Many Issues are too limited in responses, or the responses are linked in some unpalatable way. For example:

#5: Child Casino Shock:
Options are [1]outright ban on all gambling, or [2]allowing kids to gamble legally...What about setting an age requirement, and fining casinos that fail to follow that requirement, or imprisoning their executives?

#20: Gunman Kills Three
Options are [1]guns for police and military only, [2]ban all guns, or [3]keep guns legal but ban violent movies and video games... What about background checks, increased prison terms for gun crimes? Some enlightened despots [me] might not want to ban either guns or movies/games.

I prefer NOT to click the [Dismiss this Issue] button. I like to make an affirmative decision, but sometimes the Issue and responses are framed in such a way that no choice is acceptable.

I am led to believe that is the actual point, you can only choose a whacked out option.

Ah, that could be, although many issues do have sensible options in addition to humorous ones. I'm just taking my tyrannical duties too seriously!

Theres no shame in a good ol' dismiss! :)
You'll find that's what most real life governments fall back on.
We've all done it - with the notable exception of a few rebels.

I also hate the extremely exaggerated Issue choices. For instance, there was an ancient temple on an area of land designated for a mall. I decided to cancel the building of the mall, and dig up the temple. Now it says that my government swamps prime commercial land for archeological finds. It's really annoying.
