Taking a Stance

The Issue
Conservative groups are up in arms over a recent trend in modern art depicting vaguely promiscuous nudity.

The Debate
1. "It's disgusting," says BLAH, while putting the finishing touches on a bowl of fruit. "It isn't art; it's pornography! Respectable artists like me are taking a hit to their reputation thanks to these weirdos. I say it should be banned! While you're at it, why not ban all references to sex in the Arts?"

2. "Disgusting? Pornography? References to SEX?" Esteemed poet and infamous government protester BLAH is outraged. "The human body is not necessarily sexual - only an animal without an aesthetic sense could call all nudity pornographic! I say we open the metaphorical floodgates wide and let the Arts flow as they will!"

3. "And then drown in a sea of 'abstract art' that looks like a puddle of vomit," comments working class man BLAH. "I can appreciate both of these art styles, but frankly, there needs to be a line on what can be considered 'art'. I don't want my children coming eye to eye with a still of someone's hoo-hah, but I see nothing wrong with appreciating the form of the body so long as nothing too promiscuous is showing. So get rid of that, and take all of this 'abstract' nonsense with it!"

4. Your Minister of Art, whom you never knew was in your employ and looks suspiciously like a janitor, steps in. "There's no need to ban things or put restrictions on subjective concepts. Why not just set up a panel to judge all art and reward artists whose creativity flows in line with your idea of art by way of funding? That'll convince artists to paint the things you like to see but allow them to, say, draw their spouse in their free time."

Well written, but I think there's already an issue very similar to this.
