We need a National Anthem!

It has come to our attention, that @@NAME@@ needs a national anthem. And I, @@RANDOMNAME@@, spokesperson of the people of @@NAME@@, have been asked to forward this issue to you.

This issue is valid for everyone.

All of them should increase political freedom(because you gave them say in something that represents the nation, which is normally government controlled). They also have to have varying degrees of advantages and disadvantages(though they don't have to be equally dis/advantagious), and not indicate any bias toward any type of music, or at least not a strong one. Also there should be a 4th option:

I agree with A_B(and not because his last option made me crack up).
Each option should have something 'good' going for it, especially if it's a matter of taste. Even if, say, one option includes Polka, and the effect is that the International Community has to put cold-compressors on their ears whenever they hear your anthem, it should still increase your peoples happiness. It's rather in the nature of the issue to increase happiness.
There should also be an option to, say, ban a national anthem(or singing and music altogether), which would decrease civil rights, but have an effect which allows your populace to never have to endure the sound of terrible commercial jingles and ear-worms(songs that get stuck in ones head).

Banning a national anthem only decreases political rights. Although if you meant that for if it bans singing and music altogether, I agree. This whole issue is an excellent idea, there does need to be one about a national anthem, but it requires a serious overhaul. I'll be working overnight but I may just be able to rewrite this myself tommorrow.

Okay issue but since you are picking from a list, I think there should be lots of choices, like when you choice a new Supreme Court Judge.

I think there should also be:

-traditional Christian hymn
-native tribe war dance
-option saying we shouldn't have an anthem at all

Many people think indie sucks. A_B prolly chose it because of Heavy Metal's popularity, not because he likes it. don't be so self-centered.

Sucks, and doesn't suck are highly subjective. I for one though, appreciate all forms of music, including the 3 that were listed(though very few country songs, and the only kind of music I don't like are hybrid musics). As for your original one, uh, it doesn't meet the criteria according to the sticky about getting issues accepted(as to wether mine does, I'll let other people be the judge of that, I certainly hope so). That is why I rewrote it, I think you have an excellent idea, but it won't get accepted as as origanally written.

But a proper choice of national anthems will be avaliable in NS2.

However I still think that there needs to be a choice of a traditional hymn as this is what many countries have.

That is a very good point. I may see if I can write one when I have more time on my hands(this week = bad). I don't think it should go too far beyond that though. The object is to make the player think, not give them a headache trying to choose(too many issues manage to do that with only 2 options as is).

the options are two short, the arguments baisically are "this is a good type of music", and there are two good options and one bad one, which is bad. there should be more stats.

also, the effects are bad, as they only say how good people think the anthem is. needs to be changed.
