One of the flights saw Xel's forces in trouble and told the Red Cell flights. The Red Cell Flight took off, the gunships straffing people shooting at Xel forces. Make a long story short, Red Cell and Xel forces held the position and now are holding, watching for snipers.

Timeframe is in the post above =)

I think its shleepy time for me though!

Okay then... since I couldn't be here... lets make these assumptions...

1. Dinosian troops have moved into the country and are established in several of the quiet areas, maintaining peace. Two detachments of troops have broken from the main force. One detachment, a force of 500 troops, is moving to the main city of Demoness. Those troops are currently outside the city and prepared to move in. They look to link up with Loyalist forces and provide a relief. They also plan on insuring a safe supply chain to the outside, in case the city is taken. They will look to quickly link up with either Xel's forces, those of Mark the Great, or any of the Red Cell forces.

The second detachment has entered Sacred Rock. This force numbers approximately 500 troops, and the commanders of the group are under orders to link with the Xen forces. They are completely under his command, and he is free to do whatever he needs with them. They are mostly equipped with melee type weapons, swords and such, but a small force of them are equipped with silenced sub-machine guns(approx 75 of them). All Dinosian troops are experts in stealth techniques. They excell at moving quickly and quietly into new areas.

The rest of my forces in country number approximately 1000, spread among many of the smaller cities and towns. These forces can be moved to either of the two cities as necessary, but will not do so unless absolutely necessary.

The main body of my forces, approximately 260,000 troops, are currently mobilizing for war against the country who sent the shooters, with or without Demoness or ISAF approval, due to personal reasons.
30-12-2002, 14:02
I know your summarising but I’m still lost. Who are you fighting and why are you fighting them?

originally, the empress had taken off from Demoness, for peronal reasons. Several countries entered into the search for her, ending with Dinosia, Ravenspire, and Darkskye finding her. The three countries have vowed to support Jia Li, but her enemies have allies also. It turns out that Jia had a twin sister, Hikari, and she wanted to take over instead. Shots were fired during a duel to determine who would rule, and the country was immediatly plunged into Civil War. Several nations are now involved, the three above, and several others: Xen, Mark the Grate, and Challis.

Currently, we're just trying to re-establish peace, but as soon as it is discovered who fired those fateful shots, Dinosia will attack, regardless of whatever support is given to them.

That answer your questions?
30-12-2002, 14:07
Yes, but it does explain the orange.

Sounds like fun. Any change of me getting involved on a small scale, or do you want to do this as the teams currently stand?
30-12-2002, 14:18
Yes, but it does explain the orange.

Sounds like fun. Any change of me getting involved on a small scale, or do you want to do this as the teams currently stand?

Personnally, I don't care... I don't think Demoness would either... If you choose to support Jia Li, as the majority are, you'd need to coordinate with Demoness, Darkskye, Xen, Mark The Great, and myself as to where your personnel are, and how many/what type are there.

If, however, you choose to be an adversary, you need to discuss with the Polynesian Free States(I believe, a couple of pages back blame was accepted somewhere).

But by all means, feel free to join. We just ask that you stay in the nature of the RP situation. We've had other people try to jump in with stupid things before, but they were just ignored...

Ok. I can send 2000standard troop and of course airplanes.

Ok. I can send 2000standard troop and of course airplanes.

Just tell me where to put them.

Do you know what we are against? Is it a small unorganised force or is it a large organised force that heavily armed.

In order to keep things tense in the two major cities, keep most of your troops in the country-side, for "peacekeeping" much like I did... use 1000 troops to keep the peace in the southern part of the nation, I'll keep my troops in the North. These areas are already mostly peaceful. The rebellions there were quickly stopped, and peace is being maintained. your other 1000 troops should be split... 500 to Sacred Rock and 500 to the capitol...

Xen's forces only number 200 in Sacred Rock, and they're getting torn up pretty badly. I also have about 500 troops headed to the city, so together we should be able to relieve his forces and take the city back.

I'm not sure exactly about the situation in the Capitol. I imagine it as being much the same, troops fighting in the streets, the two sides duking it out block to block. Your troops there would be doing the same thing, trying to link up with the Demoness Loyalist forces, and establish peace there as well. Also, I have 500 troops outside the city, prepared to enter, but they are waaiting word from Jia Li. If you want your guys at the southern edge of the city, mine can be in the North. That way we can move in and "meet in the middle," providing maximum pressure to two sides of the enemy forces.

As for the disposition of enemy forces... At first, it appeared that it was an unorganized series of riots, but after the Xen forces started encountering resistance, it appears more and more organized. There is an actual enemy here, and they are working for civil war, and probably wish to take over.

