i hope this is the right section for this..
my nation receives 2 issues a day.. yesterday i got these:
#9: Red Featherd Eagles on the Dinner Table?
The Issue
In a bid to provide a new revenue stream for Red Featherd Eagle's Beef-Based Agriculture industry, it has been suggested that Red Featherd Eagles could be added to the menu.
The Debate
1. "The fact is, the Red Featherd Eagle population is out of control," says Beef-Based Agriculture spokesperson Pip Wong. "We have to do something about them anyway, so why not market them as tasty snacks? We could have Red Featherd Eagle kebabs, Red Featherd Eagle pies, Red Featherd Eagle-on-a-sticks--the possibilities are endless! Let's not pass up this golden opportunity to provide a feast, if you will, for our economy."

2. "I agree that something needs to be done about Red Featherd Eagle over-population," says random passer-by Alexei McAlpin, "but eating them? That's kind of gross. Let's just shoot the ones we have to and shovel their bodies into ditches like normal."

3. "I am shocked and appalled!" declared SPCA President Anne-Marie Wall. "If anyone needs to be culled, it's us humans. The Red Featherd Eagles were here first, remember? We need to take this as a sign to get our industry--agriculture in particular--to back off. The Red Featherd Eagle is part of what makes WarTech a great nation!"
This is the position your government is preparing to adopt.
now this first issue i've gotten a few times and have always protected them.. with no real notice of change the next day from choosing #3... i suspected it would increase environment spending which was fine.

After the capture and trial of notorious rapist Henry Taiden, who was convicted of the rape of over 50 women in the past two years a debate has emerged on how he should be punished.
The Debate
1. "That psychopath should be castrated!" cries rape victim Steffan McGuffin, "The agony he put me through must be punished with a means that will ensure that no human being will ever go through what I did! If castration is used more often in these cases you will see rape drop to nothing!"

2. "I understand that this is a terrible time for the poor victims in this case," says defense attorney Randy Winters, "However, the answer is not to revert back to the dark ages. Instead, we should focus on rehabilitation of all criminals in our prison system."

3. "Everyone knows re-education is a waste of money, we shouldn't go soft on these crooks!" says CEO Pete Johnson of the People Trading Corporation. "Simply place all rapists and criminals in WarTech into forced labor under the management of our company to serve out their sentences. When we're through with them, they won't even think of jaywalking, much less harming another person. We get cheap labor, and these crooks get put straight. Everybody benefits... well, except the crooks."

now here is where the real trouble starts.. i've never gotten this issue before.
my nation is suppose to be a hard nose waring one.. which is also big on freedoms and the envrioment.. i picked #3 because i figured it would probably lower civil rights.. and increase economy a little bit.. as i said my nation is big on most civil rights (althogh it has compulsory military service) however they dont care at all about prisoner rights.. so this seemed like a good choice..
now the thing is it backfired i guess.. my economy went from good to reasonable .. which from what i understand is a 2 point drop (totally passing over "fair")
i suppose it was because the criminal slave labor maybe displaced normal workers? but anyway i wanted to know if anyone else had similar effects from this issue.. again maybe the national animal on the dinner table issue also effected economy.. but i've never seen such effects before with it..
perhaps the 2 issues on their own was'nt so bad but together made it much worse? anyway i gained nothing else from it and my GDP (per cap) went down from 8k to 5k.. which seems rather harsh.
BTW this section only has about a dozen threads but the index says it should have about 1800 threads.. am i not seeing all of them?
