I dont understand this correlation

I just had a filibuster issue where my decision was to have a time limit for speaking on issues and have a majority/democratic vote stand. Seemed fairly middle-road option, especially when considering the other options.

My question is can anyone explain how this turned my government from "Democratic Socialist" into a "Corrupt Dictatorship"? This doesn't make any sense to me.

Anyone know why this specific option changed it that much? maybe I'm just naive but if someone can explain this correlation I would appreciate it. Thanks.

There is a chance it is the UN, however, I would go to the 'got issues' part of the forum and see if you can look it up.

I believe that option takes away political freedoms.

Although I could be mistaken.

The fillibuster is a device in the representative democracy that allows the minority a voice of reason. In multi-party governments it prevents ruling parties from railroading minority parties. It's like a political demonstration, with its constitutional roots in Free Speech, and the Right to Petition.

I had the same thing happen to me. Somehow I think this particular issue is somewhat flawed. Since I know for a fact that many nations have time limits on both the asking and aswering of questions in their respective parliaments, and this in no way limits political freedoms. If anything it enhances them, since it means that politicians can bog things down on one issue in order to stop other things getting through.
Granted the game is meant to take things to extremes to make it more amusing, but I think this one goes the wrong way.

The filibuster issue can be... dramatic. That's probably the source of your change.