I do believe that it was the Polynesian Free States that were organizing all this opposition, but I'm not exactly sure...

I want 500 troops sent to the south from peacekeeping, these should be our youngest and least experienced troops.

Send 500 to sacred rock

Seymore sniffed the air with his snout. He cant believe he lost the scent of her. 'Man', he thought, 'I wish I was a good spy. Oh well.' He continued to wander and heard a sound. Camoflaguing against the wall, a group of proests came down the corridor.

"we...........................Kill..................Jia-li." Was all that Seymore could hear. Swiftly he ripped out the throat of the first one, Drove his hand throught he chest of the third one, crushing the priest's still beating heart in the process. He slammed the second one into the wall. "Tell me how to get out."

"Never you demon spawn."

"I'm not demon spawn, I'm from a Houdian Lab. Now tell me how to get out."

"Never....ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH." The human faints as Seymore rips off his arm. Seymore throws the body on the floor and walks off. "Humans, way too fragile. Now which way out if here......................."

OOC: Okay, that helps a little. Is it bad when I'm confused?

One problem with Darkskye's timeline: the duel was at dawn.

Much of Demoness' military is engaging itself and Chellis (by mistaken identity) off the coast. There are catmen soldiers, but they're loyal to Jia Li.

Akbar is a military vassal to Demoness and was sent in to deal with Sacred Rock. Who knows what happened to them. They might be the ones you're engaging.

(Who are you engaging anyway?)

The remaining military are unsure in the confusion who are the enemy so they're just generally attacking. The civilians have just gone crazy. The smarter ones are in hiding (as seen yesterday :P ), but most are either trying to leave or have taken to rioting.

After this post, I'm continuing in the catacombs. Just a head's up.

Meanwhile back in the underground.

The Red Cell Operator looked around out of the opening into the room. He could make out figures standing, guards...one of them was in front, and a women in the front...speaking to...ghosts?!

"What in the..." he thought to himself, as he gripped his SMG.

He would wait just a few more moments before making his presence known.

Then he saw the Empress disappear right before his eyes.

Xel, unsure of what to do, fired the gun at the ghosts, but it predictably went through it. "Jia Li!" He ran toward the spot where she had been standing.

Arilyn started chanted something in Elven as she stood. It was a spell of some sort, and she sighed when it failed.

Xel spun around and faced the group. "What the hell just happened?" he demanded. Stuff like that's not supposed to happen!"

Then he saw the flashing green eyes (OOC: Is that right?) by the wall and pointed the Darkskye pistol at them. Immediately, the others turned as well. "Come out here into the open," he demanded.

Jia Li kneeled before the throne. In it sat a woman not unlike herself, but far prettier in her opinion. The woman's features were sharper and the cheekbones higher and there was a slight luminescence to her skin. Her ears were long and pinched at the ends, but they were not at all like an elf's.

"Thou art a strong woman, Demoness," the woman said. "When thou and thy sister were born, We were unsure which of thee shalt be Empress. Both would become strong women, so We allowed the priests to choose Our successor."

"Excuse me, my lady," Jia Li interrupted. "We?"

"Daemonesu," the woman replied.

Jia Li was shocked. "Mother." She bowed again.

"Daughter. Mother now only liveth in Our people."

Jia Li should've known; the woman was wearing purple, deemed to be Daughter's favorite color.

"Come, let us walk. There is much thou needs to knowest before We send thee back to what needest to be done."

Daughter rose and took Jia Li by the hand.

"Yes sir."

As the majority of the troops began marching back towards the coastline to the transports, a large group of rioters broke through the barricades and managed to kill several hundred infantrymen.

The rioters charged into the quarters of the wounded troop, killing off many of the wounded troops before being warded off. General Yi-Songyye was killed in the process.

Demoralized and outnumbered, the remaining troops abandoned their hold on the city and left to rejoin the troops who were going back to Raevyn.

"Sir, it's been hours and we haven't gotten word from the Xen troops yet..." The radioman looked wearily at Lt. Barnes. They had been at it all night, firing at rioters here and there, and casualties were beginning to rack up.

"Tell Charlie Company to move in behind the Sacred Rock and make our presence known. If they're shot at, they don't fire a single round."

"With all due respect, that's fuggin lunacy!"

"You're job's to follow orders. I'll assume responsibility for any mishaps. Go!"

The frustrated comms operator gave a scowl at Barnes before handing down the orders to Charlie Company.

