Purposeful Misinformation, Or Poor Programing?

The Title Page Of Barbraria Says Things That Are Not Only Very Misleading, But Are Sometimes Blantly Untrue. Who Writes Such Misinformation?

That information is from how you answer your issues. So it's not Purposeful Misinformation nor Poor Programming.

If this is about the misleading issue replies, them I'm going to have my 2c worth. I just put up a reply to the inheritance tax issue, advocating compromise. The next thing I see, it's suddenly a case of "the government takes almost everything". WTF?!?!?!?! That is NOT what was in the option I chose.

This is really getting me down, because every time I choose something, some a**hole twists it into the opposite.:headbang: This is making NS LESS enjoyable than otherwise - when I hit the "compromise" option, I want to see a compromise, not a twisted-sisters spin-off of my decision.

NS is all about extremes. If you don't like the option, then next time you see the issue, dismiss it.

As I understand it, quite a bit of effort goes into making sure that every option has a twisted-sisters spin-off. This is politics, man! You may be creating a Utopia, but Fate -- or your people -- will have a say, regardless.

On a more mundane level, it sometimes takes a while for issue decisions to have an effect on your nation's description. Sometimes it's cumulative, too. Plus, decisions in one area may hit another area in a totally unlooked-for fashion. And, from observation -- I'm no techy -- different sections of the description move differently.

Huh, it used to do that if you typed in all caps. Not sure why anyone would do it intentionally.

Ha. If that's the case, then Barbraria really has some poor luck with programmers.

You miss the point. I choose a stance to take, and then - in the area central to the issue - the results are either the exact opposite, or a twisted-round, loopy version of what I put up.

Are you using a 'web accelerator'? If so, then information in various older threads here suggests that that might be screwing things up for you.
Try switching it off, at least for NS, and see whether you start getting results that are more in line with your intentions...

That seems unrelated. You would see the wrong choice immediately after you made it.

Edit: Actually, maybe not. I'll have to think about it.

I am currently using a computer at my university, at least until December. How do I tell if there is a web accelerator is operating?

Typically only dial-up ISPs such as AOL or NetZero offer web accelerators. It's just a temporary cache on the ISP server that prevents you from receiving new versions of pages you recently viewed. Universities typically have a permanent high-speed link, and a web accelerator is pointless for direct connections, as you've already got enough bandwidth to get whatever you need.

In short, it's probably just typical NS issues, not a technical problem.

They also follow all links on web pages and store them to display immediately if you click on one. That's what causes the problem with us. When you click on the link to make a decision, we never know about it. The web accelerator has effectively clicked all the links for you, in whatever order it likes.
