Question About Repeats (i read the sticky first!)

Ok, i know issues repeat, and i know why, and i'm ok with that part of it, blah blah blah..

My question is, say i act on an issue in a way that, for example, raises my taxes. Ok. The taxes of Goatapolis are raised. However, if i get that issue again, and choose the same thing as last time, are they raised yet again, on top of the last raise?

I'm not so sure i'd call this a bug, as there are ways of explaining why this makes sense. I'm just curious as to whether or not that's actually what happens, and if so, what players do in response to that.

Thanks for any input, and sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere. I looked for this issue, but i could not find it anywhere else.

Goatly yours,

Yes.

Ok, thanks!

What are people doing because of this? Do they continue answering the same way, and have ever-increasing statistics, or do they start dismissing them after the first time they come up? Is this seen as a feature or a bug?

For me, it depends on the issue, and my plans for the nation in question. In the case of taxes, since I can actually SEE what my tax rate is, if I think the taxes are too high, I'll probably try to cut them, even if I'd previously raised them with that same issue.

You can change your mind on some matters, or sometimes it's fun just to choose the most outlandish option just to see what happens.

I've been told that the size of a nation affects the extent to which at least some issues' answers would modify its stats (Larger nation, smaller effects).

I think it depends on what your stats are - some issue options will change, say, your tax rate by +5 (for example), while some might change it by +5%. Obviously if you have a high tax rate and the option you choose changes it by 5%, the absolute change will be different compared to for a nation with a low tax rate.

This isn't a feature or a bug. It just is what it is.

That's dangerous. I just have a puppet for that. :)