"Charlie Company, this is White Knight. Proceed to rear entrance of Sacred Rock outpost. Objective is to make contact with Xen forces and assist. Do not return fire if fired upon."

"Charlie Company to White Knight...No *return* fire, is that clear?'

"Roger that Charlie Company...Do not return fire."

On the other end of the line, Mast. Sgt. Mike Pirelli stood silent as he relayed the orders to his men. They broke off from the convoy, headed south and eastward into an alley. Proceeding northward for a hundred or so meters, they neared Sacred Rock.

Pvt. Williams, who was pointman, peeked around a corner to assess their position. He was met with a barrage of .50 cal fire from Xen troops in the outpost, who had no idea they were friendlies. Most of them tore up the concrete in which Williams had stood, but the shattered casings dug onto his face. The rest of the squad turned to Williams, who was now screaming in agony as he tried to pull out the hot lead embedded into his almost unrecognizable face.

"MEDIC!" Pirelli pulled Williams out of harm's way and to the hands of an awaiting medic.

In a heat of rage, two of the soldiers returned fire, taking down the .50's operators. The rest followed suite, with the grenadier lobbing explosives into the rear entrance...

The radio on their comms operator chirped and was answered.

"Charlie Company this is White Knight, we heard some shots fired coming from your direction. What's your status?"

"White Knight, we've got a man down, hit by MGs up on the outpost. We have reason to believe they could be rioters. Will return fire."

"Did you get a visual on them."

"That's affirmative...they're not friendly"

There was utter silence on behalf of White Knight. "Fire if fired upon."

The line went dead, but the whiz of bullets continued...

(OOC: The C. Company radioman didn't really get a visual...he's just pissed of. I'll resolve things later once Xen actually confirms that they accept our aid.)

Machine gun fire was heard from outside. One of the machine gun men in an APC must have found a hostile. A moment... Then machine gun fired came from the opposite end of what used to be the park.

CO Ara cocked his head up. A few growls and roars were heard downstairs, as stampeding feet rushed outside. Men took positions around the windows, searching out for enemy civilians or soldiers.

A tense minute passed by. Nothing.

A corporal came upstairs, just as the CO was about to go downstairs to see what is happening.

"Commander Ara, we have found some hostiles at the other end."

"Obviouslly. I don't think the soldiers were just target practicing, and that was a really long, delayed echo."

The corporal nodded, and the two Drakons proceeded downstairs, to the 'lobby'.

"Keep an eye out for any hostiles. Don't fire until we are fired on. Saves us some ammo, and gives the position of the enemy away a heck of alot easier," Ordered the CO, as he came out of the lobby, and was behind the semi-circle of APC units.

"We must make a last stand!rush them and blow up as many ships as possible!"Stuka Captain.

"I am not willing to just kill my crew like that."Yak Captain.

"CHARLIE COMPANY, CEASE FIRE! CEASE FIRE!" The radio crackled--obviously it was a very infuriated Williams bellowing out his command.

Pirelli signaled for the rest of the squad to stop firing. "I think we got their attention." He nodded to his mates, signaled for a line formation, and began their entry into Sacred Rock. Pvt. Raynor was pointman now, and with a heavy thud, kicked open the rear access door. The squad was met with the faces of weary Xen soldiers, some wounded others covered in soot and sweat.

Pirelli shook hands with the commander there, apologizing for their part on the friendly fire.

"Sorry about the casualties we inflicted. Emotion just overtook my men. Anyway, a convoy of our armored vehicles is a few blocks down. Xel shouted again, "I SAID COME OUT OR I WILL SHOOT!". He didnt realize that the figure had an SMG pointed towards him, aiming at his head.

A glint off the pistol revealed something to the operative. He suddenly recognized it.

"Hold it," the figure shouted, "Darkskye Special Forces! Im comming out!" With that he jumped down onto the floor, slinging his SMG under his arm. He lifted the goggles and looked around, peering at everybody. He started to walk to Xel.

"Darkskye...?" Xel muttered...he then caught a glimpse of the left shoulder and saw the unit insignia patch. "Red Cell?! Your Red Cell?"

The operative stood up straight and saluted Xel. "Aye, Darkskye Red Ops "Red Cell" Unit, Bravo Brigade. And you must be Xel, if you are carrying that pistol."

"Yes...Mei Ling gave it to me...*OOC: Brackets are Demonessian...however you spell that...you know the native lang...* <I wonder where Mei Ling is now...>

"<Mei Ling is dead. I recovered her body and moved it to a secure location in the catecombs...>" the operative stated in the tounge. Xel's first reaction was shock...this OUTSIDER could speak the native tounge...FLUENTLY! But then the greater shock came...Mei Ling was dead.

