Name: The Technophobia of @@NAME@@

Validity: Poor to no IT Industry

Description: A group of concerned citizens calling themselves the 'Techno-Boffins' have spoken out about the nations lack of Infromation Technology resources.

[option]"I went to a store the other day and asked for an Ethernet-ready wireless NAT Router with SPI and the store clerk just gave me a quizzical look." states @@RANDOMNAME@@, Appointed head of Techno-Boffins. "Technology, any technology, is severly lacking in this nation. The Government should do something about it. Like wireing every house with the latest in wired and wireless computer solutions. Then we can be finally living in whatever century we are meant to be instead of back at 6000 BC smashing rocks together."
[effect]the government spends most of the education budget on giving families access to pornographic material

[option]"Down with Technology, Down with Technology." chants the head of the local Amish community "Technology is evil, it's from the devil. Ban all technology and go back to how we where living.. oh I don't know 2 thousand years ago and everyone will be living a much more boring life, the way it was meant to be."
[effect]the local populace and the amish community are virtually identical

[option]@@RANDOMNAME@@, the head of the nations only IT company. 'IT' recommends the following... "Hey, put computers in schools we can sell them to you fairly cheap. This will greatly increase our nations use of technology and what matters if it increases our bottom line as well? You'll be doing the nation a service and that is what matters."
[effect]parents are being accused of 'putting their childs education at risk' by not having a computer at home

[option]"Technology is not the problem, it's what we are using the technology for." states @@RANDOMNAME@@ spokesperson for EcoTech, an environmental Technology think tank, "If we stop putting our R&D @@CURRENCY@@s into things like weapons and ways to polute the planet through cars and instead research into ways of getting all those nasty toxins out of our atmosphere then everyone is happy."
[effect]toxins are being taken out of the atmosphere but are just as quickly being replaced
.........

Good issue but the option to ban all computers has already been used quite a lot.

The thrid option IMO isn't really radical though it does have radical effects...
put computers into public schools is the basis of it and I think I might actually tone down the capitalistic portion of it .... also you've given me another idea of an option.

Indeed, as an innofensive centrist democracy I would prefer a less extreme solution... perhaps involving fluffy bunnies
