How long does it usually take for the moderators to let you know if your submitted issue has been excepted?

I'm not sure if anyone's been editing new issues since Sirocco left. If they are, then it could be a very long time - the only time I've had one accepted I got the acceptance TG eight months after I submitted the issue.
In other words, it'll be whenever.

So if there's no one officially proofing issues, can soneone apply for the position?

Only Game Moderators can process issues, so... no. You can't really apply.
;)
It's not (just) a matter of 'proofing' issues - they need to be coded into the game. This is far more complicated than may first appear.

Scolopendra, GMC Military Arms, Reploid Productions, and Euroslavia are all still editing and coding issues, I believe. Of course, they're also busy with other things, and there are still >10000 (i estimate) issue submissions to sort through, with more arriving every day, so it may be a bit of a while.

Wow! I never knew so many issues were waiting for their inspection. That's unbelievable. No wonder it takes a while to hear back from them.
How do you find out what knew issues are available?