Xel didnt know how to take that. He just stood silent. "Mei Ling...dead..." he stated, trying to force himself to believe it.

"She died well," he stated, "And for a good cause. She died a soldier. Any of us would want to go the way she did if we had too."

"Who...who the hell are you?" Xel stated firmly, wanting answers. How did he know the tounge? How did he know how to find Mei Ling? How did he know how to find us? How does he know whats going on here? All these questions raced through his head as he asked that.

There was a short pause before he answered, "I told you, Darkskye Red Ops "Red Cell" Unit, Bravo Brigade."

Xel paused, knowing that was probably all he was going to reveal.

"Captain Zhou Yu...Mei Ling's brother."

"Dr. Lin" tapped his foot impatiently. As a Polynesian foreign service worker, he wasn't used to delays, much less waiting in jam-packed subway stations.

He nervously checked his watch. Fuck. He was going to get to the airport late, and he didn't have time to wait around, not with the intel he had and not after his failure.

He doubted Hikari was going to show up, sn't sure either way. She was hard to call, and he had spent a lifetime studying Demonessians.

Finally! A train. He forced his way onto the train, swinging his backpack and using his elbows to great effect. At least the airport was only three stops from the palace.

He waited. Finally, the bell rang and the doors slid open.

He ran, swiftly and purposefully, taking on the manner of a man rushing to catch a plane.

There it was. Terminal E.

He was suprised.

"Good evening, Hikari-san. I didn't think you were going to make it. "

She said nothing, merely commented on his lateness.

The doctor muttered to himself. "Late is the hour..." More loudly, he offered his arm to the lady. "Shall we, miss?"

She just glared at him.

Smiling, he shrugged and strode off, away from the terminal. "If you'll permit me, my government has provided other accomodations."

They were crossing the tarmac now, to a small hypersonic jet.

"Dr. Lin" palmed the door open and sat at the cockpit. "I've already secured takeoff clearance beforehand."

Hikari was utterly confused now. Where were they going? The Polynesians weren't a substantially powerful or recognized state; they had barely 20 million people, most of them new immigrants!

The hypersonic jet leaped into the air. Twenty minutes later, they were landing aboard a nuclear-powered carrier, easily the equal of a modern Nimitz-class.

A man wearing an admiral's hat was waiting. "Welcome, miss Hikari, to the Polynesian Confederacy. I trust this is the beginning of a profitable relationship."

Commander Ara had just got done talking to Xen HQ. The Drakon muttered something in his mother tongue, most likely an inaudible equivelent of profanity. The situation in Sacred Rock was degrading into a worse and worse state. More citizens were turning hostile like. It was obviouslly up to the doing of the Church and the priests. Combined with mob mentality, people were taking out to the side of the Church. Prophets spoke of doom against the infidels. It was also worsening in other cities, but those cities were being managed a bit better. Some of the cities were registed critical of going back into a state of open revolt.

But lady luck decided to smile down against the small encampment.

"Alpha-Oh-Oh-Two-Niner, Over"

"This is Two-Niner, Over." replied Ara.

"We have currently isolated where the armarments may possibly be located. On the map of Xen map of Sacred Rock, the co-ordinates are One-six long. Armarments are located at three-six-two-niner-five-eight-oh-one, seven-three-oh-one-two-seven-two-three, Far West. We suggest taking out the depot to decrease the effectiveness of the hostiles."

Ara scribbled the co-ordinates down, and immediately opened the map up. Within a few seconds, he fingered the location of the depot.

"We have got word from other sources that the most direct route is blocked up by two barricades. Use AB-Rockets to knock them out."

"This is Two-Niner, we will attempt assault. Out."

Ara just got done drawing the course, memorizing it, and putting the map back before getting back up, only to be greeted by Pirelli.

"Yes, so that was your troops? Thats good. We want you to hold this position with the Red Cell group. The Drakon force will be heading to this location."

At that moment, the gargantuan dragon-human hybrid thrusted the map with the location of the ammo depot to Pirelli.

"Inform the rest of your group, your helicopters especially. We request that the helicopters leave to that location in 10 minutes after we leave."

He patted the human on the shoulder, before walking back downstairs, and growling out orders, and the like. The drakonic troops nodded, and begun filing back into the APC's. It only took a few minutes, but the whole lot of 200 of them got back into the APC's, and were beginning to pull out of the outpost.

The 14 APC's, filled completely up with Drakons from Xen, were making their way through the narrow streets. The APC's were picking up speed as they approached their first barricade.

