I could really use the help of other nations.

I recieved an issue this morning--one that has me confused, and I don't know what to do. It would be really nice if someone could give me their opinion on the issue.

It concerns Harrie Potter. One view said I should take the book off shelves, salt it down, and burn it. Another said that I shouldn't listen to those "religious waccos, like the Christians", that it was fantasy.

What do you think? I have never read the books or watched any of the movies, so I wouldn't know.

The books are about a Boy raised by non-magical stepparents (think evil stepparents) who finds out he is a wizard and now goes to a school to learn about witchcraft and wizardry... he also learns that the wizard who killed his parents is still around and now want to finish the job.

as for your choices... you're the ruler.

Being familiar with the Potter stories isn't really important... it comes down to this:

A. So you think books should be burnt because of the fact that special intrest groups say so? (This gives religious figures in your country, like the 700 club, a ton of power.)

or

B. You think freedom of the press shouldn't be messed with, even if it means people can publish absolute crap.

Personally, I would enjoy a good burning of Potter and some other choice fantasy based wastes of paper, but I chose not to based on principle.

I'd say, it depends on what kind of nation you're trying to build. Some national cultures would consider anything to do with "wizards" or "demons" abhorrent. Other cultures might consider book-burning to be abhorrent.

Thank you all somuch. The day I posted this thread, I deleted the issue because I wasn't sure of what to do. It seemed to be the safer option.
