Should Cops Arrest In Neighbor Countries?

After the escape of major criminal @@RANDOMNAME@@ by fleeing over the border, cops feel that they should be allowed to arrest people in neighbor countires.

1. Chief policeman @@RANDOMNAME@@ wants action. "Every year, thousands of criminals escape over the border and we are forced to stop giving chase and let the other country deal with it! I say that we should be allowed to arrest criminals when they flee over the border! Besides, it doubles the police force when the border country aids us!"

2. "We can't let this happen!" says Economics & Foreign Trade Advisor @@RANDOMNAME@@. "If we do, border countires will be furious and may refuse to do trade with us because we butt into what should be their buisness! We must let the neighbors deal with it when this happens! Our neighbors aren't going to aid us! They're going to attack us and kill our police force!"

3. "I don't think this is the problem," says respected citizen @@RANDOMNAME@@. "The problem here is that we are not allowed to kill them! We are going too easy on the crack-heads, and I say we must be allowed to run them off the road and destroy the car with the drug dealers inside! That will show them how tough @@NAME@@'s police force is!"

Re-Model the Missions!

Over the course of about 300 years, many abanoned missions have crumbled, and only a few are left, but they are unfinished and on the verge of crumbling. What should be done about these missions?

1. "These places are turning into rubble," says @@RANDOMNAME@@, founder of the Mission Committee. "They need to be re-modeled and finished to show how the original builders wanted it. Let's finish that abandonded bell tower and turn that crumbling heap into a real mission! We'll just need a bit of government funding, of course."

2. Local Environmentalist @@RANDOMANME@@ begs to differ. "They may not of finished it, but it was once a sacred place and needs to stay the way it was, crumbling or not. Besides, if they begin construction on it, it will collapse! I say put the plaster and hammers somewhere else!"

3. Big Buisness CEO @@RANDOMNAME@@ scoffs the entire idea. "Who cares about something like that? It's old, crumbling, and dusty. Besides, they tried to teach Bigtopians a religion that we don't use today! It's useless and past it's prime, so I say we take a cannonball to it and really reduce it to rubble!"

I think they are both too obscure.

Have a look at the Macros thread for some help: http://invisionfree.com/forums/The_East_Pacific/index.php It's @@NAME@@ and @@RANDOMNAME@@.

Also you used the word 'missions' too much.

The second issure references "Indians", which may or may not exist in certain NationStates countries.

What about the option in the Gambling issue with the 'Dancing With-@@ANIMAL@@s' guy.

So what if they are obscure? The missions issue comes from a personal experience, being in Arizona and all. And for those of you who don't know: A mission is the same thing as a church, but here, that is how we refer to them as. I noticed that at one of the Missions, Tumaccacori Mission, had an unfinished bell tower and that the inside was vandalised. It was just something I wanted to blurt out.

As for the Border Issue, It's been bugging me for a while. You know in those cops shows where the criminal tries to escape to the border so the police are not allowed to give chase any longer. I have always felt odd that that has to be allowed.

It was a reference to indian culture but... it is still broad... Use standard Bigtopian, Maxtopian, or Lilliputian instead of Indian

What does each option do to a nations statistics and/or description?

I believe it describes how your nation is run and how corrupt or good it is.

As for the way the issues have to be done, I have corrected the @@name@@ and Indian thing on the first post.

Lethal Injection Legal?

After a month debating the penalty of serial killer @@RANDOMNAME@@, it has come down to you: Should Lethal Injection stay legal?

1. "Of course it's legal," says Local Prosecutor @@RANDOMNAME@@. "Look at all the criminals we've kill - uh - put to rest using injection in the past year. Also, look at other countries! They're putting them to sleep on a daily basis! If they can do it, than so can we!

2. "That is inhumane in every way!" says Protesting Leader @@RANDOMNAME@@. "So what if other countries do it? They're our rivals; why should we follow them? We are going down a path of anarchy here! Why else do you think we're protesting in front of the courthouse? Lethal Injection should be outlawed!"