The first APC pulled out into the open daylight, now entering the roasted, blackened park. Obviouslly the park was burnt down during the rioting, but there was no more rioting.

The APC's continued straightforward for 20 metres, before cutting diagonally across the park to where the barricade stood, surronding the entrance to another road.

The gunners were equipped with AB-Rockets, Anti-Building rockets. These rockets were purely designed with the purpose of bringing down a building.

2 AB-Rockets were fired at the barricade, which composed of carts, metals, and other woodworks. The barricade exploded into thousands of flaming peices of debris. Civilians and militiamen scattered from the impact. Another 4 AB-Missiles slammed in the immediate buildings of the barricade, rending the buildings apart from the inside. Seconds later, the building collapsed back into itself. 3 Buildings fully collapsed, while another was partially collapsed, but was teetering on collapsing the other half of itself.

The convoy of Xen APC's bursted through the bits of debris left behind from the rocket attack. Machine gun fire sounded from both sides, but the bullets only rebounded off of the strong armour of the APC's. The APC's entered the next narrow street, leaving behind a flaming carnage of burning wood and scorched cement.

The second barricade was much more well established than the first one. Infact, there was an opening on the outsides of the barricade to allow people to get around the barricade with more ease. But it was blown to smithereens as the 4 AB-Rockets plunged into the structure, and released their firey wrath. The hostile Demonessian civilians were better equipped, and two AT-Missiles screeched over the ground like a pair of insane eagles.

One of the rockets careened into the ground, falling short of the target, but the other rocket held a more level course, and was rewarded with the impact against the broadside of one of the first APC's. The APC was bumped off course, but quickly regained itself. A scorched mark was left on the side of the APC, the armour torn and nearly broken through. Yells were heard in the cabin where the soldiers resided, obviouslly shaken and hurt by the flying shrapnel in the APC.

But 8 AB-Warheads later returned the greeting, colliding into 6 seperate buildings. All 6 of them collapsed within seconds, and the APC's skidded by them, entering the last leg of the course.

"Commander, we are approaching the depot!" Yelled out the Driver, pushing his dark black boot on the accelerator, as far as it could go.

The APC's exploded into a hornets nest of soldiers and civilians. The place was once a plaza, an open area. Obviouslly a place of importance to the people now. Obviouslly something was going on here.

Machine gun fire sounded, coming from the hostiles. Streakers marked their place, colliding into the APC's from all odds and angles.

The gunner of the front APC leveled his rocket-launcher, before being covered in bullets. He dropped the launcher, letting his lifeless dragonic body slump forward, the bullets piercing right through him. His body was pulled back into the APC, and a new gunner took his place quickly.

The second APC's gunner was more lucky. He fired his rocket into a building where there was alot of activity. Or was, now that the front of the building exploded, sending out blocks of cement and stone at the nearby combatants. The building groaned, but failed to give away. That problem was cleared when the 2nd AB-Rocket smashed into it. The building immediately collapsed, and setted fires to the immediate area.

The back bay doors to he APC's were opening, daylight breaking into the confined quarters where the soldiers anticipated the battle.

The soldiers literally bursted out of the APC's, and fled into the nearest building. Some carried rocket launchers, and fired off their single shot towards any of the buildings that lined across of them. Several of the structures creaked and teetered as they leaned forward, but did not yet yield to the fall that they were expected to have.

Gunbattles broke out within the structures that the Drakon troops invaded. The civilians were either in fury or rage, with love and passion towards the church, firing their pistols or small arms at the demonic looking Xen troops. Obviouslly, some of these people literally believe that these Drakons are the form of the devil, or some equally frightful evil.

The civilians also ran, upon seeing the Xen forces up close. Small arms did very little damage to penetrate the thick scales of these Sturmtruppen, and were pushed back, from building to building.

AT missiles screamed, and collided into the invading APC's. Two of the APC's, although damaged beforehand, were thrown like a ragged doll across the plaza, and splitting into two, or were on fire.

But the location were the missiles were launched from were quickly locked on, and a returning fire of AB-Rockets smashed into the buildings. CO Ara was already sitting down in his chair, with his second in command to discuss the details of the immediate area, and where to place forces. The foothold was taken. Hopefully, it will last until the helicopters arrive.

- CO Ara, Commander of Battle Group 0029

The stale night air permeated throughout Sacred Rock as the joint troops of Xen and Mark the Great stood alert against the remaining snipers. The rioters were starting to tire--barely any small arms fire could be heard from outside.

