Effects of Issues.
I'm sure this has been proposed before, but I suggest that when deciding on issues, the effects of each stance will be shown. For instance, -taxes +economy +crime (etc.). Sometimes I have things pop up in my nation and I wonder where they came from. For instance, my crime has gone from moderate to "a problem," even though I haven't done anything but privatized some businesses and allowed metal to continue. That's what mad me thinking of this. Does permitting heavy metal increase your crime rate by acting as a bad influence? It's hard to know.
That's what makes it fun! Even in the "real" world, we never know what (or how) something can/will effect "other" happenings.

knowing the effects of certain legislation would be useful, however, i have to agree with Shujika, it makes it much more realistic in the first place.

The game is supposed to be about extremes. If you don't like how an issue turned out then next time you get it, vote differently. Thats what I do. :)

You have to experiment and figure out for yourself how the issues will affect you.