3. War Marshall @@RANDOMNAME@@ has a better idea. "Hey, why don't we just do it the old fashioned way - tie 'em up and fire at will! We don't have to listen to those ranting protesters! Just take the criminal and shoot him instead of taking forever preparing for the injection! It's as simple as 1, 2, FIRE!"

My idea, following the format given in how to write an issue:

Name: Atomic Cars: The Wave of the Future?

Description: In an attempt to cut down on gasoline prices, industry leaders in @@NAME@@ have come foward with a proposed industry merger. Members of the Uranium Mining and Automobile Manufacturing industries have suggested the immediate design, construction, and sale of nuclear powered cars for consumers.

Validity: The nation must have both Uranium Mining and Automobile Manufacturing industries.

[option]"Man, it's like, there's these cars right?" says @@ANIMAL@@-hugger @@RANDOMNAME@@, "and that's like, really bad already right? So, like, we aren't called the green movement because we want the trees to glow, man... Radiation is so not cool... Yeah..."
[effect]Government outlaws the sale of nuclear cars to the public
[stats]government size increases, economy decreases, environmental spending increases

[option]"Marketing must be left as unregulated as possible," says local capitalist @@RANDOMNAME@@, "in order for a free-market economy to develop. We must allow our nations dreams to come to fruition, which can only happen through freedom. As our founding fathers so proudly put it, @@SLOGAN@@
[effect]The government authorizes the sale of nuclear cars to the public
[stats]government size decreases, economy increases, happiness increases

[option]"As the moons of Xanibar have foretold," says famous crackpot @@RANDOMNAME@@, "our sickness to radiation comes not from the radiation, but ourselves. Our sickness comes from our own inner fears of the great green gods, brought on by sin. In order to avoid this, we must immediately begin force-feeding our children tablets of uranium every day to accustom them to our future overlords."
[effect]The government mandated uranium tablets in school meals, and some youth have fallen but are labelled "unbelievers".
[stats]government size increases, Uranium Mining increases, death rate critically increases, religious devotion increases

staxland ... as a first ... make your own topic ...

secondly ... interesting issue even though there is some problems with it

A: it is to clear to see that the Issuewriter (yes ... you) is to biased at yelling to the world that Nuclear is bad no matter what ...

B: make yet one more in which Nuclear based cars is legal but the used fuel needs to be delivered back to the government that seal it off (triggering another issue in which the question about what kind of sealing that should be used) ... that way you also cover those that believes that nuclear is the best we have but should be governed carefully also have one to choose (tax rate up, uranium mining up)... i would simply throw the issue away because nothing fits me even slightly

C: think about redoing the validity ... my country have banned cars because of fussile fuels but would take this offer nevertheless

If an issue follows the for/against or for/against/compromise format, The FOR option should be option #1. Also, the idea of nuclear cars is a little too silly, I think your issue would get rejected. But thats just my opinion. Also, this is someone else's issue idea thread, go start your own if you waqnt to share your issue idea.

As for the Border Issue, It's been bugging me for a while. You know in those cops shows where the criminal tries to escape to the border so the police are not allowed to give chase any longer. I have always felt odd that that has to be allowed.

This is really just a Hollywood myth. They can pursue anyone in a chase if the crime happened within the borders of their country. What they can't do is go into the country, say, a few days later.

But if I'm an American cop, and I'm chasing you, and enter the Mexican border, I still have the right to continue my chase and get you in Mexico.

I believe it describes how your nation is run and how corrupt or good it is.

My point is, I believe the issue maker is supposed to be the one who writes the effects and what not.

For Example,
[effect]The government regularly hires contractors to construct high rise apartments
[stats]Economy increases, health decreases

Question: Is there another page we should be submitting these on???

It's not as if a guy like me knows what is going to happen when they choose a side. So, who likes my ideas?

As for the Lethal Injection idea, that came from the news about the first person to die using lethal injection of 2006.

I like the Lethal Injection idea but as I remember there is an issue on death penalty and I'n not sure how similiar they are. Atomic Cars is just too obscure in my view.

Edit: Yes I have had a look and it's issue 12 but that issue is just two options and I think if you have a look at it and try to avoid similarities or make it a consequences issue then it could get accepted.