The familiar crackle of the comms going off echoed through the lobby.

"White Knight to all units. We've just received orders to pull out and amass forces near the Xao Nang border."

Pirelli frowned upon the message. Why in the hell was the top brass taking out troops when things began to die down? He worried if Xen forces would be overwhelmed without their aid if another riot ensued. The others had contemplated this problem as well.

"Any volunteers willing to stay?"

All nodded in unison. They believed in their leader enough to die for him.

"Charlie Company to White Knight. Requesting permission to hold position and continue our supporting role to Xen troops."

"Permission denied. The Xao Nang/Sra Ligaro Border Dispute is our top priority. No ifs, ands or buts. A few Shriek threes will stay as air cover, and satellite recon will be provided to the Xen via a comms vehicle we will leave behind. Convoy will await extraction outside Sacred Rock. Over and out."

Pirelli sighed. One more act of defiance against orders would rack up to his current army record of six--he knew he might not get lucky with a court martial this time.

"You heard 'im. Saddle up and let's get outta here."

With that, Charlie Company loaded up on the APCs and Humvees, rolling off towards the shore for an immediate extraction via hovercraft, while a lone UCOMV(unmanned communications vehicle) stood outside for Xen use.

We, as a nation, have for too long sat back and watch these events unfurl before us as a well constructed stage show. We will be silent no longer.

After long and heated discussion throughout the night of 26/12/02 with myself, Joe and Bill present (Mandys still too excited about the Miss Universe thing, and throughout the night she tends to er... 'entertain' her newly found fans) the following course of action was decided upon:

Since we had not heard from Jia Li since the duel we have taken it upon ourselves to anticipate what she would want. Therefore we are fulfilling a pledge that I made not so long ago. As promised, 40 million military members were mobilised. They should be reaching the borders round about now. Another 20 million have been pledged as well but these will not be sent until I have called upon my allies to defend my borders in my weakend state.
Due to the fact that there are, potentially, 119 million citizens to pacify then I believe these numbers are justified.

Their orders are to start with the smaller villages and then move up the scale from there. Since these have been neglected so far I dread to think of the problems that have arisen there.
We will use non-leathal force. To much blood had been spilt already in this conflict, there need be no more.
However, due to the dire situation at Sacred Rock we may be forced to abandon the said course of action and lend weight there.

Finally, if the second force is needed then I will personally lead them.

The reaper has been too busy of late, let us give him a rest.

Xel was unsure which to react to first - Mei Ling's death, the appearance of her brother, or that he spoke Demonese fluently. He also had Jia Li's abrupt disappearance to worry about.

He was silent for a moment as he remembered. Then he turned to Arilyn. "Do you have any idea where she was taken?"

Daughter Demoness talked while Jia Li listened; the Empress was wrong about a lot of things. Daughter was the one who originally made the priest marriage law so that she and her successors had full control over the religion.

She had also created the laws that bound the High Guard, but it was never intended to degrade into slavery. At the time, the nation had been under heavy threat of war and the Empress had needed 24 hour protection. After the threat subsided, the law was supposed to be voided, but it had evolved into tradition instead.

The goddess revealed a great many things about herself and her religion, and finally, she said, "Our time neareth its end. We shall return thou and thou shalt carry out Our work."

"Wait, before you send me back - what of my people?"

Daughter lowered her head. "A great many fell this day, but We may be able to bring them back."

Jia Li raised an eyebrow. "You're a goddess..."

"Mother is an Ancient. We are much younger than She and less powerful. We shall do the best we can for all who died today."

Then Jia Li was back in the palace throne room, which was surprisingly untouched despite the chaos going on in the rest of the country.
----
Jia Li sat on the throne.

"Nations who have aided me in Demoness' darkest hour, thank you. I am in full control of the government once again - never mind how. The riots will stop immediately - again, don't ask how. It is better that you do not know how.

"Please withdraw your surviving troops and equipment immediately. Take the injured, but leave the dead behind as we will take care of them for you. I know this is an odd request, but I ask that you comply."

Her face turned hard. "You have 5 hours to withdraw. I know this is almost unreasonable, but it is imperative that you leave as soon as you can.

She softened again and smiled. "I cannot show my true appreciation now, but in two weeks, I shall. Until then, good bye."

The transmission ended and Jia Li sat back, slouching. "Ye Gods, this has been a long day." She rose and looked out the window.

Indeed, the riots had stopped.

"Now to find everyone else..."

OOC: Heh, don't ask how this was transmitted to everyone either. ^_^;

Thanks guys. ^_^ There should be a banquet in "two weeks". You're all invited.

