Title: Running Around Education

Description: Outraged parents claim that their strictly academic children do not get enough time in the spotlight.

Validity: Not Valid for nations where schools are banned.

Options:

[option]"I'm sick of this," cries Lydia Wells, mother of the school's spelling bee champion. "All I ever hear about is how fast @@RANDOMNAME@@ can run a 100 meter dash. My son has worked far too hard to be ignored. We should ban sports entirely and focus on what's truly important. EDUCATION!"
[effect]Sports of any kind are banned within schools.
[stats]Apathy goes up. Health goes down. Intelligence Up

[option]"Now let's not be too hasty," pants @@RANDOMNAME@@, arriving from his morning 20 mile jog. "Those bookworms could use a break from all that studying. Why not have all children participate in sports? With all the exercise, the government could save plenty in health care expenses."
[effect]Compulsory sports participation for all students.
[stats]Taxes go down slightly. Civil Rights Go down, Health Goes up,

[option]"I like your style sir," exclaims @@RANDOMNAME@@, head of Finances. "However, I think we could go a bit further. Why not have the kids who don't want to participate pay a small fee? It'll go to their education, of course."
[effect]Compulsory sports participation for children without money.
[stats]Economy Up, Rift between Rich and Poor grows.

...

what about letting health decrease from 1. and intelligence raise (pretty sure thats a mark as well)

let health increase and intelligence decrease in 2. (why the decrease in political freedom by the way??)

let economy raise in the 3'rd ... maybe also for a larger border between rich/poor ....

#2 should reduce civil rights, not political freedoms. I agree with it reducing the intelligence of your population (if that stat exists). Also, it would probably shrink Healthcare.

#3 would probably count as a tax hike. I agree with it widening the rich/poor divide.

its spelled metre, not meter.
Bloody Limies! ;)

Looks good, but I don't know what political freedoms have to do with running.

What if you added another option about only letting boys participate in sports, you know, like traditional gender roles? (yay, nay?)

I think that would improve the issue.

Thanks for the input guys. Sorry about the typos and mistakes as far as effects go. It was about 2 am when I wrote this, so I'll doctor it up when I have a few minutes (I'm rushed right now).

For the fourth option would this work?:

[option]"Excuse me" roars @@RANDOMNAME@@, mother of the school's beauty queen. "I can't have my beautiful daughter doing all that. It would completely mess up our current routine. Let's leave this regime to the boys in the school."
[effects]Girls are exempt

How about an option that doesn't completely remove PE from schools, but offers a sort of national academic championship? Or some sort of interschool thing.

I don't think that would work.