It was rather awkward how the message was sent out. TV broadcasting stations were puzzled, the source of where this message came from unknown. Radios, military and civilian, crackled with this message. Sattelites were jammed out as the transmissions was sent out across most of the region.

The phone in Sovy's Dictorial Room rang, while he was busy with sleep. "Such matters, could they not wait until he is awake?" thought the Drakon, reaching over, and picking the phone up. Pressing it against his earhole, he heard Aido on the other end.

"Dragon Kurosei! The riots have ended in the urban centres, according to intelligence. It is not known, but the Demonessians, they have ended their dissenting," Aido said. She was excited by the news, but kept her tone semi-serious and professional. The girl gets excited so easi- Wha? No more riots?

"No more riots? They have all ended?"

"Yes, Dictator Kurosei, they have. A communique was received from an unknown source, but we believe it came from somewhere within the capital. I'll replay the recording now,"

The message hissed and crackled, then a voice overcame the ominious white noise as clear as ice.

It was the one, explaining the withdrawel of troops, and that the riots would cease.

"And the riots ended? Of course, this must surely be a sign of some kind. If this... whatever it is, can end the riots, then it would be wise to recall the rest of the <b>Sturmtruppen</b> Drakon Expeditionary Forces, as Jia Li has asked..."

Sovy thought to himself, for a moment. How did he know it was Jia Li? He felt it, somewhere. Maybe it was the voice, but over the static... That must be it.

"I don't think we have the ability to recall the troops back in time. By the time that the Osprey's turn back, drop their payload, and return, then time would be up." Aido replied.

The Dragon Kurosei thought to himself. He sat straight up in his bed, using one arm to balance him upwards, the other to hold the phone up to him to talk to Aido.

"We will have to leave the APC's behind then. Squeeze the forces into the Ospreys. Cram as many soldiers as you can into those Ospreys. I'll be damned if I leave anybody behind when the counter hits 0."

Aido thought, making a mental calculation. The Osprey's usually carried two APC's, so, without their weight, not to mention the fewer members that survived... Yes, they should be able to pull it off.

"Will do, Dictator. Have a nice nap." said Aido, before hanging up the phone on Sovy, who was in mid-speech of saying good night. Sovy muttered. He hated how Aido does that.

-----------------------------

The landscape had an eerie scene to it. A battle ravaged land, where moments before gunfire was erupting, and death was everywhere, in every corner. But it all ended, the citizens freezing, turning into a zombie state.

The squak box by CO Ara came to life, sputtering out a call designation in static and voice.

Ara politelly replied, with his call designation. It was from Xen HQ. Reinforcements have arrived.

"We are ordering all forces to withdraw from the urban centers. We require your group to leave at once to Landing Point Oh-Two. Leave behind all non-essentials, including APC's. Leave behind the dead."

Ara already knew what was going on. The voice over the radio had an eerieness to it, almost as if the voice was coming from within the actual room. Even the white-noise, which is apparent in all communications, was not noticed in the latest one. The drakon thought he was imagining things, but with the sudden stop in enemy gunfire... And the orders from HQ.

Commander Ara immediately picked himself up, taking the radio with him. The seargent, who suffered a small arms bruise to his shoulder, ran up to him.

"Gather up the wounded, leave behind the dead," muttered Ara. He didn't like to leave behind the dead, and wished the soldiers could at least be buried on their own, home soil, and not in this wretched place. To say the least, he didn't take too kindly to humans. First that Necron bastard, then when they needed assistence in this crucial strike, they fled. It almost felt like a hopeless cause, in a way. A waste of life. But he was glad he was getting out of this forsaken city. He saw enough death today, even when compared to the Unification War.

The APC's that survived the onslaught were boarded with the remaining forces, and begun their slow drive through the streets. It was scary... People had a zombie look on their face, dazed. Their guns lie by their feet, as they looked outward. They looked out to the palace.

Some of the fighting is getting really weird...Not to mention my population is growing by the second regardless of casualties - and this is bad because it means Sacred Rock now has at least 3 million people (it's supposed to have a proportion significant to the rest of the country).

OOC: Hmm. After all that buildup, it's a shame to end it with a deus-ex-machina, especially one that undoes most of what's developed. This could've been something impressive.

If you're tired of it, though, I suppose there's no point continuing. And at least someone might get some mileage out of Demoness' willingness to mind-control its citizens en masse...

Mass Migration, Unexplained Phenomena in Demoness
by Joseph Treen

Demoness (Reuters) - Despite the recent and bloody civil war in Demoness in which thousands (OOC: Is that a good estimate?) of civilians and foreign men and women were killed, ethnic Demonessians are returning to their homeland by the millions. Equally strange are the mass emigrations of non-ethnics.

When asked to comment, emigrant Mysteria Sanverse had this to say: "I'm not sure why I'm leaving, but I guess I feel it's just time for me to go. It's a shame though - this country's the most liberal about letting its citizens use the international channels."

"I just felt it was time for me to go home," says Jake Hayashi, immigrant and third generation born outside Demoness. "I've always wanted to visit the homeland. Now that I'm almost here, I don't want to leave." Hayashi was interviewed before he entered Demoness' borders.

Demoness appears to have unofficially closed its borders again. Aside from ethnic Demonessians, no one is allowed to enter the country. However, we have still received unconfirmed reports from unnamed sources of even stranger happenings.

According to inside sources, the Demonessians have changed in appearance, but reports have differed greatly. Some have told that the Demonessians are now elf-like; others say they glow in the dark; and still others claim they have turned into animals. There have also been rumors of Demonessians acting like nothing more than puppets.

Reports also state that the architecture and style of the country has greatly changed, but to what, I cannot say. Perhaps Demoness has finally entered the 21st century and it's modernizing its cities, or it's sunk deeper into its "quaint" medieval structure.

However, there is one rumor I would like to dispel: people have come back from the dead. Quite obviously, this is ridiculous! Whoever was in charge of the casualties list royally screwed up: hundreds of KIAs and MIAs are suddenly emerging from the Demoness borders. I can't believe any military would be so sloppy.

Empress Jia Li was unavailable for comment. We were told to contact her in two weeks.

However, we were able to contact former High Priestess Hikari, who is exiled in Polynesian Free States. "Everything you're hearing is a load of [junk]. Jia Li lacks the technology and the divine influence to do any of that! She's just pulling a publicity stunt to get the focus off the fact that she stole the throne." Hikari is reportedly a rival to the throne.

OOC: Like I said - not everyone would come back. You guys pick and choose, but military stuff stays destroyed, including whatever damage Chellis did to my navy.

Jia Li will be back in "two weeks" to confirm or deny any of those rumors.

Of course I was right, I'm ALWAYS right. We are isolationist for a reason, Estavia must be made strong again. This cannot be accomplished by getting involved in international conflict. Besides, it can't be a good thing, mixing with our ever so superstitious peers. Magic? Gods? Feh. Total rubbish and you know it. ~walks off~

"Everything you're hearing is a load of [junk]. Jia Li lacks the techn-CLICK", the TV was blaring, before being turned off by remote.

It was... a bit different. Currently, there have been reports of people, soldiers and others coming back to life, and stumbling towards the border, in utter confusion on what happened.

The Dragon Kurosei highly doubted that it was a sloppy job of the military of the other countries on the reports. But it is quite puzzling that there are reports of other countries finding men that were thought to be killed in action, only for Sovy to not hear of any surviving Drakons. Not a single one.

Quite a disturbing ordeal, all in all.

"And so, we currently believe that something else is at work. There are reports of soldiers being torn up in gunfire, but are exiting the borders without so much as a bruise. Although, there are no Xen forces that were seen amongst the survivors yet." talked Aido. She was the last one to give her report about the afteraffects of the war on the country, neighboring countries, and what to do about the now blossoming budget, which currently has given the citizens of Xen the much needed after war tax cut that they deserve.

"The citizens, how are they taking this ordeal?" Asked Xeneth. He rarely talked, and even more rarely asked questions. But he asked anyways, knowing that Sovy would ask Aido for this particular question sooner or later.

"According to the Internal Security Minister...," Aido said, as she looked down at the monitor of her pocketPC, the information just coming up and being rendered on the monitor.

"According to the minister, the citizens are taking this war harshly. They have been increasingly more aggressive, as well as Anti-Human campaigns have sprung up. Especially with these events in Demoness, and about how the Drakon forces were left without the support that they requested. It will take time and peace to make sure that the citizens don't radicalize. That would be a very bad thing," finished Aido, her gaze glancing between General Xeneth, and the Dragon Kurosei as she spoke.

"Yes. We will need peace. We have seen enough war already, and it is breaking the faith of the citizens. Hopefully, something can be salvaged out of this war. Maybe some survivors will be found. Thats all we can hope for," stated Sovy, eyeing the table top from his large, dark overhanging throne. Alot of these rooms have their own throne. Very strange, but serves its purpose of making Sovy taller, stronger, and meaner to others.
